The position:

The Humane League UK is seeking a creative, proactive, and strategically-minded individual with the drive to end the abuse of animals raised for food.

As Social Media Coordinator, you will live and breathe all things social media, understanding its potential contribution to achieving our mission.

You'll lead all activities across our Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, and LinkedIn, as well as keeping an eye out for opportunities elsewhere on social media. With strong working knowledge across social channels, you’ll implement a digital strategy focused on reaching, engaging, and converting our audiences to take action for animals.

This role reports to the Digital Communications Manager.

Who you are:

You are passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food. With an attention to detail and strong written and verbal communications skills in English, you’ll have a keen eye for persuasive and punchy copy and an ability to adapt your tone of voice.

You’ll be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that you meet deadlines and communicate internally.

You’ll have experience of digging into the data, using analytics to assess results, gain learnings, and action those learnings to improve channel performance. You understand what audiences want to see from different channels, and how to get cut through and reach attention on each one.

You are a whizz with editing tools and can create compelling, dynamic video and static content that hooks people in and keeps them watching.

You’ll be comfortable reacting to opportunities nimbly and being proactive in looking for stories to tell about our work, seeing every interaction as an opportunity. 

You’ll be willing to be the face of the organisation on social media, ensuring that you have a good working knowledge of our issues and campaigns in order to motivate support for them.

You will have a supporter-centric approach to communications, responding to comments and messages from a place of care and empathy.

While working with autonomy is an important part of your role, strong collaboration and communication skills are paramount to your success.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ownership of our social media channels; regularly testing, creating, and posting content that is tailored to each platform, using each channel’s features to maximise impact towards our goals.

• Planning and building social media campaigns that strategically integrate goals and consider metrics.

• Updating the communications calendar.

• Create inspiring concepts and develop these into compelling, on-brand, platform-specific content using tools like Canva and Adobe Express.

• Social media community management including moderating and responding to comments and messages to ensure people feel valued, engaged, and we are building strong relationships with supporters and potential supporters.

• Regularly monitoring social trends to create topical content.

• Using tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook insights, and Sprout Social to report on post and channel performance, monitoring and evaluating success against goals on a monthly basis.

• Contribute to or initiate the development and improvement of processes that improve delivery and collaboration.

• Keep up to date with new features and tech related to social media platforms, as well as other organisations’ activity, to ensure the most engaging and effective content.

• Encourage and assist staff members in producing social media content, supporting them with creative and technical guidance and giving feedback.

• Contribute to other communications activities such as website and PR content, as necessary.

• Attend events, protests and actions as necessary, developing on-the-ground content plans that effectively showcase our actions and further our goals.

• Update the wider team on social media progress and insights.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Digital Communications Manager or Head of Communications.

• Participate in team meetings including note-taking and facilitation.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong working knowledge across multiple key social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook – this could be through professional experience or demonstrable extensive personal use.

• Experience in planning, creating, and scheduling social media content ahead of time, as well as reactive content.

• An understanding of how different audiences engage with content across various platforms, and what they want to see from each.

• Confident using the features and tools of each channel to optimise reach and engagement.

• Experience using data and analytics to assess social media performance, extract insights, and apply learnings to improve results.

• Proficiency with editing tools to create both video and static graphic content.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Proficient in tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and Sprout Social (or similar).

• Experience in community management, including responding to comments and messages in a timely, appropriate, and engaging way.

Hours:

As an organisation we work a four day work week. This is a full time position of 30 hours per week over Monday to Thursday.

About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Network Development team in the North of England, to support the team in managing a range of projects that will fix and grow the National Cycle Network in the delivery of our Paths for Everyone strategy.

As the Senior Network Development Manager, you will be leading a small team of Network Development colleagues to initiate, develop and deliver programmes and projects to advance the National Cycle Network (NCN). You will be ensuring the plan for the NCN remains innovative and relevant, by creating new routes and removing barriers.

School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) is an education charity that exists to empower and support young people living in complex and challenging circumstances. SOHK is at a new and exciting stage of development. Having delivered its programmes to thousands of adults and young people over the past 13 years, in 2024 we chose to focus solely on working in schools. OVERVIEW

The Trusts & Foundations Manager will play a central role in shaping SOHK’s future growth. They will lead on major grant applications, support targeted bids aligned with regional delivery, and manage relationships with existing charitable funders.

Around one-third of SOHK’s £1.5 million income currently comes from grants, with active partnerships including major funders such as the Garfield Weston Foundation and Impetus. Sustaining and growing this income will require proactive research, strategic outreach, and a highly organised, detail-focused approach to both applications and stewardship.

The role works closely with the CEO, who is committed to leveraging their time and networks to support fundraising success. The post-holder will also collaborate with Regional Directors and other fundraising colleagues, while enjoying a high level of autonomy and contributing to the long-term direction of SOHK’s Trusts & Foundations strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop and submit high-quality funding proposals, including applications for six-figure and multi-year grants, by meeting appropriate deadlines and tailoring applications so they appeal to different funder priorities
• Manage and develop a strong pipeline of Trust & Foundations funders for future years, including researching and prospecting new leads through active outreach
• Work with the CEO, Regional Directors and overall fundraising team to identify key funding priorities and strategically deploying the capacity available
• Develop and keep the fundraising CRM updated as a central source of trusts and foundations knowledge, clearly identifying funding gaps and adjusting targets
• Strengthen existing funding partnerships through warm stewardship and efficient grant reporting, maximising the charity’s chances of repeat funding
• Build upon the organisational strategy for scaling trusts & foundations income

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Demonstrable track record in leading on successful medium and major grant applications, including six-figure and multi-year grants
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to present a compelling case for support to a variety of funders
• Comfortable in understanding and presenting financial information and in creating budgets for grant applications
• Experience with CRM/fundraising databases for tracking applications, deadlines, and relationship management
• Highly organised and proactive, used to taking the lead on managing a large volume of potential grants in line with the submission dates
• Confident in liaising and engaging with external organisations, including building new relationships with potential funders who are invite-only
• Enjoy working across different teams within an organisation, bringing in new perspectives and utilising the assets and expertise of current staff for fundraising purposes
• Growth mindset, always ready to accept new challenges and opportunities to develop funding strategies.

Desirable

• An understanding of how to build and develop a multi-year fundraising strategy for trusts and foundations

These include our flagship programme called Holy Ground which empowers churches to adopt a local sports space in their community to connect with the 95 in their context. Half Time is our brand new Explore-Respond resource which uses sports-themed videos and fun games to help the 95 to explore the life of Jesus by journeying through Mark’s Gospel. 

About Activate 

Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith.  Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms.  A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project. 

In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities.  The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes. 

About your team

With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides. Background

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. Job Context

Lepra UK is seeking to expand impactful social research, and the research internship was created to assist with moving forward some key research pieces during the summer 2025. As Research Intern, you will work alongside the Head of Research and a team of research volunteers to complete a systematic evidence review on the experience of children affected by leprosy of stigma, discrimination and mental health responses. You will support the review with screening of articles, data extraction, verification, coding, synthesis and quality assessment. You will join the team two months into the project, taking on various roles to assist with the completion of this project. You will also help with conducting a literature review on the socio-cultural reasons for (non)adherence in multi-drug therapy treatment (MDT). Other tasks will be assigned as they emerge. Your work will provide valuable insight into under-researched fields and will contribute to evidence-based publications, recommendations and programming.

RABI support farming people across England and Wales with expert, one-to-one practical, financial and emotional help, 365 days a year. From confidential advice and mental health support to direct financial assistance, our tailored services respond to the unique challenges of farming life.

Key Purpose:

To work as part of a team that provide high quality casework and grant applications to farming people that come to RABI for support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality information, advice and guidance in an empathetic and professional manner.
• Conduct a holistic needs assessment for each service user according to their individual circumstances.
• Manage a caseload of beneficiaries working with each service user to establish the most appropriate sources of support and agree an action/support plan with them.
• Collation of evidence for grants applications, checking that essential criteria have been met and progressing applications to the next stage of RABI’s internal grants process.
• Provide a face-to-face service when there is an over-riding need to do so by visiting service users.
• Collaborate with other agencies/service providers who can offer additional support options.
• Liaise with partners, ensuring that agreed actions are followed up.
• Log and communicate details of cases in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that records are up to date and the wider team has the information they need to provide support.
• Explore, assess and escalate any safeguarding concerns according to the RABI safeguarding policy.
• Contribute constructively to the development of the Service Delivery team and function, for the benefit of service users.
• Work constructively and collaboratively to solve problems with the support of colleagues.
• Be an ambassador for Service Delivery internally within RABI and with external organisations.
• Demonstrate commitment to Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety promoting a safe and inclusive environment.

Person Specification:

Essential

• Fluent Welsh language speaker.
• Experience providing services to vulnerable service users, listening and supporting in a non-judgemental way.
• Knowledge and insight into state benefits and complementary support services (whether national/local/statutory agencies.)
• Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively, prioritising competing demands to include keeping excellent case records.
• Excellent communication skills, being able to establish rapport and build trust quickly.
• The ability to build a practical plan alongside a service user and adapt approach to different circumstances and personalities.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, particularly in complex situations
• Knowledge of data protection principles and how to apply them.
• Knowledge or experience of safeguarding best practice.
• Excellent IT software skills and aptitude to adapt to new systems and processes.
• Flexible, resilient and solution focussed working with sensitivity and integrity.
• Collaborative, constructive, and solution focussed.
• Ability to work flexibly, depending on the needs of the team and of service users.

Desirable

• Farming background or knowledge of the farming community environment.
• Experience providing support remotely.
• Relevant qualifications in health and social care.

Community Energy Adviser – East Anglia

Field based in East Anglia with working from home.

(The role will require travelling in the Midlands but will work from home most of the time around meetings and workshops.)

The Community Energy Adviser will deliver energy support sessions in local communities, empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. The focus will be on assisting those facing challenges with their energy needs by providing practical advice, support, and advocacy on energy conservation, switching providers, and accessing grants or benefits.

Full time- 35 hours a week

The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and may also include some Saturdays.

The role

In this role you will be:

· Planning and delivering engaging and informative energy support workshops within local communities, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of attendees.

· Providing one-to-one support to individuals requiring more in-depth assistance, including conducting home energy assessments and offering tailored advice.

· Collaborating with local organisations and stakeholders to identify and reach out to communities and individuals who would benefit most from energy advice and support.

· Developing and distributing educational materials on energy saving, bill management, and the benefits of renewable energy sources.

· Tracking and evaluating the impact of community sessions and one-to-one interventions, adjusting strategies to improve outreach and support effectiveness.

· Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of energy sector developments, including changes in legislation, available grants, and best practices in energy conservation.

About you

· You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to support communities and individuals who would benefit most from energy advice and support.

· You will be able to plan and deliver engaging and informative energy support workshops within local communities, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of attendees.

· You will be able to show empathy and be able to respond positively to change while being able to deal effectively with conflicting priorities will allow to succeed within this role. The service will help customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty.

· It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products

· You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families. It is desirable that you have a good knowledge of Energy and Utilities advice.
