We are looking for two Community Energy Engagement Advisers to join our Retail and Cadent teams to deliver energy support sessions in local communities using the Scope retail stores in the North or South regions. 

Fixed term 2 years, 35 hours a week

We are recruiting for 2 positions, one in the North Region and one in the South Region.

Location: Base to be confirmed, working within the North or South region with some working from home.

The role 

As Community Energy Engagement Adviser, you will be empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. You will train retail staff and volunteers to engage with individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on energy advice and support.

The service will help customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty. 

The successful candidate must pass an Enhanced DBS check

You will:

• Plan and deliver training for retail staff and volunteers on energy support.
• Work with local organisations to reach those needing energy advice.
• Create and share information on energy saving, bill management, and renewable energy benefits.
• Track and evaluate the effectiveness of community sessions and individual interventions, and adjust strategies as needed.
• Keep updated on energy sector changes, legislation, grants, and best practices.
• Ensure operations meet community needs and organisational goals.
• Follow organisational policies and industry regulations.
  Explore new technologies and partnerships to improve service delivery.

• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to support communities and individuals who would benefit most from energy advice and support. 
• Be able to plan and deliver engaging and informative energy support workshops within local communities, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of attendees. 
• Have the ability to show empathy and being able to respond positively to change while being able to deal effectively with conflicting priorities will allow to succeed within this role. 
• Good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products and are confident user of digital technology demonstrating a positive approach to the adoption of innovative products and tools.
• Be able to track and evaluate the impact of your community sessions and one-to-one interventions, adjusting strategies to improve outreach and support effectiveness. 
• Bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Head of Digital to join our Brand and Marketing Communications team on a 12 month maternity contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a newly formed digital responsible for both digital experience and digital engagement.

You will provide strategic expertise and direction to ensure that digital team are supported to deliver integrated and best practice marketing campaigns. Champion the ongoing development of the Young Lives vs Cancer website and work with the Digital Experience Manager to refine the roadmap for improvements.

You will be joining a collaborative and purpose driven team overseen by a committed board. This pivotal role will suit someone with curiosity, excellent research and analysis skills, and an interest in the connections between health, wellbeing, impact, and life events. 

Our team is drawn from a range of backgrounds spanning leaders and changemakers from across the financial services and social purpose sectors.  The reach and influence of our team makes this an exciting place to work and enables us to engage important stakeholders at the highest levels.

Some key responsibilities

· Identify research areas which will contribute to the development of fair, affordable and appropriate financial products and services

· Evaluate primary data to draw customer insights with the ability to work quickly on a diverse range of topics and to draw out the highlights and key findings and present them in a compelling manner to a range of stakeholders

· Research report writing including the development and maintenance of a list of key statistics and data points that can be used by the entire Fair4All Finance Team to justify and support our work and priority areas and be responsible for updating the statistics in our “State of the Market” presentations

The Community Energy Adviser will deliver energy support sessions in local communities, empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. The focus will be on assisting those facing challenges with their energy needs by providing practical advice, support, and advocacy on energy conservation, switching providers, and accessing grants or benefits. 

Fixed term for 2 years, 35 hours per week.

The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and may also include some Saturdays.

The Role

In this role you will be:

• Planning and delivering engaging and informative energy support workshops within local communities, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of attendees. 
• Providing one-to-one support to individuals requiring more in-depth assistance, including conducting home energy assessments and offering tailored advice. 
• Collaborating with local organisations and stakeholders to identify and reach out to communities and individuals who would benefit most from energy advice and support. 
• Developing and distributing educational materials on energy saving, bill management, and the benefits of renewable energy sources.

As we continue our exciting growth plans into 2024 to deliver on our ambitious goals and refreshed strategy, we’re looking for a Financial Controller to join our team.

This is a critical finance leadership appointment, with regular interaction with both the Leadership team and Board, as well as an extensive business partnering remit to enhance financial decision making across our strategic priorities and create a culture of continuous improvement.

• Lead on elements of Save the Children UK's strategy with minimum supervision, reflecting your high-level responsibilities, and articulate a compelling vision to inspire others to achieve our ambitious goals for children. 
• Play a leadership role in the technical design and delivery of high-quality, strategic, inclusive, and impactful programmes, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and particularly with colleagues in country offices and partners.
• Lead the development and implementation of technical strategies and products (such as best practice & evidence based approaches, minimum standards, and publications) to a high standard.   
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships, leading on engagement with partners to amplify impact.
• Drive research, evaluation, and innovation projects in your field of expertise, to expand the knowledge base, promote a learning culture and identify new / enhanced approaches to amplify impact. 

About you 
To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Experience and knowledge working in international development programming
• Experience of providing technical assistance and individual mentoring to NGO programmes teams in education
• Experience in the design, implementation and management of education programmes
• Experience of working in a matrix-managed context and promoting change across multiple networks
• Understanding of; child rights principles, gender and education & conflict sensitive education.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, and the ability to think and plan strategically; well-developed negotiation and communication skills, including spoken and written English.
• An internationally recognised postgraduate degree or equivalent experience
• Teacher training qualification or experience in teaching experience would be desirable
• Working knowledge of French is desirable
• Ability to travel up to 40% of work time.

Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter).  This will be agreed with your Line Manager and team and is intended to be time spent on collaborating with colleagues and relationship building.

• Salary: GBP 60,000-65,000 depending on experience (the range is aligned to London cost of living and would be adjusted according to the appointee's location)
• Location: Flexible. But must be prepared to work at least four hours per day 1300 – 1700 Coordinated Universal Time.  Location in London or Berlin may be an advantage.

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is seeking a Head of Communications to lead our high-performing communications team. The successful candidate will lead strategic, high-impact external communications across the organisation. They will work closely with our global team across 30 countries involved in research and analysis. They will bring talent, enthusiasm, knowledge and experience. This role currently manages a team of five and reports to the Executive Director. The communications team is tasked to ensure strategic and effective media, social media, and delivery of our digital platform to drive change.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic communications: Lead the strategic evolution of our global communications as a critical component of our strategies to make change happen. Drive impact by building strategic media and digital outreach that amplifies the work of ourselves and allies, and influences key audiences. Work across our global team to develop a shared understanding of grand strategy, key audiences, the fast-changing context, and how communications can drive positive change. With the management team, set the organisation’s communications strategy and ensure we have the right skills, knowledge, and connections to deliver it. Collaborate with regional and thematic leads to ensure our communications strategies help deliver the human rights impact our programmes seek with allies.
• Lead the communications team: Support a strong team, nurturing their skills to inspire effective and high-impact communications, with an emphasis on digital first. Ensure the work of the team is expertly planned and executed within budget and meets donor requirements. Deliver our performance management system throughout the year to ensure support, well-being, and accountability. Work with the Senior Management Team to manage strategic and operational opportunities and risks.
• Drive and execute innovative, advocacy-oriented communications: Work with senior management, regional and thematic teams to drive a dynamic approach to communications, alongside spotting proactive and reactive opportunities, building higher-level relationships with journalists and partners, and developing tactical approaches. Play an active role in executing impactful, advocacy-oriented communications strategies for key products and events.
• Digital action platform and technology: Work with the Web Content and Digital Officer to manage the development of the Resource Centre’s leading multi-functional digital platform, and our substantial data as compelling evidence. Develop an understanding of the organisation’s target audiences and ensure we deliver features that effectively support them to effectively organise and present their research data and promote human rights in business.
• Programme design and fundraising: Work with our development (fundraising) team and programme leads to ensure communications, and digital technology work is built into project design and budget, and that funders’ information needs are well-served.

Key competencies and attributes

Strategic communication: At least 5 years’ experience delivering top class communications and expert understanding of how strategic communications deliver change. Demonstrable experience in strategy design and execution. Sharp news sense and editorial judgement; strong grasp of the power of social media to make change happen; and a global perspective to communications.

People manager: At least 3 years’ experience in line management. Experience in nurturing and sustaining a high performing team that thrives in a diverse, and global context. Demonstrable success in supporting project teams to deploy communications strategically for impact.

Project manager: Track record of leading and/or implementing complex communications projects including planning, execution, and evaluation. Demonstratable success planning communications for a busy organisation working closely with allies.

Digital technology & data: Experience of design and delivery of website, digital tools, and data to make change happen. Experience of working with developers to manage and maintain a website.

Human rights, and economic justice expertise: Familiarity with social justice or human rights issues and a willingness to keep up to date. Experience communicating economic justice and human rights issues desirable.

Team player: Experience of, and commitment to, working in high-performing teams that are highly collaborative and focused on outcomes. Experience of working with colleagues remotely, and in multicultural and diverse working environments desirable.

Networking: Track record of developing strategic relationships to enhance communications and advocacy efforts, e.g. civil society partners, consultants, journalists, opinion-formers. Experience building relationships of trust and joint action with allied organisations is strongly desirable.

Languages: Must be fluent in English. Additionally, French, German, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian language skills would also be an asset (all languages of our digital action platform).
