Rate: £325 per day
Remote: Home based (within the UK) with travel

About the Role

As the National Body for Youth Work in England, we are ambitious for youth work and for young people and are determined that all young people should have the opportunity to benefit from the life-changing impact of qualified youth workers and trained volunteers.

To support our mission, the National Youth Agency is establishing a framework of Programme Associates to assist with the delivery of our work across England.

Appointment to the framework means you may be invited to contribute to projects that align with your expertise. However, inclusion on the framework does not guarantee work will be offered, nor does it imply a specific volume or frequency of engagements. Opportunities will be offered on a flexible, as-needed basis, depending on programme requirements and your availability.

Our NYA Programme Associates will deliver on key aspect of NYA programmes to external stakeholders, develop and review resources and ensure all activities are in line with both NYA and external expectations of quality and expertise.

The post will require a commitment to continuing engagement across the sector and beyond to ensure the NYA’s work is rooted in the needs of young people and youth work.

The NYA brings structure, expertise, support, and guidance to people working in and with youth work and helps shape professional and voluntary youth work practices in England and beyond.

Strategic and operational planning and research

• Maintaining the database of critical information (pipeline proposals, meetings, grants and donations.

• Collaborate with the CEO to support/enable them to develop engagement with HFHGB.  Represent HFHGB externally at a senior level, building the organisational profile.

Skills and competencies:

• Extensive knowledge of trusts, foundations and high net worth individual fundraising best practice.
• Proven experience of raising 6 and 7 figure gifts from Trusts, Foundations and High Net Worth Individuals.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans for high value donors/ trusts and foundations.
• A strong track record of overseeing prospect research, pipeline development and delivering growth.
• Extensive experience of producing high quality and compelling donor facing proposals, reports and other materials.

• Strategic Grant Income Growth: Developing and delivering an ambitious pipeline of grants income that not only meets but exceeds our annual agreed income budgets. • Grant Funder Relationships: Cultivating and expanding deep, long-term, and genuinely mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse portfolio of military and non-military grant-making organisations.

I am responsible for:  

• Grant Strategy & Planning: Developing and implementing the grants strategy with a comprehensive, rolling programme of grant applications that are perfectly aligned with our charity’s strategic plans and agreed annual budget. We'll be focusing on securing those larger, transformative grants that make a real difference to starting each year with a higher percentage of funding already secured.  

• Funder Research & Identification: Proactively researching and identifying new, high-potential funding opportunities that truly resonate with Scotty's mission and strategic priorities. This means using industry best practices and relationship building to find our perfect partners.  

• Proposal Development & Submission: Leading the end-to-end development of high-quality, persuasive grant applications. This involves crafting compelling narratives from the heart, developing robust budgets factoring in overheads, and ensuring timely submission.   

• Relationship Management & Stewardship: Building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with both our existing and prospective funders. This means regular, personalised communication, sharing impactful updates and acting as a Scotty’s ambassador at funder events and meetings.  

• Grant Management & Reporting: Meticulously managing all stages of awarded grants, including careful financial tracking (using Salesforce), ensuring we always adhere to grant agreements, and compiling comprehensive, insightful end-of-project reports that truly demonstrate our impact and foster continued support.  

• Internal Collaboration: Working closely with our Families team, Finance Team, Comms Team and Fundraising Team to identify funding needs, gather powerful impact data, and ensure seamless delivery and awareness of all grant-funded activities. We work to weekly transparent Success Measures (3 key agreed metrics which help show we’ve had a great week and give leading and lagging indicators on how we’re doing), monthly and quarterly budget targets and short, daily and weekly team huddles to share good news, keep our culture forefront and ensure we can best support each other and deliver for the charity.  

• Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of grant opportunities, regularly tracking progress, and providing accurate forecasting to help us make smart, strategic decisions for our future.   

• Data Management: Ensuring all grant funding information, relationships, and communications are accurately inputted and updated on our charity’s CRM database (Salesforce). Keeping things tidy and organised is key for good governance.  

• Grants landscape: Staying abreast of the trends and developments in the grants and trusts sector, identifying new approaches and opportunities to enhance Scotty's fundraising efforts and keep us ahead of the curve.  

• Team Support: Providing a helping hand with administrative support to other areas of the charity if required. We're all good team players here at Scotty's, and we always support each other.  

3-Month Goals:  

• Onboarding & Immersion: Dive deep and achieve a comprehensive understanding of Scotty’s operating system (The Scotty’s OS), our values, our behaviours, our mission, and the significant impact we have. This will happen through intro meetings with everyone on the team and a tailored onboarding program.  

• Grant Portfolio Audit & Handover: Conduct an audit of our existing grant portfolio, reviewing active grants, reporting schedules, and our funder relationships. We'll begin the handover process for existing relationships with the Head of Fundraising, ensuring a smooth transition.  

• Funder Engagement & Feedback: Reach out and initiate contact with at least 5 key existing funders. This is about listening, gathering their valuable feedback, understanding their priorities, and beginning to build those personal, trusting rapports.  

• Pipeline Initiation: Identify and qualify a minimum of 5 new potential grant-making organisations. We'll prioritise those who truly align with Scotty's mission and have the capacity for significant, multi-year funding – our future partners.  

6-Month Goals:  

• Income Target Ownership: Take full, enthusiastic ownership of ensuring we are on track to hit our existing grant budget lines. You'll provide regular and accurate forecasting, keeping us all informed and confident.  

• Relationship Deepening: Strengthen relationships with at least 5 key funders, leading to demonstrable progress towards increased or renewed multi-year support.  

• New Grant Acquisition: Secure at least 2 new grants of significant value (e.g. £10k+) from previously untapped funders, showcasing your success in converting those pipeline opportunities into real impact.  

• Strategic Grant Mapping: Develop a comprehensive grant funding strategy, outlining key target areas, funder tiers, and a detailed timeline for our major applications for the next 12-18 months.   

• Impact Reporting Enhancement: Collaborate internally to refine and enhance our reporting mechanisms. We want to ensure our data is readily available and tells the most compelling story for our funder reports.  

9-Month Goals:  

• Multi-Year Grant Success: Secure at least one new multi-year grant partnership with an annual income of £50k+, truly demonstrating your ability to unlock larger, sustained funding that makes a lasting difference.  

• Pipeline Expansion & Value: Add £100k+ of new, qualified grant fundraising opportunities to our pipeline each month, always with a keen eye on those high-value prospects.  

• Income Exceedance: Be on track to exceed the annual grant fundraising target, demonstrating strong performance and strategic growth that helps more bereaved military families.  

• Innovation & Best Practice: Introduce at least one innovative approach or best practice (e.g. involving AI) to our grant fundraising strategy. This could be a new, heartwarming cultivation event, a bespoke reporting format, or a new research methodology – anything that helps us grow.  

• Personal Development & Leadership: Review your personal development needs and opportunities, actively seeking ways to enhance your leadership in the grants sector and contribute to the wider fundraising team's success. We believe in growing together.  

Essential Criteria  

• Proven experience in charity grant management.  

• Strategic planning: Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate grant strategies that align with the charity’s mission and objectives.  

• Financial acumen: Competence in budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting for grant programmes.  

• Stakeholder engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with funders, beneficiaries, partners, and internal teams.  

• Analytical and decision-making ability: Skilled in assessing applications, monitoring outcomes, and making evidence-based decisions.

Location: Devon/Hybrid

About the Role

As Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer, you will support the design and implementation of evidenced-based projects. This will enable the organisation to deliver high quality programmes, monitoring and evaluating impact and conducting data analysis, playing an essential role in ensuring accountability and improving information management and data quality.

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include

· Supporting the regional Programmes and Partnerships Advisors, International teams, and partners throughout the project cycle, to ensure that MEL activities and requirements are fully integrated into project and programme plans and budgets.

· Supporting the Programme Design and Impact Advisor (PDIA) to ensure that funded projects are effectively and efficiently monitored and evaluated and that learnings are captured, understood, shared and embedded into future work.

· Supporting the PDIA to promote and embed the use of the International Theory of Change and Quality Standards into ways of working.

· Supporting the implementation of, and conducting regular reviews into, the International Results Framework and associated MEL tools.

· Leading the collection, collation, storage, analysis and reporting of project and programme data, in line with the International Results Framework, to help demonstrate and communicate the impact of our international work.

· Supporting the preparation and review of internal reports in collaboration with programme staff, ensuring high-quality reporting, and that learning is captured and utilised.

· Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and learning practices across the UK and international teams, as well as partners, through training, workshops, webinars, etc.

About You

We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level or has the equivalent in experience.

You will also have:

· Demonstrable skills in monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and learning methods; including knowledge of best practices and experience with M&E frameworks, feedback, and learning processes.

· Significant knowledge or experience of conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

· Proven experience of developing MEL training and mentoring approaches, designing and facilitating participatory capacity development activities targeted to non-expert audiences.

· A practical understanding of the principal evaluation methodologies, and data collection and analysis techniques.

· Competent IT skills, including MS Office

· Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor approach for a wide range of audiences.

About the role

Iswe is a social impact foundation dedicated to finding ways to put people at the heart of social and political decision-making to solve some of society’s greatest challenges. 

We are seeking a proactive, organised and values-driven Project Coordinator to support the delivery of the Global Citizens’ Assembly. This is a pivotal role, providing core operational and logistical support, enabling Iswe to deliver a high-quality, inclusive, and impactful Civic Assembly as part of the Global Citizens’ Assembly.

You will work closely with the Civic Assembly Delivery Manager and Programme Director, supporting work around governance, research, evaluation and partnerships.

The role holder may occasionally need to work unusually long hours or at inconvenient times (due to the international nature of this project, but we aim to keep this to a minimum). The period when this is most likely will be mid-January to mid-February 2026 (Wednesdays and Saturdays; exact dates to be confirmed).

Key responsibilities

Operational and administrative support

• Organise cross-team coordination meetings and internal updates with the Programme Director and Delivery Manager.

• Maintain shared calendars, folders, task trackers, and the Civic Assembly delivery schedule in collaboration with the Delivery Manager.

• Provide administrative support for project team meetings, including scheduling, agendas, notes, and follow-up actions.

• Track budgets and delivery-related expenditure with the Delivery Manager.

• Manage contracts, documents, and partner relationship records.

• Support workflow integration across research, evaluation, user research, data, impact, and communications teams.

• Maintain the team’s risk register and act in line with data protection and security policies.

• Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day organisational tasks.

• Occasionally assist with travel bookings and visa arrangements for partners.

• Assist with other operational or administrative tasks as required and as capacity allows

Governance coordination

• Support the Civic Assembly Team in convening advisory and oversight boards, including scheduling meetings and tracking decisions and milestones.

• Compile documentation for reporting, particularly on governance and process transparency.

• Maintain accurate, timely records of all governance activities, upholding GCA’s commitments to accountability and ‘deliberating in the open’.

Civic Assembly delivery coordination

• Support the Delivery Manager and Programme Director in maintaining the Civic Assembly’s overall project delivery plan, timelines and task tracking.

• Assist the Delivery Manager to develop a delivery plan, workflows, and risk management strategies.

• Lead the implementation of the delivery plan with the supportive oversight of the Delivery Manager and Programme Director.

• Ensure accessibility, inclusion, safeguarding, translation and wellbeing protocols are implemented in practice.

• Coordinate the execution of Civic Assembly sessions, including the scheduling (and possibly hosting) of plenary videocalls, ensure all personnel have access to the videocall links and resources they require to participate.

Coordination and support of global delivery personnel

• Support Regional Leads by monitoring recruitment of Facilitators and Notetakers, helping fill any shortfalls ahead of the Civic Assembly.

• Liaise between the Process Team and delivery personnel (Facilitators, Notetakers, Editors), including scheduling and coordinating training.

• Coordinate Facilitators: Distribute materials, manage schedules and substitutions, and maintain regular communications for logistical updates and motivation.

• Coordinate Notetakers: Convene regular team meetings, maintain ongoing communications, manage schedules and substitutions (occasionally stepping in as a Notetaker), and organise outputs for Editors.

• Provide ongoing logistical support to Facilitators and Notetakers throughout the Assembly.

• Act as a primary point of contact for Regional Leads, ensuring their work is well-supported.
   

Assembly participant support & engagement

• Support Regional Leads in assessing and addressing the inclusion needs of Community Hosts and Assembly Members, including arranging internet connectivity where required.

• Oversee and adapt participation processes to ensure diversity, accessibility, and wellbeing.

• Coordinate the distribution of materials and resources to Assembly Members via Regional Leads and Community Hosts.

• Monitor and respond to emerging needs within the mini‑public infrastructure, including technical support and pastoral care as necessary.

Research & evaluation coordination

• Support the Research & Evaluation Lead in implementing the project’s research framework and evaluation plan.

• Collate data, insights, and learning from delivery and research teams.

• Assist with drafting and editing sections of the final project report and learning briefs.
   

Skills and experience

Essential

• At least 3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in civic engagement and/or non-profit contexts.

• Demonstrated experience managing logistics and operational delivery of complex projects.

• Extremely organised with attention to detail whilst being able to navigate uncertainty and changing priorities.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal.

• Confidence working with a range of internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Proactive and able to spot and execute tasks which may have been missed in planning.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.

• Competence in document management, minute-taking, shared drives, and collaborative tools (e.g. Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Airtable); extremely competent with Google Sheets and Google Docs.

• Commitment to the values of inclusivity, accessibility, transparency and meaningful public participation.

• Familiarity with safeguarding, data protection, and wellbeing protocols.

Desirable

• Experience working in an international or cross-cultural setting.

• Experience in climate policy, food systems, environmental justice, or related fields.

• Familiarity with digital engagement platforms and hybrid event management.

• Understanding of participatory and/or deliberative democracy methodologies.
