The Philanthropy Manager will join our recently established Philanthropy and Partnerships (P&P) team to help us develop and nurture a range of corporate and philanthropic relationships. Together, we will significantly increase our income in support of the world leading research, treatment, and care that takes place across our hospitals in areas such as: childhood cancer, rare diseases, neonatal and maternal health, children and young people’s mental health, and critical care.

We’re looking for an experienced Philanthropy Manager to play a pivotal role in securing significant philanthropic income from high-net-worth individuals and charitable trusts and foundations to support the vital work of our hospitals. Leading a team of three, this role is responsible for cultivating and managing existing high-value philanthropic relationships, expanding our high-value networks and further embedding a culture of philanthropy across our hospitals and charity.

The ideal candidate will have strong understanding and experience in working with high-net-worth individuals to secure 5-6 figure gifts. Communication skills (both verbally and in writing) ideally gained within a fundraising or sales/business development environment. They will be a self-starter with an appetite to make unsolicited approaches to individuals, along with the ability to develop and grow lasting relationships with high-net-worth individuals, charitable trust and foundations.  They will have strong time management skills, a motivation to work towards and achieve targets, and an appreciation of working for the NHS.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women's led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by VAWG.

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

PRIMARY TASK

The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.

The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of  minoritised communities in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.

Cord’s turnover is about £2m a year. About 85% of Cord’s funding is restricted, coming from institutional donors like the EU and the US government, and 15% (about £300K) is unrestricted coming from a committed UK supporter base and other private fundraising streams. 

In 2025, Cord operates in eight countries and has offices in Burundi, Myanmar, Laos, & Cambodia. Cord has a global team of thirty people with finance staff across five country teams. 

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.

In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system and developing financial policies and procedures. 

The Finance Manager will have oversight of the UK finance function through the line management of the UK Finance Officer and will directly deliver on the international side of operations in the areas of donor compliance, programme financial management, partner financial monitoring, and reporting. The role will involve travel to international programme locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• To support the Head of Operations to provide finance team leadership, develop and deliver an annual finance workplan to ensure continual improvement, and to drive finance capacity across the organisation
• To ensure the effective financial management of the organisation create and maintain effective financial control
• To be the Business Central Finance System Lead, developing functionality, troubleshooting and capacitating system users
• To ensure financial compliance: prepare statutory accounts, partner compliance, donor compliance and financial reporting

· Creating and publishing content for our social media and website

Job Purpose:

To provide operational management of the Substance Misuse Through-the-Gate (SMTTG) programme, which supports Lambeth and Southwark women in custody and their transition back into the community. The Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the service is delivered to a high standard by line managing staff, developing strong partnerships with prisons and recovery services, and fostering a culture of quality, learning, and accountability.

The post holder will also hold a caseload, working directly with women in custody to support them into community services. They will provide robust Through-the-Gate (TTG) support on release and continue to work with women in the community for up to six months to ensure a smooth transition and sustainable recovery.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Lead the operational management of the Substance Misuse TTG programme, ensuring high-quality, trauma-responsive support for women impacted by the criminal justice system
2. Manage and develop staff to foster a strong, inclusive, and reflective team culture
3. Deliver direct support to women, ensuring a trauma-informed and person-centred approach
4. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders in prisons and the community to strengthen partnerships and share expertise

What's the role about?

You’ll be joining the RSPB England Education, Families and Youth team to support our regional partnerships with Girlguiding. In this role, you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of our key project outputs.

Key tasks:

• Design and deliver youth-focused nature engagement activities, including co-creating a nature and climate youth action toolkit and launching a Youth Nature Ambassador Network for members aged 10-18 to shape initiatives and lead their own projects.
• Design and deliver 'train the trainer' sessions to empower adult and young leaders in youth organisations, to embed nature and climate action into their core programming as well as driving the changes they are most passionate about.
• Coordinate and deliver project activities, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective outcomes. This includes managing volunteers, collaborating with partners, supporting budget monitoring, maintaining documentation, and helping embed project outcomes into long-term practice.
• Coordinate communications and stakeholder engagement, including facilitating meetings and creating briefings and materials to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• You will be supported in your role by the England Youth Partnerships team, with opportunities to meet virtually with staff and volunteers, so you feel part of a team and learn about the work of the RSPB and Girlguiding. An induction and relevant training will be provided as well as support to further develop the skills needed for this role.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

The role

Reporting

You will be a member of the PMO team, working closely with Icebreaker One’s project managers. You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects and secretariat functions as directed by the Programme Director, Head of Project Management and the Programme and Policy Manager. 

Responsibilities

• Project administration

  • Creating meeting templates, slide decks and documents 

  • Attend meetings to take meeting minutes

  • Proof-reading project documents and artefacts

  • Assisting the project manager with task management using the Jira tool and preparing meeting agendas

• Icebreaker One secretariat administration for Steering and Advisory Groups

  • Preparation: 

    • Oversee diary management, meeting planning and scheduling

    • Creating Zoom meetings

    • Logistics, and room bookings for in person meetings/events

    • managing and updating attendee tracking lists

    • Prepare, collate and distribute meeting materials well in advance to attendees

    • Creating voting forms for items needing endorsement 

    • Ensuring co-chairs are supported in meeting logistics 

  • Execution

    • Host / managing Zoom/Teams for online meetings

    • Attend meetings to take meeting minutes, and post-meeting cleaning up the notes afterwards (for easy reading) 

    • summarising outputs

    • Tracking voting form responses and, if required, following up with individual members to ensure quorate is reached 

  • Post-AG wash up

    • Writing, disseminating, and publishing Advisory and Steering Group minutes

    • Writing/summarising, coordinating and sending post-event follow up emails and voting summary reports

    • Updating the SG/AG action tracker log of actions, ensuring follow-up with action owners before each meeting.

• Inbox Management: Oversee the Secretariat mailbox to ensure effective communication, timely responses, and coordination of meetings, while maintaining organised records and distributing information as needed

• Public webinar and in person events administration

  • Coordinating panellists, preparing agenda and slide deck templates

  • Managing Eventbrite & calendar invitations, Zoom administration

  • Assisting with the coordination of onsite logistics

• Participating in weekly Show & Tell meetings

• Additional ad hoc administrative tasks as appropriate

Results 

• Ensuring the smooth running of IB1 projects, meetings and Steering and Advisory Groups

• Ensuring project managers and meeting participants have all the required information to carry out meetings and activities

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

Demonstrable experience of:

• Attention to detail and administrative skills

• Ability to understand and take real-time notes in complex meetings

• Working with and in support of a group of team members

• Highly organised and capable of managing time and tasks effectively and independently

• Familiar with using and applying Google Suite/Workspace, Slack, Zoom, social media and other tools for working remotely and in the open

• The ability to work in a collegiate, collaborative and open environment

• Experience in supporting, coaching and delegating to junior administrators

Desirable

• A working knowledge of the UK’s Net Zero landscape

All outputs, reports, developments and deliverables undergo internal quality assurance. Early-stage research is presented in a weekly Show and Tell for internal, external and peer feedback; fortnightly heartbeat sessions with clients and funders, checks on direction of travel and shows work early; sharing draft materials for feedback is core to our process.
