Hand in Hand International is based in Baker Street, central London, and we have a team of 27 employees. We have a flexible, hybrid, working policy that includes work-from-home Mondays and Fridays. Our team works with partners throughout the global Hand in Hand network, specialising in fundraising, strategic and programmes advice, and donor relations.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the HR Manager – a new post - will be the principal HR point of contact and lead on the full breadth of day-to-day HR matters. They will make a pivotal key contribution to our aim to be an employer of choice, and overall to be an inclusive and positive place to work. Key responsibilities include:

Employee relations – Ensure that all of our employment documents such as contracts, policies, procedures, staff briefings and our staff handbook are kept up to date, reflect best practice and UK employment law, and that they are being applied across the organisation. Providing as appropriate, related information and support to managers and employees.  

Line manager support – Develop, and maintain, a handbook for line managers, supplemented with periodic guidance; review and meet learning and development needs to ensure line managers are well-supported and able to perform their roles effectively.

HR systems and processes – Manage the collection and recording of relevant information across a breadth of employment matters including attendance, recruitment processes, equality and diversity, performance management etc. Undertake research and analysis and support the Director of Finance in the preparation of their reports on employment matters.

Recruitment – Develop and support Hand in Hand’s recruitment, executing onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring these align with our aims and maximise our potential to recruit and retain a great team.

Change management - Support the implementation of a digital HR platform as part of a wider organisational systems upgrade project, led by the Digital Systems Manager, together with any future change projects that will enhance our HR services and the support we are able to provide to our managers and employees.

Pay and benefits – Carry out periodic benchmarks and reviews of employee pay and benefits, focussing on the sector we operate in.

Staff surveys – Carry out our annual staff survey, together with any additional temperature checks as required, presenting the findings and recommendations to the senior management team. Manage the implementation of any agreed changes and improvements to our employment arrangements following the surveys.

Projects and general support – Undertake HR projects as required and provide HR support to employees and line managers in the event of any queries as they arise. Additionally, take a proactive approach in providing guidance and suggestions for improvements, simplification and change as and when appropriate.

Skills and knowledge

· CIPD qualification level 5, or above

· A full understanding of UK employment law, HR functions and best practices

· Experience supporting small organisations (<50 employees) with establishing, and implementing, policies and procedures

· Able to prioritise with excellent time management

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Good analytical skills, with the ability to draw out useful information to inform reports and actions

· Excellent attention to detail

· Approachable, empathetic and able to deal with any employee issues calmly and swiftly

This role also includes occasional receptionist cover, so we’re looking for someone friendly, reliable and adaptable.

This is a new role within the communications and engagement team, with responsibility for helping our members to campaign and secure improvements to regional transport accessibility. The role is part of our work to achieve justice in society, where disabled people’s voices are amplified, and our message is heard and acted upon.

You will work across the north of England, mirroring the regions covered by the Sub-national Transport Body ‘Transport for the North’. You must live in this region to apply and undertake this position.

You will collaborate with Transport for All members, disabled people’s organisations, and civil society organisations, bringing disabled people together to share our views on accessible transport and make change. Where campaigning is already taking place, you will work alongside it, offering resources and practical support as desired.

Key responsibilities

1. Planning and development (10% of time)

· Plan regular activity across your region, considering staffing, budget, and wider organisational requirements

· Help to develop and deliver Transport for All’s membership offering, community building and local campaign support

· Keep Transport for All’s CRM and records up to date

· In partnership with your manager, create systems to monitor objectives against funding and organisational targets and prepare reports to evidence progress against these

2. Communication and community building (50% of time)

· Build relationships with local members, campaigners, disabled people’s organisations, groups and forums

· Represent Transport for All at meetings and events, including giving presentations on our work

· Organise and deliver regular member meetings online and offline, providing space for people to connect, share transport accessibility news and plan and progress campaigns

· Contribute and commission member content for the member newsletter, website, and social media

· Speak to the media and develop and grow a network of local members willing to train as spokespeople for meetings and media interviews

3. Policy influencing and campaigning (30% of time)

4. Insight (10% of time)

· Share information about the Transport for All advice-line with members and the disabled community in your region

· Give updates on regional transport changes to the Insight and Advice team to support accurate advice giving and regional casework

5. General (at all times)

· Undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are in line with the general level of this post and as instructed

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service based in Haringey. This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to provide stroke recovery support following a stroke.

Position: S11275 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Haringey, however, regular travel will be required as part of this role within the service area (may include other travel in London and nationally to include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

Salary: Circa £27,400 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance with where you live)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

Reporting to the London Service Delivery Coach, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication.

• Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community

• Provide personalised information, advice and support

Your role 

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support CWNN’s fundraising strategy. You’ll work alongside our Development Manager to create compelling fundraising campaigns, content and communications, growing engagement from individuals, companies, community fundraisers and potential funders while simultaneously raising our profile among stakeholders through strategic communications and marketing plans. This work includes:   

• Support our Development Manager to create and deliver impactful and innovative fundraising strategies including our public appeals, challenge events and local fundraising campaigns.

• Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote CWNN’s work, managing our social media platforms and external comms to ensure they reflect our strategic goals and values.

• Producing our e-newsletter, with support from the Development team, to ensure CWNN’s key work, impact, news and campaigns are effectively promoted to our supporter base.

• Create engaging digital content for our website and social media including written copy, video and graphics.

• Analysing campaign engagement KPIs to inform future strategies and approaches to best engage existing and new audiences.

• Create marketing materials for external use, eg. corporate pitch documents, fundraising packs, gig programmes, flyers and posters using Canva.

• Co-creating case studies, supporting members to share their stories, their way, amplifying their voices and demonstrating the impact of our choirs to stakeholders.

• Co-lead our co-produced ‘Digital Storytellers’ programme with our Community Participation Manager, supporting members to manage their own local social media accounts, sharing their stories and raising awareness of their choirs to new audiences.

• Maintain, organise and populate CWNN’s media library and YouTube channel.

• Write and distribute press releases to both regional and national press and media, fielding media enquiries and building our media contacts.

• Co-ordinate our internal communications programme, working with senior leadership team.

• Carry out any other tasks that arise that are within the scope and purpose of the post as requested by your line manager.

About you 

Essential:

• You’ll have a proven track record in delivering successful, innovative and impactful charity communications content and strategies.

• You’ll have a good understanding of how fundraising and engagement campaigns can convert individuals into donors and advocates.

• You’ll have a creative eye and strong writing skills, with experience of bringing compelling stories to life across various platforms and media, to connect with a diverse range of supporters, funders and stakeholders.

• You’ll be able to multitask effectively, be highly organised with strong attention to detail.

• You’ll be proactive, self-motivated and can identify and act on opportunities as they arise.

• You’ll be reliable with an ability to work independently and have fantastic planning skills.

We are recruiting for an experienced Area Manager to oversee 12 dedicated shop teams in Greater London and South East England.

In this role you will provide great leadership, inspiration and support to ensure the shop teams (paid colleagues and volunteers) are the very best they can be.  You will develop your team to deliver commercial success and be passionate ambassadors for Scope within the local communities.

Permanent - 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday does include quarterly weekend working). Some home working is involved.

About the Role

The Lead Lawyer - Africa Death Penalty Team is responsible for coordinating Reprieve’s litigation and advocacy in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the moment, the team works on death penalty casework and abolition advocacy in Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. 

Our casework includes work on appeals to the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal in the context of historic denials of a right to appeal and related contextual challenges; large-scale projects, such as the Kenya resentencing project, wherein we support stakeholders to ensure 5,000+ people are able to access a chance at reducing their sentence from death via a new sentence hearing, as well as supporting on individual strategic resentencing cases; and long-term regional projects, such as our strategic litigation before the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which challenges the mandatory death penalty, torture, and other associated violations of the African Charter. This is an opportunity to join a team that has developed groundbreaking work with great success in getting people off death row, making significant contribution to legal reforms and towards abolition.

Length and Salary

This is a full-time role, on a one-year fixed term contract, with the possibility to extend, subject to funding. The annual salary is £52,088 per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. 

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work two days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.

The Asylum Reform Initiative (ARI) is an alliance of nine leading national organisations collaborating to secure deep change towards a fair, compassionate and well-managed UK approach to refugees. Central to its strategy has been incubating, launching and backing the broader, public-facing Together With Refugees campaign coalition, now with over 600 national and local member groups from across the refugee sector and beyond. The ARI team provides a dynamic hub that supports Together With Refugees, coordinating the development and delivery of the coalition’s campaign strategy.

About the role

This is a new role. Working closely with the rest of the ARI team, One Strong Voice, and the newly formed Together With Refugees Steering Group, it will play a key part in shaping and delivering the ambitious next phase of the Together With Refugees strategy. The Deputy Director will lead on movement building, strengthening the coalition, and developing the reach, activation levels and effectiveness of the coalition’s grassroots campaign organising to secure changes in policy and practice. At the heart of this is the engagement and leadership of activists with lived experience as refugees, and of member groups that are led by and for refugees – so advancing the goal of a transition to leadership by people with lived experience across the coalition. Key to this work will be building the capacity, effectiveness and impact of the One Strong Voice network to support lived experience campaigners, organisations and leaders at all levels. The Deputy Director will also contribute to wider leadership of the team’s work including fundraising, support for – and accountability to – coalition leadership structures, and effective delivery of the team’s work programme.

The Deputy Director will be a natural collaborator and relationship builder, able to work with diplomacy to drive forward our ambitious strategic aims. You will need ambition, energy and an ability to work at both strategic and more detailed levels. This could be the right opportunity for a range of potential candidates.
