ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Volunteering Experience Lead plays a vital role in ensuring volunteers feel connected, valued, and well-supported throughout their time with us. This role works across the entire volunteer journey, from attraction and onboarding to recognition and feedback. Friends of the Earth International (FoEI) is the world’s largest grassroots environmental federation with more than 70 autonomous member groups around the world. FoEI aims to ensure that the struggles and experiences of local communities – especially those most affected by unsustainable development – are brought to bear on policies and practices at national and international levels. We focus on climate justice and energy, forests and biodiversity, food sovereignty, economic justice, gender justice and environmental human rights defenders. FoEI’s decentralised and democratic structure allows all member groups to participate in decision-making. We are governed by our member groups who come together every two years to vote on issues facing the federation. A small International Secretariat (IS) in Amsterdam and a team of global staff support the member groups, campaigns, programs, and other activities of the federation through fundraising, campaign coordination, trainings, communications, and information management.
FoEI is seeking an International Fundraising Officer (80% FTE – 30 hours per week) to join our small fundraising team. The fundraising team is part of the International Secretariat and works collaboratively with staff and member groups across the globe to raise over €2.5 million annually. This position reports to FoEI's International Fundraising Coordinator (based in Amsterdam) and can be based in any country where FoEI has a member group, including at the International Secretariat office in Amsterdam.
FoEI’s fundraising approach aligns with its mission and values, which means that FoEI does not accept donations from corporations. In 2026, FoEI’s funding will come primarily from private foundations, the EU, and membership fees. Within the context of a challenging funding landscape, particularly cuts to development aid budgets, over the coming years our aim is to continue diversifying funding streams and substantially increase support from private foundations and other donors. This will provide long-term stability for the federation and enable its programs and regions to rise to the challenge posed by the multiple systemic crises we face.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the fundraising team, the International Fundraising Officer will implement a comprehensive and strategic fundraising plan aligned with FoEI's mission and vision, in collaboration with the International Coordinator, other secretariat staff, Executive Committee (board), International Program Coordinators and Regional Facilitators. Key responsibilities include:
· Prospect research:
• Research, identify and monitor prospective funding opportunities and keep donor records up-to-date.
• Regular sharing of funding opportunities with member groups.
· Fundraising materials, grant proposals and reports:
• Position FoEI to anticipate and respond to prospective funding opportunities
• Lead in the development of fundraising materials, including case studies, concept notes, proposals and reports – collaboratively with FoEI teams, member groups, regional structures, and allies.
• Work with proposal teams to craft strong results frameworks and/or impact narratives and indicators to enable high quality and efficient reporting across projects.
· Donor Relationship Management
• Develop bespoke cultivation plans for key donors.
• Cultivate and deepen donor relationships through regular communication and networking.
• Plan and deliver pitches to new and prospective donors. As necessary, support FoEI staff and representatives in engagement with funders including attendance at meetings and events.
· Other tasks
• Provide input on fundraising related external communication such as the website, social media and publications.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• At least 3-5 years of proven experience working across the full life cycle of fundraising from prospecting, proposal development, donor relationship management, grant management and reporting.
• Proven track record successfully raising six-figure+ grants from philanthropic foundations and donors, particularly in the US, UK and Europe.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to process large amounts of information quickly and succinctly.
• Ability to work within and navigate a complex and decentralised environment with different cultures, languages and skill-sets.
• Ability to work with and support numerous projects and teams concurrently, working both independently and as part of globally distributed teams.
• Experience working on environmental and social justice issues and a strong affinity with FoEI's vision, mission, and values.
• English fluency, both spoken and written; working knowledge of Spanish or French would be a plus.
DESIRED
• Direct experience participating in coalition-based proposal development and collaborative fundraising processes with NGO networks and social movements.
• Experience in fundraising from the EU/countries that provide development aid.
• Experience in developing and supporting implementation of PMEL systems, in particular supporting teams to build theories of change, results frameworks, and compelling objectives, indicators, and outcomes for proposed projects.
WHAT FoEI OFFERS

About the role

The Events Community Fundraiser will lead the development and delivery of RABI’s community events programme, working closely with volunteers, regional supporters, and local stakeholders. This pivotal role focuses on organising and supporting fundraising events that unite our community while driving vital income generation. The Events Community Fundraiser will not manage every community fundraising event directly, but will provide the necessary support, training and guidance to ensure volunteers and local teams are equipped to execute fundraising activities successfully.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Supporter Care Fundraiser will be responsible for providing exceptional stewardship and support to our valued supporters, including donors and volunteers (committee members and non-committee members). SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Events & Marketing Coordinator will play an essential role in delivering high-impact engagement activities and supporting the wider work of RABI’s Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Events & Engagement Manager, you’ll help coordinate the charity’s presence at a wide range of events -including agricultural shows, external affairs engagements, conferences and community activities, ensuring a consistently professional and compelling presence across England and Wales. You will play a key part in engaging with supporters, volunteers, ambassadors and the public, representing RABI with warmth and professionalism.
The role will also help collate and provide valuable marketing and content support, including supporting the capturing of photography and video for use on digital channels, assisting with the development of volunteer and ambassador case studies, and supporting CRM data collection and engagement surveys. This is an exciting, hands-on, outward-facing role suited to an organised, creative and personable team player.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Coordination and Delivery
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of national and regional events including agricultural shows, external affairs events, volunteer engagement activities and community outreach initiatives.
- Support event logistics such as venue booking, catering, AV, signage, promotional materials, staffing, travel, and health and safety compliance.
- Coordinate post-event evaluation, collecting feedback, attendance data, and impact measures to inform future planning.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive events calendar.
Marketing and Promotional Support
- Work with the MarComms team to coordinate event and show related content for social media, digital platforms and printed collateral.
- Ensure all events, shows and conferences are added to RABI’s website and online calendar.
- Assist with design and distribution of promotional materials, using templates in Canva and maintaining brand consistency.
- Help to prepare pre-event and post-event communications including invitations, newsletters and thank-you communications.
- Manage and maintain an up-to-date inventory of promotional stock and branded materials.
- Support the wider MarComms team on cross-department projects and campaigns.
Stakeholder, Volunteer and Ambassador Engagement
- Liaise with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure smooth event operations and representation.
- Coordinate volunteer and ambassador attendance at events and help ensure a positive experience.
- Provide on-site support at key events, acting as a friendly and informed ambassador for RABI.
Administrative and Reporting Duties
- Support the Events Manager with budget tracking and processing of invoices and expenses.
- Ensure accurate record keeping in the CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics).
- Support internal coordination meetings and help document action points and timelines.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in event delivery, marketing or a related role.
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in managing social media platforms and scheduling tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels and be confident and professional in a public-facing role.
- A self-starter and team player, able to accept direction, yet work independently.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask under pressure.
- Eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, mission-led events.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office suite and online platforms such as Teams, Canva or similar.
- Willingness to travel across England and Wales and to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
Desirable
- Experience working in rural or agricultural settings, or an understanding of the farming sector.
- Welsh language proficiency (spoken and/or written) is desirable for this role, to support effective comms and engagement with Welsh-speaking stakeholders and communities.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics).
- Basic design or social media experience using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Full UK driving licence.
