About the role: 

As an Area Manager, you’ll lead and support shop teams across your designated area, made up of paid and voluntary staff. You will take full accountability for the profit of a mixed portfolio of shops in the Surrey and Middlesex area; this accountability extends to all income streams and controllable shop expenses. You will also be instrumental in developing and delivering, through your shop teams, high levels of supporter experience through well-presented shops and excellent supporter service. You’ll work closely with the Head of Retail and other Hospice colleagues in the day to day running of the business and contribute to all future development. 

This is a full time, field-based role. You will have an office base but the majority of the working week will be spent in shops with a need to travel daily between your shops. You’ll need to hold a current driving license (maximum 6 penalty points). The role also includes working ad hoc weekends, as needs of the business require.

About You: 

This position would ideally suit an experienced Area Manager, with a background in charity. However, we welcome applications form Area Managers with a solid background and transferable skills from the retail industry.

With proven people management experience, you will be confident, friendly, and possess excellent communication skills coupled with a high degree of competence in IT skills.

You will be self-motivated, able to handle conflict, problem solve and develop working relationships at all levels. Additionally, you will be extremely well organised, flexible and able to manage several tasks simultaneously.

The StreetLink London service, is a team of x7 Assessment workers, a Coordinator, a Service Manager and a pool of dedicated volunteers. The service is funded by the GLA, Bloomberg and London Councils, and is service which offers support directly to people at risk of or rough sleeping in London. The service provides targeted telephone advice, advocacy and support to help prevent and resolve people’s rough sleeping. The service does so by finding solutions to connect people to vital services that can help resolve their homelessness.

The role of Service Manager will be to oversee the delivery and development of StreetLink London. In this role, you will oversee the day to day management of the London Support phoneline. You will be responsible for building the team and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help develop and improve the StreetLink London Service.

We are looking for someone with experience of leading a service delivery team; delivering best practice and high-quality support or advice services to vulnerable clients as well as an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable people. You will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and committed to the need for continued learning and improvement necessary for Thrive at Five to develop a new place-based model for supporting early childhood development. The successful candidate will bring experience of managing a broad range of stakeholders and supporting a network of partners and will be adept at managing and coaching staff, with the ability to upskill team members. You will also have excellent organisational and project management skills. We are seeking an experienced philanthropy professional to lead and grow our income streams from individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, and corporates. In this role, you’ll lead the philanthropy programme, inspiring Trust and Charity staff and key stakeholders, and developing relationships with major donors. Reporting to the Director of Development, responsibilities include implementing a philanthropy strategy to meet growth targets over the next three years, increasing charity income, and managing a team of specialist fundraisers.

You will provide the highest quality donor cultivation and stewardship practices, oversee bespoke donor events, and manage your own donor portfolio. The role will also include regular reporting on activities and risks, collaboration with various charity departments, and ensuring compliance with fundraising best practices. Additionally, you will have a proven track record in significant fundraising, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and preferably, a background in health-related fundraising or understanding of the NHS.

Join Spurgeons as our Fundraising Campaigns Manager, where you will lead the development and execution of integrated fundraising campaigns designed to increase revenue, enhance supporter relations, and bolster our mission to support children, young people, and families. In this dynamic role, you will research, write, and own compelling fundraising campaigns that align with our needs and budgets. You'll develop and deliver a donor acquisition strategy to expand our supporter base and devise a regular giving proposition that fosters long-term supporter engagement. You will create and implement a fundraising calendar to maximise activity and income, develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure a consistent fundraising message across all communications. Additionally, you will provide regular reports on fundraising activity and utilise market research and audience insights to tailor plans that resonate with diverse audiences. Staying updated on industry trends and best practices, you will continually enhance our fundraising strategies while adhering to our Fundraising Guidelines and those of the Fundraising Regulator. ABOUT YOU

As our Fundraising Campaigns Manager, you will bring a wealth of experience and strategic insight to our team. With a degree or equivalent experience, you have a solid background in fundraising, with a proven track record in developing and executing successful fundraising plans and campaigns. You excel in crafting compelling stories that inspire support and managing multi-level projects. Proficient in data analysis, you use insights to optimise fundraising efforts and drive continuous improvement. Your creative thinking allows you to develop innovative strategies that capture attention and inspire action. Your excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills enable you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across a complex organisation. You can work collaboratively with internal teams, board members, community partners, and external collaborators to ensure alignment and support for fundraising initiatives. Ambitious, analytical, and compassionate, you are deeply committed to Spurgeons' mission and values of compassion, fairness, and commitment. You are conscientious, dependable, and continuously seek to learn and improve. About this key role

As a valued and integral part of the Fundraising and Communications team, our successful candidate will lead a small sub-team to generate at least £500,000 income each year, including the direct line management of a Senior Fundraising Officer, who you will support to line manage the Fundraising Assistant.  We will count on you to implement effective processes and procedures across the fundraising and collaborating teams, manage and refine processes for recordkeeping and devise, maintain and update our Fundraising Handbook.

You will also be expected to manage the development and implementation of our Individual Giving Strategy and our Individual Giving income stream through single and regular giving appeals, as well as managing a portfolio of challenge events nationally that provides excellent stewardship for a range of participants. Developing and designing high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure five-, six- and seven figure funding opportunities from Trusts & Foundations, Community Partners and High Net Worth Individuals is a key element of this role, as is providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.

• Expert knowledge of the fundraising landscape
• Experience devising cultivation and solicitation strategies and database management
• Knowledge of fundraising best practice and regulations and of anti-discriminatory working practices
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to write compelling, tailored and informative copy for reports, applications and external communications
• Ability to think strategically and develop innovative ideas to help us stand out to existing and new donors.
