About the role 

Scripture Union England & Wales (SU) one of the UK’s longest-established children and youth ministry organisations is  working in partnership with Activate, an exciting local sport and wellbeing project, to offer this unique role to reach many more young people in the Bushy Park area and across the South of England through physical activity. 

We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for using sport to help children and young people across the South of England to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus. 

This unique role combines the benefits of direct face-to-face engagement with young people in a local context, delivering mission through sport activities and programmes, while also developing and mentoring others to expand ministry across the South region. About Activate 

Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith.  Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms.  A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project. 

In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities.  The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes. 

About your team

With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer with an international development charity on a permanent, full-time basis. As Finance Officer you will support the Finance Business Partner and the wider team with the financial oversight of the charity’s programmes. About Chapter One

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. 

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports over 3,200 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 160 local and national businesses. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

About the Role

The Finance Assistant has responsibility for a variety of finance functions including the purchase and sales ledger, making payments to suppliers, invoicing Corporate Partners and Schools and reconciling bank accounts. They support the day to day running of the Finance Team ensuring that tasks such as posting invoices, reconciling customer accounts, supporting credit control and chasing non-payments are carried out in a timely and accurate fashion. 

The Finance Assistant reports to and works closely with the Head of Finance and plays a critical role in resolving finance queries from Chapter One colleagues, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting internal processes and contributing to the effective financial management of Chapter One. 

This role is ideal for someone who has experience in a similar position within a finance team and has good working knowledge of accounting principles and a basic understanding of income for charities. They will work remotely and will need to have access to a reliable internet connection. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and the post-holder must be permanently based in the UK at the time of applying and for the duration of their employment.

All Chapter One employees are required to attend quarterly in-person staff meetings held in various locations across the UK (all expenses covered) as well as monthly all staff virtual meetings which are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 12:00 - 13:00; participation is mandatory.

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join a dynamic and growing satellite Students’ Union in the heart of Canary Wharf. Westway Trust are seeking an experienced and confident Team Administrator to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Property Department, playing a key role in ensuring the annual cycle of organisational requirements in terms of administration are well planned, on track and delivered by the relevant part of the team. 

You will be a friendly, motivated and pro-active Administrator who will be highly organised to drive a number of competing work packages. You’ll be comfortable in connecting with colleagues, tenants and key partners and stakeholders on the Westway Trust 23 acres estate, with the ability to listen and gather a range of source material and feed these back into the work of the Property Team.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Head of Property and the Property Managers, including the scheduling of team meetings.
• You will ensure time is set aside by the whole team to meet organisational goals, such as performance reviews, work to achieve the organisation’s annual audit, service charge reconciliation, and contractor reviews.
• Schedule in key team tasks within the peaks and troughs of the range of team activities.
• Initial point of contact for enquiries to the Property team.
• Manage routine office duties such as invoice requests and expenses.
• Upkeep and maintenance of databases.
• Schedule Committee Meetings and attend in the capacity of the minute taker. Work with the team to prepare and collate the papers. 
• You may be asked to organise emails, create presentations, and work within the teams filing system.
• You will receive reports from key team members and ensure they are ready to present through the Governance.
• You will co-ordinate and collage high level data collection provided by others for upward reporting.
• You will ensure key project information regarding estate development is circulated to the lettings and leasing side of the Property Team’s operation. 

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Minimum 5 years’ administration experience working on multiple work streams, in a busy office, with strong organisational and time management skills.

• Proficient IT skills, across Microsoft Office, and willing to learn new systems.

About the team

The Media team strategically leads on both proactive and reactive media, supporting WaterAid’s fundraising, partnerships, brand awareness and political influencing & systems change strategic priorities. The team are responsible for outreach to a range of media in the UK and globally – across traditional, consumer and digital.

The team works with Country Programmes and work on global media outreach with WaterAid Member Offices, operate a 24/7 media hotline and manages areas of reputational risk.

The Media Team consists primarily of 4 functions – News, PR, Celebrity Ambassador, and Global News. The Interim role would manage a team of 11 people and three direct line reports. The Celebrity Ambassador function sits within the team but line management of the Celebrity & Influencer Lead is with the Global & UK Director of Communications.

About the role

As Interim you will lead and work with the Media team to explore and encourage new approaches including how we further maximise the digital media landscape.

The role is pivotal in working with key stakeholders across the organisation in fundraising, global adcoacy and campaigns, and the Communications leadership team, to ensure media strategies are not only aligned and integrated with strategic fundraising engagement and advocacy priorities – but also bold and innovative.

In this role, you will:

• Champion, inspire and lead a high-performing, highly motivated team.
• Line management of the Senior News Manager, Senior PR Manager and Global Media Specialist.
• Management of the Media Team budget, ensuring budget is being used for greatest impact.

• Work collaboratively with the Communications Senior Management Team to set and ensure clarity on roles and responsibilities of the Media team, to foster an integrated approach.

Healthwatch City of London are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications and engagement officer to ensure that the patient and service users voice is at the heart of Health and Social Care decision making.  The successful candidate will drive engagement with the local community, creating visibility of our work to residents and partners. This part time role (4 days a week) is within a busy small team representing the residents, workers and students of the City of London. Healthwatch City of London are the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We also work to get services right for the future.

You’ll also be representing our organisation at network meetings across all the various Health and Social Care providers, charity partners and patient groups across North East London.

Role purpose

Working closely with the General Manager and Trustees you will develop and deliver the communications and engagement strategy for the organisation, making sure the patients voice is at the heart of everything we do. You will write monthly newsletters, daily social media posts, organise and manage engagement and information events and produce statutory publications. You will also deliver the volunteer strategy by recruiting and managing a wide-ranging volunteer team and identifying relevant projects which enhance and deliver on Healthwatch City of London objectives. 

We are looking for a Senior Individual Giving Fundraiser to be responsible for the delivery of core elements of the Supporter Acquisition programme, developing engaging communications / products and activity across multiple channels, such as paid search and social, email, telemarketing and offline channels.

This is a Hybrid role with two days a week in the office, you can be based either in the Chelsea or Sutton office.

The Role

Previous experience with Individual Giving / Direct Marketing within a multi-channel, multi-discipline environment, especially through supporter acquisition channels.

Good project-management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, creative development, and supplier relationships for fundraising direct marketing campaigns.

Knowledge of best practice digital fundraising, with particular experience of running Search, Social and online campaigns to increase supporters and gather data for future marketing opportunities.

The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will be our lead fundraiser, drawing in support and expertise from across the team. They will take ownership of identifying funding sources, refining a strategy, forecasting our fundraising income, and building strong relationships with donors, bringing the experiences of our group members to life in fundraising communications. They will line management a full-time fundraiser who specialises in individual giving while the Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will lead on grant writing.

We are a highly impactful organisation that is often looked to for our insight in the sector. The role: 

The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations is required to lead a wide range of activities. You will be expected to manage your own time, prioritising tasks and leading a small team of people who contribute to CARAS’ fundraising. You will inherit excellent systems and skilled, supportive and enthusiastic team players. You will work closely with the CEO, and the senior leadership team which draws together Heads of Service from each of our programme areas. You will collaborate with our Finance Manager to ensure smooth management of grants and donations and will play a key role in budget setting with the Finance Manager and CEO. 

The role demands cross-departmental working, and regular contact with community members to enhance your ability to advocate for them. You will be at the forefront of developing new ideas and approaches, ensuring that teams have the money and resources to have an impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Fundraising 

• Line-manage our Fundraising Officer and work together to generate income to meet CARAS’s budgetary targets through trusts and foundations, individual giving, community fundraising and other means at our disposal. 

• Develop and deliver a fundraising strategy which synchronises with the CARAS Strategic Plan.

• Research and maintain a real-time pipeline of fundraising opportunities and oversee delivery. Lead or allocate all income generation opportunities in good time so that appropriate co-design and decision-making processes are behind applications. 

• Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in CARAS’s database. 

• Ensure compliance with best practice in fundraising including use of data and confidentiality. 

• Work collaboratively with Heads of Service and CARAS’ Finance Manager to develop, deliver and iterate systems to ensure grants are accurately and effectively managed. 

• Work closely with CARAS leadership to align fundraising priorities with programme plans and organisational growth. 

• Lead on the development of programmatic and core budgets for diverse grant funders. 

• Write and submit high-quality, tailored applications that articulate CARAS’s impact, values and plans.  

• Ensure applications are accurate, persuasive, and meet deadlines and funder requirements.  

• Collaborate with the team to gather supporting information, budgets, and case studies. 

Reporting & Stewardship  

● Maintain excellent records and monitor deadlines for reporting and renewals.  

• Develop CARAS’ outcomes report and donor report ensuring they are data rich and clearly demonstrate impact. 

• Monitoring the wealth of data CARAS collects through our frontline service to ensure we stay agile and adaptable within a changing policy context, supporting Heads of Service and other relevant stakeholders to deliver excellence. 

Collaboration with Finance 

• Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager to ensure the rigorous financial management across all income and expenditure to ensure all grants and donations are accurately accounted for and spent. 

• Working collaboratively with the Finance Manager and CEO, develop the organisational annual budget and lead on income projections for the year ahead to ensure expenditure budgets are feasible and unlock multi-year growth. 

Governance 

• Contribute to the maintenance of up-to-date policies relevant to the role.

• Attend board meetings as requested to share reports with the Board on fundraising.

• Work closely with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee on fundraising strategy. 

Cross-Organisational Contribution  

● Coordinate annual impact reporting, including data analysis, case studies, and visual storytelling.  

● Build strong internal relationships and stay connected to CARAS’s work by attending occasional programmes, events and residentials.  

● Contribute ideas and support the fundraising team’s broader work (e.g. campaigns, supporter communications).  

● Engage with programme staff to gather stories and data that demonstrate CARAS’s impact.

• Outstanding written communication with demonstrable experience of creating compelling cases for support and experience of successfully securing funds from large foundations. 

• Confidence working with numbers and developing programmatic and organisational budgets.
