Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience:

3. Lead on project development across both volunteering and employability as we grow our offer and launch a number of major organisational developments. This will include but is not limited to; policy, strategy, role and process development.

4. Build and work with our volunteer, employability and warehouse teams to ensure that they have the skills, knowledge, support and training opportunities needed to manage the volunteer workforce and deliver the employability programs across the charity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Line Management:

· Line management of Volunteer Manager based at Bedminster and St Jude’s in Bristol and the Volunteer team at Sisna Park in Plymouth

· Line management of two Employability Programme Leads based at both Bedminster and Inner-city Bristol office and future Plymouth based Employability staff

· Recruit and contract for any staffing gaps in the Volunteer and Employability Teams based on skills and expertise required

Volunteer Recruitment, Retention & Development:

· Oversee the volunteer managers who run the day-to-day of the volunteer programme

· Oversee the Volunteer teams to create a recruitment and retention plan to build a reliable voluntary workforce

· Support in any required monitoring and evaluation of the volunteering function

· Work with the Fundraising, Volunteer and Partnerships teams to develop corporate volunteering across Bristol and Plymouth, which generates a flow of committed corporate volunteers and income

· Support the development of the enrichment and pastoral aspect of the volunteer journey provided by the volunteer teams

About the Role

This is a role where you’ll really see the difference you make.

As Educational Partnerships Manager, you’ll work across North West and South West London, building partnerships with schools, colleges, youth organisations and community groups—particularly in areas where opportunities are hardest to come by.

You’ll be right in the mix: planning events, delivering programmes, supporting volunteers and connecting with school staff to make sure young people have access to our inspiring enterprise and financial education experiences.

You’ll be a key driver of our Inspiring Futures programme—helping young people break down barriers and imagine bigger futures.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and grow relationships with schools, colleges, youth clubs and local communities
• Focus on expanding our reach in areas of multiple deprivation and underrepresentation
• Deliver and support the rollout of YE programmes in schools and other settings
• Recruit, train and support volunteers—making sure they feel valued and inspired
• Work with your regional team to meet shared goals and celebrate local impact
• Help secure local funding by supporting fundraising efforts and managing project deliverables
• Support the planning of events, trade fairs and celebrations for young people
• Keep accurate records, track impact, and make sure safeguarding is front and centre

A few practical things:

• This is a hands-on role—you’ll sometimes be lifting resources, setting up venues and travelling regularly (a car and full driving licence are essential)
• You’ll need to be happy occasionally working evenings or weekends during peak delivery times
• Expect to be on your feet during some events or sessions—it’s all part of the fun!

Research and Impact Manager

circa £50,000 per annum + excellent benefits

Role:

The Royal Foundation is recruiting a Research and Impact Manager for the Homewards programme, which seeks to demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness and inspire others to replicate effective practice.

The successful candidate will be a champion for evidence-led decision making, committed to generating robust research and evaluation and ensuring the programme is grounded in evidence. This role will ensure they generate high quality, compelling evidence about the effectiveness of interventions tested through the programme and facilitate a culture of learning to improve delivery and maximise impact.

This new role will sit within The Royal Foundation’s in-house Research & Impact Team, which provides research and evaluation expertise and delivers key insights across our programmes of work, to help design and deliver programmes and understand impact. This role is central to their effort to make The Royal Foundation evidence-led and cutting edge, helping maximise impact across the range of issues they support.

Core Responsibilities:

• Scope, commission, and manage evaluation projects to generate actionable evidence for commissioning and service delivery, ensuring effective supplier, project management, and contractor relationships
• Monitor project progress to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery of high-quality evaluations, meeting objectives and adhering to policies
• Collate evaluation and programme data for organization-level impact reports
• Analyse research data and conduct desk research to support the Homewards programme team in scoping future activities
• Provide day-to-day support to the Senior Research and Impact Manager in overseeing research and evaluation across the Homewards programme
• Disseminate evidence effectively through various channels and support the interpretation and application of learnings to a wide range of stakeholders
• Provide updates for internal and external stakeholders, including the Board and Homewards partners
• Advise programme partners on research and evaluation design and delivery for action plans
• Identify and mitigate risks through strong project management
• Ensure compliance with Market Research Society (MRS) standards and GDPR for data handling
• Support the Research and Impact team in developing and delivering the research strategy
• Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

Candidate:

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing research and evaluation projects
• Strong understanding of evaluation techniques, including expertise in commissioning various evaluation approaches, including process, quantitative impact, and theory-based evaluations
• Experience in developing procurement materials and briefing external suppliers, managing research commissions, and ensuring quality and compliance with financial and contractual requirements
• Proven ability to draft research materials, analyse data, and produce high-quality outputs (quantitative and qualitative)
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data from a range of sources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, skilled in communicating research findings to both internal teams and external audiences, including non-researchers
• Able to work independently and prioritise own tasks and time, has an excellent eye for detail, and can work collaboratively and effectively with others
• Optimistic and energetic outlook, keen to maximise the positive change that the Homewards programme can deliver
• Relationship builder. Adaptable and has a flexible approach to plans, able to respond confidently and positively to changing scenarios, seize opportunities and solve problems.

Launched in 2017, 2027 was born out of a desire to shift power in the grant-making sector. It aims to bridge the gap between funders and the communities they serve—particularly by addressing the lack of people with lived experience of working-class communities in decision-making roles. 2027 helps change who is involved in making funding decisions and how those decisions are made.

The Job

About the role 

This is a key role in providing administration and organisational support to the CEO and the Board. The successful candidate must have the ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative skills, and the ability to maintain a balance among multiple priorities. This is a part-time position with flexibility on the number of days worked each week, with a minimum of one to two days in the office. 

What you will be doing 

• Manage the Chief Executive's schedule and diary ensuring there is adequate time for meeting preparation and follow-up. 
• Provide project support and co-ordinate briefing packs for the Chief Executive to ensure they have comprehensive information for any meetings and activities. 
• Manage the Boards meeting schedule and calendar of events. 
• Attend meetings, including the Annual General Meeting, to take and produce accurate minutes and update the Rolling Agenda and Actions Sheet. 
• Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

About London Youth 

We are London Youth: a charity on a mission to support the capital's youth sector to improve the lives of young people. We do this with and through our members - a network of six hundred youth organisations - and at our two outdoor residential centres, Hindleap Warren and Woodrow High House. 

Throughout our 135-year history, community youth organisations have provided a constant lifeline and vital space outside the family and formal education, where young people can develop confidence, resilience and skills. Young people need opportunities outside school to have fun with their friends, to make a positive change in their communities, and to shape the city they live in. 

We look to work with all young people, focusing particularly on those who would not otherwise have access to the kind of opportunities we offer. 

In 2023-24, we worked with 591 member youth organisations who supported more than 710k young Londoners. 28,676 young people took part in our programme, events, and activities, with nearly 18,000 enjoying activities at our two outdoor learning centres, Woodrow and Hindleap. We supported 2,000 youth professionals at over 184 of our training and network sessions. 

South East London Mind’s award-winning Mindful Mums programme aims to build resilience and prevent pregnant and new mums from developing mental health problems during the perinatal period (pregnancy up to 1 year). The service has supported over 4,000 parents within the last eight years.

We are looking for a Senior Project Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to act as our Single Point of Access for professionals, service users and volunteers. The role is responsible for managing all referrals, providing holistic and person-centred support to vulnerable women experiencing mental health challenges. The role will provide high quality and supportive line management of staff, and will oversee the recruitment life cycle of volunteers to the Mindful Mums project, including interviews, onboarding, training and supervision.

You will be highly organised with experience of staff and data management in a target-driven environment. Working independently but collaboratively, you will take a solution-focused approach to improve processes and will be able to utilise databases to produce and analyse reports. You will also be a confident facilitator, as some group and training delivery will be expected.

This role would ideally suit a parent who has successfully managed their own perinatal mental health problems and those with good understanding of promoting positive perinatal mental wellbeing.
