As Head of Communications, you’ll lead our communications function at a strategic level, inspiring and influencing how we share our story with the world. Key Responsibilities
• You will provide strategic leadership for all communications activity across the charity, working closely with colleagues to develop and deliver multidisciplinary communications plans that support corporate objectives. You will be responsible for evaluating communications performance, reporting against KPIs, and using data to drive improvement. You’ll play a key role in horizon-scanning and forward planning, ensuring our messaging is proactive and responsive to external developments.
• You’ll oversee all of Pact’s digital platforms, including our social media channels and websites, as well as those for the Prisoners’ Families Helpline. You will lead the creation and delivery of compelling content to engage and grow our audiences, ensuring a dynamic and consistent presence across both organic and paid-for channels.
• Marketing and branding will be central to your remit. You’ll lead the development of high-quality, accessible and inclusive marketing materials and publications that inspire and inform stakeholders, staff, volunteers and service users. You’ll ensure the organisation maintains a strong and coherent visual and written identity, and you’ll manage a library of media assets and case studies that bring our work to life. You will also offer trusted support and guidance to colleagues and volunteers promoting Pact’s services locally.
• A core part of the role will involve amplifying the voices of people with lived experience. You’ll oversee the regular generation of powerful case studies and service user stories to be shared across internal and external channels, always ensuring ethical and inclusive storytelling.
• You’ll also contribute to the planning and promotion of key organisational events, including staff and volunteer gatherings, stakeholder roundtables and receptions.
• Ultimately, you will be the guardian of the Pact brand and the leader of our communications culture – someone who empowers others, inspires creativity, and champions clear, compassionate communication at every level.
Person Specification
• You will have significant experience in a senior communications, PR or marketing leadership role, with a proven ability to develop and evaluate impactful strategies. You’ll be an exceptional communicator with a keen eye for storytelling and audience engagement, and you’ll have experience managing digital platforms and growing audiences through content innovation.
• Strong leadership and team management skills are essential, as is a collaborative, facilitative approach that brings out the best in others. You’ll need to be a confident relationship-builder, able to influence at senior levels and build trust with stakeholders, media, and partners.
• Ideally, you will bring experience or understanding of the voluntary, criminal justice or social justice sectors. A strong grasp of inclusive communication and accessibility standards is highly desirable, along with an ethical approach to storytelling that respects and amplifies lived experience.

About the role:
You are able to work a hybrid with 3 days working from the office in Southampton and 2 days working from home.
As a Caseworker you will:
- Make calls to offer support to victims of crime, delivering immediate support.
- Develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime who accept ongoing support, which will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
- Work alongside and oversee the casework management of a small number of volunteer supporters
- Liaise and actively engage with other local providers to share information on the VS service offer and options for victims and survivors

About the role:
This role is home based and therefore requires an appropriately confidential home space in which to work.
As an IDVA you will:
- Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
- Focus on and prioritise high risk cases and provide a proactive, short to medium term crisis intervention service. Deliver individually appropriate tailored support and information, advocacy, and practical support.
- Work with high risk victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. Develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the risks and needs assessment.
- Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
- Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults, including the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Adult and Children's Boards.
- Provide advocacy, and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
- Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
- Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
- Participate fully in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference framework.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring the service.
You will need:
- A SafeLives (or equivalent) IDVA qualification or the willingness to work towards.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching and influencing others.
- A good understanding of domestic abuse including its impact on victims and their children.
- An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management.
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
- Experience of managing a complex caseload, and be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands.

The Role

About the role:

Addiction Counsellor Location: Wiltshire Salary: £24,000 per annum plus benefits We are currently recruiting for an Addiction Counsellor to join our Counselling Team, delivering intensive, structured treatment programmes to clients admitted to Clouds House, (based in East Knoyle, Wiltshire, SP3). Here at Forward Trust, Clouds House is one of Forward’s residential substance misuse treatment centres in East Knoyle, Wiltshire. Clouds House delivers a structured interpersonal and 12 Step treatment programme, designed to help those with substance and behavioural addiction maintain abstinence and develop long term sustainable recovery. Over the last 40 years Clouds House has helped over 12,000 clients work towards a life in recovery and helped to create a growing recovery culture through our alumni. Our ambition is to significantly increase recovery capital, whilst offering treatment to as many clients, irrespective of means, as possible. We believe and are committed to providing opportunities to all people including those with ‘Lived Experience’ we encourage applications from all backgrounds including those in recovery from any addiction or who have experience of previous offending or homelessness. About the role As an Addiction Counsellor, you will work and train towards being able to carry out all aspects of a client’s treatment journey from individual case management sessions to facilitate interpersonal group therapy, psycho-educational workshops, carry out 12 step study groups and everything in between. You will forge positive, recovery focussed therapeutic alliances and share information with the inter-disciplinary team to ensure progress within a client’s treatment journey, where clients are cared for safely and that all activity is carried out in accordance with regulatory guidelines. You will need to be able to practice reflectively, model firm and clear boundaries with both clients and staff and display professional and flexible communication. Key responsibilities Ensure delivery of the programme in line with the Clouds House interpersonal treatment model. Carrying a caseload of clients to ensure effective retention of clients on the programme and delivering successful treatment outcomes whilst encouraging and ensuring good practice case management, including high quality record keeping and safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children by identifying and reporting concerns. Working within our therapeutic programme delivery with clients and ensuring that recognised theoretical frameworks are utilised in the provision of the therapeutic treatment programme e.g. motivational Interviewing, cognitive behavioural approaches, 12 step philosophy, interpersonal group psychotherapy. Completion of comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, management and treatment plans and group therapy with clients and individual counselling and/or case management sessions and attending inter-disciplinary meetings and communicate with other leaders within and outside of the treatment setting. About the role:
This role is based at Accrington. Once your probation period is completed you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.
As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will be:
- Focusing on victims of domestic abuse and will provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support
- This will include supporting victims either face to face or over the telephone to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. It will involve developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
- You will provide advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including
- exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
- You will participate fully in multi-agency meetings by being the voice of the client and follow up actions agreed in meetings keeping the client's safety at the forefront of proceedings.
You will need to:
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
- Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
- Experience of managing a complex caseload, to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised and methodical approach to work
- Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
- Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.
- This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. About the role
We’re looking for a Team Manager with extensive social work experience to manage our Sheffield Team. In this role, you’ll be supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer by managing a team of social care staff who deliver services in line with our organisation’s service specifications.
You will be based at Sheffield Children’s Hospital where most of the team are based with one Social Worker based also at Weston Park Hospital. This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work both from home and from Sheffield Children’s Hospital, however, there is an expectation that the majority of time (2 out of 3 days minimum) you will be present at the hospital with the team, especially on Tuesdays as this is when the whole team is together.
About you
Our work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient.
We are looking for a social work qualified experienced people manager to take responsibility for operational management and development of our social work services.
You will ensure that effective services are delivered to children and young people with cancer and their families through the professional supervision of our staff group, working across split sites.
You will have:
- You must hold an appropriate social work qualification.
- Extensive experience of working with children and young people including complex case work and risk assessment and care planning, caseload management and interagency working
- Experience of managing safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults, legislation, procedures and best practice
- Experience of supervising students and / or staff in a social care setting
- Experience of delivering support to young people and families via different mediums including individuals, groups and digital delivery.
- A proven ability to manage expectations of key stakeholders including staff and service users
This role is subject to an Enhanced level Criminal Record Check. In the event of a successful application a Disclosure report will be sought.
