The Major Gifts Stewardship Assistant is responsible for an existing portfolio of approximately 150+ individual, trust, and corporate donor relationships. Main responsibilities include:

· Maintaining the current portfolio of donors.

· Uplifting donors to give at higher levels, where possible.

· Supporting the trusts and foundations of new business processes through research and outreach.

Job Purpose:

To be an integral part of the Philanthropy team, providing stewardship to individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporate supporters (typically, yet not exclusively, at the £5,000 to £20,000 level). You will be responsible for a portfolio of major donors, ensuring their continued support of MSF.

This role is responsible for delivering the operational backbone of the ICA including the maintenance and upkeep of our grade one listed premises on the Mall. Overseeing a range of building management and operational duties, this person will ensure the facilities are fit for purpose, safe and secure, comfortable and in good state of repair. They will ensure operational policies and procedures are compliant with relevant legislation. They will also ensure IT and office management processes are effectively delivered. The Active Wellbeing programme (AW)

The Active Wellbeing programme is a specialist mental health exercise referral programme. This programme is designed to engage and promote health and wellbeing to people diagnosed with a severe mental illness (SMI). The programme involves delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with severe mental health illnesses (SMI) which can include: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Severe Clinical Depression.  

The Active Wellbeing programme – Learning Disabilities (AW)

The Active Wellbeing programme is expanding to work with adults with learning disabilities who also have a long and enduring mental health condition. The programme LD involves delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with long and enduring mental health conditions and individuals with learning disabilities.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver a weekly physical activity session for each client considering safety and progression with each of the 10 sessions. 
• Monitor clients exercise intensity, type, and ability to ensure clients are exercising safely.
• Monitoring clients mental wellbeing during sessions to ensure safety and communicating any concerns to the line manager.
• Responsible for arranging weekly sessions with clients (and in some cases carers alongside)
• High level of communication between instructor and client (in some cases carers or support workers) to confirm session times and locations.
• High level of communication between instructor and line manager to report any concerns with a clients mental and physical wellbeing during sessions.
• Provide motivation and encouragement for clients to engage in sessions and stay engaged in their programme. 
• Responsible for the setup of equipment for outdoor or online sessions.
• Responsible with checking in and out of sessions with the admin team to ensure safety of both instructor and client. 
• Responsible for checking the safety of equipment. If equipment is faulty and needs to be replaced, responsible for communicating this with the Active Wellbeing programme coordinator. 
• Responsible for administering first aid in the event of an accident and ensuring that safety requirements are met in all areas.

• Reviewing existing insights and conducting research to refine existing and new peer-to-peer programmes for Hatch founders and graduates
• Engaging mentors, experts and facilitators, where applicable, to support with the leadership of peer-to-peer programmes 
• Planning, facilitating and evaluating networking opportunities for founders to build and foster  community engagement
• Developing and managing  support  opportunities for our graduates to increase their access to capital, contracts, and connections
• Working collaboratively with Marketing and Communications team to drive engagement through founder and graduate communication channels
• Managing the content strategy and maintenance of the Resource Hub, to ensure accessibility of content for founders outside of a cohort programme

Systems and administration

• Maintaining the KPI tracking system to record programme founder participation, feedback and learning outcomes
• Feeding into the development of a new CRM system to help us better manage our founder and partner relationships
• Supporting the development and maintenance of our calendar of activities, showcasing engagement opportunities to our founders and the public
• Reviewing and suggesting improvements and innovations  to systems and implementing system changes

Monitoring and evaluation

• Supporting the collection and collation of feedback from volunteers, mentors and founders in order to monitor and improve participant experience
• Working with the Fundraising team to report on Community Programme KPIs, anecdotal feedback, and to support with the generation of case studies, for funder reports and fundraising pitches
• Collecting and analysing relevant data for the resources webpage, graduate community platform, as well as keeping up to date with any relevant tech updates and training required for monitoring the data

Other 

• Gaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of Hatch’s work, priorities and future plans and acting as a spokesperson for the charity when required
• Representing Hatch externally at speaking  and networking opportunities 
• Other duties that may be required from time to time as part of a small, dynamic team

Person Specification 

• Excellent time-management and organisational skills
• Comfortable collecting and generating insights from data for reports
• Experience of working in a fast paced, complex environment, working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders and project managing cross-departmental work
• Exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, and comfortable talking to a wide range of people
• Online community management experience would be desirable
• Creative problem solving skills: always looking for things to improve and suggesting ways of improving them
• Ability to work independently , as well as collaboratively with the wider team, and identify potentially more effective ways of working
• A passion to support and connect underrepresented founders to start and grow businesses that will have a positive impact in the world
• Strong interest in equitable and impactful entrepreneurship – experience as an entrepreneur yourself would be a bonus
• Strong understanding of the entrepreneurship ecosystem across the UK and the needs and challenges of entrepreneurs

We have an exciting opportunity for an Activities and Events Co-Ordinator to join our team, based in London. You will be working on a full-time permanent basis (37.5 hours per week). In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,000-£32,000 per annum.

The Activities and Events Co-Ordinator role:

As our Activities and Events Co-Ordinator, you will be passionate for developing a programme of community activities and events that take place throughout the week, MondaySunday. The post-holder will co-ordinate a programme of activities that encourage local residents of all ages to be active, engaged and connected in the community.

Responsibilities of our Activities and Events Co-Ordinator will include:

• To plan, co-ordinate and deliver an annual programme of relevant and accessible activities, classes, events, workshops and outings that keep members of all ages engaged, learning new skills and active in the community
• To work collaboratively with St Luke's service leads and partner organisations ensuring the annual programme of activities and events is co-ordinated and reflects all aspects of St Luke's objectives
• To effectively identify the needs and interests of local residents effectively using a variety of consultation tools including our database, completing surveys and through evaluation
• In collaboration with the Communications Team, to create a range of marketing and promotional material for the activities and events  
• To research and recruit suitably qualified and experienced tutors and facilitators and supervise their involvement in delivering St Luke's programmes
• In collaboration with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to supervise and support a team of volunteers supporting the programme of activities and event
• To report on and review attendance monitoring systems assessing the impact and quality of activities and events
• To maintain efficient manual and computer-based records of data in line with current guidance and procedures
• To oversee and assist in the upkeep of the facilities and equipment reporting defects or issues as necessary

Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities we are looking for in our ideal Activities and Events Co-Ordinator:

• Experience of working in a community setting delivering a range of successful activities and events  
• Experience of developing and managing new and existing activities and events from initial planning to post evaluation
• Organisational, administrative and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver quality work to deadlines
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work comfortably under pressure within a busy environment
• Track record of creating, managing and working within established budgets 
• The ability to work in partnership with a range of colleagues, individuals, organisations and groups to support and engage the local community
• Understanding of how race, sex, age and other issues are relevant when providing support to users and in all dealings with staff, trustees, clients, volunteers and other individuals

Bonny Downs Community Association has been working together to change lives and transform our community since 1998. Over the past 25 years our team has grown to provide a wide array of services that benefit Newham residents from all walks of life. 

This role is specifically funded through the Youth Endowment fund as a pilot project ‘Thriving Communities’. You will be required to work alongside Thriving Communities commissioners, as well as the project’s Youth Justice Worker’s, Educational Psychologist, and/or professionals assigned to individual young people’s cases- such as teachers, social workers and mentors. The Thriving Communities project is a small part of a wider collaborative project, EMPOWER YOUTH, delivered by two partner charities so, although this position is based at BDCA, you will be working closely with a second East Ham Youth Partnership Project lead and team of Sessional Assistants based at nearby charity The Renewal Programme (TRP). Staff from each organisation will work together to deliver the programme and cross-refer young people to activities led by both teams. You will also be required to work with BDCA’s own Children & Families team during the summer scheme and liaise with our marketing team all year round. External partner agencies that you will work directly with include Thriving Communities panel, Newham Youth Empowerment Service, Newham Community Engagement Team, local sports clubs and schools.
