Job description

We are seeking a Post 16 SEND Teacher to assist individuals aged 16 – 25 with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP). Manchester Young Lives Learning Hubs offer a comprehensive learning environment where young people receive the necessary support to flourish and successfully transition to employment, further education, or training. We collaborate with young people to establish personal goals and targets that bolster their learning and development, and we provide chances to participate in work or volunteer placements.

In the role of a Post 16 SEND Teacher, you will join a close-knit team dedicated to creating a secure and supportive environment where young people can feel safe. Your responsibilities will include teaching Functional Skills in English and Maths to small groups of students with diverse abilities, as well as conducting dynamic and inventive enrichment activities to foster life and employability skills, encouraging young people to have confidence in themselves.

If you are passionate and committed to impacting the lives of young people, we encourage you to contact us. We welcome applications from experienced teachers looking to re-enter education in a non-traditional setting after a career break, as well as from newly qualified teachers with suitable experience in working with children and young people with additional needs. We allocate time for preparation and planning within your work schedule. This position is full-time, but we are open to discussing job sharing, reduced hours, or flexible working options with the ideal candidate.
