About the role
We are seeking a technically capable, qualified accountant with strong knowledge of the Charities SORP to provide effective stewardship and oversight of the Finance function at Kinship. You will be responsible for financial controls, management accounting and ensuring the effective delivery of ‘business as usual’ financial management.
As well as producing monthly management accounts, you will be responsible for running the annual budget and the year-end processes, preparing for the yearly external audit and ensuring that the organisation complies with statutory obligations.
You will prepare papers for and attend the quarterly Finance Committee meetings and will liaise with a range of stakeholders including auditors, the bank and investment managers. You will be the ‘go to’ business partner at the charity, supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Fractional Chief Financial Officer.
You will manage a team of two colleagues – a Senior Finance Officer and a Payroll Manager – providing them with guidance, coaching and support to enable them to perform effectively. You will also collaborate and work with Directors and senior managers across the organisation to inform them on performance against budget and conditions of funding, as well as supporting fundraising and commissioning bids.
You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to organise conflicting priorities around the monthly management accounts cycle, while supporting the achievement of our strategic objectives. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to supporting transformational change in our processes and systems, as well as dealing with, and leading on, the day-to-day financial management.
This is a broad and challenging role for a dynamic and systems-driven individual who wants to grow within the organisation, proactively problem solve and help colleagues to deliver on our mission.
Essential requirements include:
- Fully qualified ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, standards and the Charities SORP, and experience of applying these in a service delivery organisation
- Experience managing a Finance function in a charity with £1-10m annual turnover
- Experience of line management and developing a team using approaches that are empowering
- Experience of Business Central, or the ability to quickly learn a new accounting system
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to use Pivot Tables and other functions to analyse large data sets

About the Community & Events Fundraising Officer role:
The Public Fundraising team are responsible for recruiting and stewarding new supporters in order to secure long-term income and growth. The Community & Events Fundraising Team sit within the Public fundraising team with the aim of raising essential funds for Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) by organising various fundraising initiatives to engage fundraisers, raise awareness, and support the mission of RVS.
The primary purpose of this role is to maximise income generation by organising and delivering a variety of community fundraising initiatives, including third-party sporting events and RVS-owned campaigns such as the Vintage Tea Party.
The Community & Events Fundraiser will provide stewardship to support fundraisers, building strong relationships to maximise amounts raised and boost supporter retention. Additionally, you will support the Community & Events Manager in building and maintaining relationships with RVS Community Centres, services, and groups, and in evolving the community fundraising programme. This includes developing flagship fundraising products, events, activities, and targeting specific fundraising audiences.
Location: This role is Home based with occasional national travel

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Data Services, the Data Officer will meet data needs relating to the management and delivery of supporter and engagement products. You will work alongside three other Data Officers to assess, prioritise and provide solutions including the building of data selections and journeys for direct marketing purposes and the running of supporter data imports and exports.
Experience of using CRM Dynamics, Faststats and PeopleStage and or any Donor CRM for marketing purposes will make you a person of interest to us. We will support you in learning to use any of the tools and applications used and actively encourage the development of your data and analytical skills. Communication skills play a key part in this role, because you will need to be able to talk through or present selections or solutions to stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:

About the role
Funded by the Department for Education, the National Peer Support Service for England is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and over two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form peer support groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub.
You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.
About you
We are seeking a dynamic person located in or close to Greater Manchester, and willing to travel into priority areas across the North West of England who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
- Establish new peer support groups across a diverse range of communities
- Supervise a small team of Peer Support Development Officers
- Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to inspire yourself and your team to achieve key targets and objectives
- Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective support services for the kinship community

In the role of Senior Peer Support Development Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, consistent, and sustainable peer support service that has a significant impact on the lives of kinship carers.
You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey toward sustainability.
An essential requirement of the role is to be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Essential requirements include:
- Experience of team leadership or line management and supervision of a small team and managing performance to deliver targets effectively.
- Proven experience in reaching and establishing strong relationships with hidden or underserved communities in person.
- Experience developing peer support communities.
- Proven experience of recruiting, managing, training and supporting volunteers in community settings with an emphasis on understanding and working with vulnerable volunteers.
- Proven experience of ensuring outcomes and impacts of services is evidenced through high-quality data collection.
- Evidence of delivering training/support to volunteers,
- Strong facilitation skills and essential experience of peer support or user led groups with charity beneficiaries.

A mission-driven and impact focused single programme NGO is seeking a Finance Business Partner with strong financial modelling skills for a part-time, fully remote fixed term contract for approximately 4-6 months. The role is to support the Finance Director, HR team, CEO and other stakeholders with business partnering, along with specific financial modelling projects.
The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive. They have developed an award-winning Early Childhood Development programme, proven its impact through rigorous evaluation, and scaled it with governments in both Ghana and Uganda. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. The programme benefits both preschool age children and unlocks the potential of marginalised rural parents.
You will work in a busy finance team based in the UK, Ghana and Uganda. The role can be done fully-remotely from within the UK, and the salary range on offer is circa £50,000 - £60,000 FTE (pro-rata). It is anticipated there will be around 2-3 days work per week for approximately 4-6 months.
Experience within a business partnering / modelling role within the NGO sector would be very useful, but is not essential.
Duties include:
- Work focused on adaptions for new contexts: The programme targets rural communities in Ghana and Uganda. This year the organisation plans to scale to a new country and to test ways to adapt it for this new context. They are also keen to explore whether the programme can be adapted for refugee settings.

The UK Cyber Security Council works to bring together stakeholders to build and drive engagement in the cyber security profession, through developing standards and ethical practice, demystifying career routes into the profession and promoting the profession.
In collaboration with multiple UK Government departments and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) we develop, promote and oversee nationally recognised standards for cyber security, in support of the UK Government’s National Cyber Strategy to make the UK the safest place to live and work online.
The UK Cyber Security Council also offers organisational membership, which is open to all organisations that share an interest in promoting, supporting, and developing the cyber security profession.
About the role:
The Business Support Officer role sits within the Professionalisation team at the Council which develops and manages a range of products including the development and management of the Council Standard, cyber security specialisms and professional titles. The team is also responsible for managing and supporting licensed bodies, developing the career framework, and implementing and managing processes for mapping to our Professional Titles.
The role is varied but primarily administrative with scope for the role holder to develop skills and experience in project management, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (not necessarily in priority order)
· Support the Professionalisation team with the development, implementation and management of cyber security specialisms, mapping and business as usual requirements.
· Undertake administrative tasks across the Professionalisation team that contribute to the professional registration processes enabling cyber professionals to apply for Chartered, Principal, Practitioner and Associate registration.
· Co-lead the Youth Advisory Panel with colleagues with support from the Project Manager – Careers & Skills as required.
· Assist with project and risk documentation. Support and assist with maintaining detailed project plans, models, and tools.
· Provide relationship and stakeholder management and administration where required.
· Organise and support the facilitation of panels, committees, webinars, and other events.
· Liaise with partner organisations and support the delivery of professional registration workshops for applicants/registrants.
· Assist with pilot programmes and transitions as agreed with the line manager, including taking meeting minutes and updating documents including action and risk logs.
· Ensure that appropriate records are added and maintained through the use of the organisation’s CRM system and professional registration Register.
· Contribute to a cohesive approach with colleagues across the organisation maintaining open and effective communication with internal and external colleagues.
· Assist with the preparation of progress reports, as required, for Senior Leadership team.
· Comply with data protection legislation and act responsibly on matters of data disclosure both internally and to third parties.
· Carry out ad-hoc tasks, for the team, supporting the effective and efficient functioning of the Council.
· Represent the Council in a professional manner and act, at all times, in a manner that will not damage its reputation.
· Work from a positive, growth mindset, to solve issues and problems that may arise and to adhere to the organisation’s values.
Essential Criteria
· Experienced administrative and effective organisational skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to a wide audience
· Experience of supporting projects, working to deadlines and managing a varied workload
· Enthusiasm to grow in and with an early-stage organisation
· Good professional judgment and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
· Ability to work positively in a remote and fast paced team within the organisation
· Excellent IT and digital skills including Microsoft 365
Desirable
· Knowledge of the cyber security profession
· Knowledge of professional registration and ethics
· Experience of working with diverse and professional stakeholders and maintaining sustainable stakeholder relationships
· Experience using databases, CRM systems and/or project management tools
· Experience working with committees, panels, volunteers and subject matter experts
· Experience of, or a demonstratable interest in education management, careers or outreach activities
