Role Overview
As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to provide the robust and vibrant governance that is needed to ensure we remain focused on our strategic objectives, operate effectively and efficiently, and achieve our ambitions to grow.

At this time, we would particularly welcome applications from people with experience and expertise in welfare and safety to be the board lead for this area. You would also ideally have some understanding of challenges faced by historically underserved communities and the cycling landscape for disabled
people.

A record of successful achievement of working at a strategic level, with the ability to interact effectively with the Board, Chief Executive, and senior staff, challenge constructively, and influence a wide range of stakeholders are all must have qualities.
We anticipate that the role will require attendance at 8 evening Board meetings a year (either in person in Warrington, or via teams meeting) and some additional hours per month on special projects in line with your skills.

The role of a Trustee is not remunerated; however, expenses will be reimbursed. Induction and training will also be provided.

Role Responsibilities
The role of the Board welfare and safety lead is to provide a focus at Board level and to support the Board in ensuring that it has appropriate oversight of, and meets its responsibilities towards, the welfare and safety of its members and people. This will include employees, participants and volunteers and any other individuals which the organisation interacts with.
The lead will also help to ensure that welfare and safety matters are factored into decisions, be the main contact on the Board for welfare and safety matters and will be supported by the team who manage day to day issues, with training provided as appropriate

Application Process
Please apply by sending your CV and a covering letter explaining how you meet the requirements of being a trustee including ‘Trustee’ in the title.
