COPA is a small national registered charity run by older people for older people in Wales. We are the “national voice” for local older people’s groups and want to make sure that older people are listened to, and their demands are acted on. We feed the views and opinions of fora and groups directly into both government and national public organisations. There is strength in numbers and a demand for well organised and informed lobbying that can have a greater influence and reach than is feasible by any individual or local group
The number and proportion of older people in Wales has been increasing for decades and their needs have become more complex and diverse. Changes in society and politics mean that the challenges facing many older people, particularly those on low incomes or in poor health are struggling to be sufficiently recognised. In COPA we have prioritised a range of issues to address including tackling age discrimination, creating Age Friendly Communities, building intergenerational solidarity, tackling isolation and loneliness, and cost of living and digital inclusion, as well as health, social care, housing and transport. We campaign from a position of independence and the self-determined voice of older people.
In order to address this important agenda and strengthen our charity we are looking to recruit a number of new trustees in 2025. COPA would like to invite any individuals who may be interested in becoming a Trustee to contact us. This is an opportunity to directly influence and contribute to the work of a charity that is making a difference to the lives of older people across Wales. There is no payment for being a Trustee, but COPA will cover expenses. The deadline for applications is 21 May 2025

What is campaigning?
These are some of the things you could do as a Campaigns Volunteer! Our team will be here to support you in whatever you’re doing.
- Sharing the MND Association’s campaigns on social media.
- Contacting local councillors to improve services for people living with and affected by MND in your area.
- Talking to MPs and other decision-makers about what MND is and why it’s important that people have access to high quality health and care services.
- Working with MND Association staff to identify issues and gather evidence for campaigns.
- Help to change laws to improve the lives of people living with and affected by MND.
This role will suit you if:
- You want to make a positive difference for people living with and affected by MND.
- You’re interested in learning and improving your campaigning skills.
- You’re a good communicator. No matter where your interest lies, be it writing e-mails or talking to people, sharing stories or providing us with feedback, you have so much to offer!
- You are computer literate and have access to email and the internet, or someone who can help you with this.
- Willing to work autonomously but also link up with others when needed.

How flexible is the role?

Citizens Advice Barnet’s twin aims are to help people in our community resolve the problems they face and campaign to change the policies and practices which affect their lives. As a Research and Campaigns Volunteer, you will enable us to achieve the second aim, using the experience of the people we help to influence lasting change that makes a real difference to our community.
Duties include
- Supporting the Research and Campaigns Lead to identify opportunities to improve local policies and practices that affect people we help.
- Gathering evidence to support local and national campaigns.
- Undertaking research to build a campaign.
- Writing monthly updates for local councillors on what we're seeing in their ward.
- Writing up reports to present your research and recommendations.
- Researching and writing reports to raise awareness of local problems.

Person Specification
No previous experience is required; this role would suit you if you have an interest in social policy, or would simply like to make a difference in our local community, and have the following skills and attributes:
- IT skills, especially Word and Excel at a basic level (sort, filter, basic formulas), and willingness and ability to learn to use our CRM to run reports.
- Strong research skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively.

Develop Visual Identities: Collaborate with project facilitators and participants to translate their ideas into cohesive visual identities that reflect their aspirations and cultural narratives.

Produce Promotional Materials: Help create engaging promotional content, including posters and social media posts, to showcase the project and attract further community support.

Bring Concepts to Life: Use your technical expertise in graphic design software (like Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent) to produce high-quality visuals that spark dialogue and connection.
You can volunteer on a one-off basis or work with us more regularly, depending on your availability and interest.

About the role
The Public Affairs and Advocacy team works together to help influence decision-makers so that more young people can develop skills for life.
As an Advocacy Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in raising the profile of Scouts across the UK, ensuring our impact is recognised at both local and national levels. You’ll help us build relationships with political audiences, championing the incredible work we do while remaining politically impartial.

- Providing guidance and support to fellow volunteers across the country on advocacy matters.

Since 2017, Global Health 50/50 has been a trusted, evidence-driven authority and research initiative driving accountability for gender equality in the global health sector. Our work has helped to catalyse change across the policies, practices, and leadership within our sample of 200 organisations working in global health, and beyond – establishing a global benchmark for progress and transparency for equality.

The role of trustees
As a Trustee, you will help shape Global 50/50’s Strategic Direction: providing a sounding board and balance to the executive team, guidance on long-term planning and external engagement. Ultimately, with your fellow trustees, responsible for the sustainability of the organisation, you will help ensure and support the executive team to deliver:
Good Governance & Compliance: Oversee financial health, risk management, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Financial Sustainability: Support fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and responsible financial oversight.
Global 50/50’s Influence & Visibility: Act as an ambassador to strengthen partnerships and advocacy impact.

We’re looking for a new fundraising volunteer and/or director! Are you passionate about securing funds for grassroot organisations?
This opportunity involves overseeing Fuel Poverty Action’s fundraising plans and strategy, reaching out to donors and promoting our vital campaigns through grant bids to help end fuel poverty in the UK.
This role would require an average of 16-20 hrs per month and can be done remotely. We are also open to you joining FPA’s board of directors, subject to capacity and experience.

USPG is looking to appoint 3 Trustees (lay or ordained) committed to global mission within the Anglican Communion. At this time, we are seeking to appoint a qualified accountant and two trustees with significant regional knowledge (Caribbean/ Latin America, Middle East, East Asia or Africa) to serve from July 2025.
About You
In recruiting Trustees at this time, we are looking for individuals with the following skill sets and experience:
- Accountancy: A qualified accountant with current experience of scrutinising accounts of organisations of the scale of USPG (at least) is sought. The person appointed will become a member of USPG’s Finance & Audit Committee as well as contribute to the strategic discussions of the Trustee board.
- Global knowledge and understanding: A couple of trustees with significant regional knowledge, especially of the Caribbean/Latin America, but also of the Middle East, Asia or Africa. That understanding may come from working with the churches or from professional experience outside of the Church.
The role is not paid, but necessary expenses incurred for attending USPG meetings will be reimbursed.
