As Viva’s Head of Impact, you will work closely with the Network Partnerships Team Leadership to lead the development of a new approach to Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, with the primary purpose of supporting partner networks to know their impact and share learning with each other. You will enable partner networks and Viva to build, measure and learn together, evaluating the effectiveness of programmes and methodologies, adapting them to ensure desired impact is reached and sharing learning with each other and with other development partners.

You will also work to ensure all programmes funded by Viva are accountable, well-monitored and contribute to our learning environment with clear opportunities to learn and adapt throughout the programme delivery and reporting processes.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Shared leadership: You will contribute to strategic decision making as part of the Network Partnerships Leadership Team and be part of shaping the vision and practice of Viva as an organisation from a Christian faith perspective.
• Viva MEAL framework: You will develop and manage a robust MEAL Framework for Viva
• Network health: You will work closely with the Network Partnerships Leadership Team to review Viva’s Network Health Check process and develop a system designed to support partner networks to build strong and sustainable networks
• Reviewing project delivery: You will work closely with Network Coaches to agree the most efficient outworking of the MEAL Framework with the Viva partner networks for projects where Viva has brokered funding.
• Evaluating Viva’s work: You will lead the process of evaluating Viva’s work, including but not limited to needs assessments, baseline survey, final evaluation, data quality audits, collecting monitoring data, network satisfaction surveys, and field supervision.
• Representing Viva: You will at different times and ways represent Viva externally, for example, through speaking in churches, prayer meetings, meeting with other Christian organisations.

This role will suit you if you:

• have at least a Bachelor’s degree in impact measurement or international development with a MEAL module, or a related field
• are experienced in working in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning-related functions or related field
• have experience in project management including grant management and reporting
• are to demonstrate an active Christian faith, with an understanding of the Christian faith and church culture to be able to effectively engage with partner networks and churches
• think creatively and have a growth mindset, willing to challenge established ways of doing things

This is a part-time role for Viva, based anywhere in the world where Viva can employ you. If based in the UK, the full-time salary range is £36,000 to £40,000 per annum (pro-rata), depending on experience. The Trusts & Philanthropy Fundraising Manager role is a vital part of this vision and your excellent writing skills and relationship building will help us achieve our ambitions.

We are seeking a highly experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraising consultant to spearhead the Trusts programme at Dreams Come True. As an excellent communicator, influencer, and relationship builder, you will have a proven track record of successful fundraising in this area: ideally securing between 6 and 7-figure gifts.
The successful individual must clearly understand what is meant by a strong brand / charity proposition and have clear evidence of creating and delivering compelling cases for support, with strong examples of this resulting in successful grants to the value of £50-£100k.

• Be responsible for ensuring effective and timely reporting of progress made to grant funders

Write and submit compelling bid proposals to secure funding from major trusts, working closely with colleagues to ensure content is accurate and up to date

• Work with colleagues to produce consistently outstanding, high quality, imaginative and compelling proposals, to present to both large and small trusts and foundations
• Plan and deliver a schedule of high-quality submissions that delivers on time and on targets
• Oversee the implementation of the terms and conditions of successful grants, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of projects performance against the agreed activity plan and liaise with colleagues as necessary

Record and maintain accurate records of donor communication and income through our CRM, producing reports and insights where appropriate

• Maintain efficiency in donation fulfilment, documentation of grants, acknowledgement and manage all correspondence (email, mail) through the Donorfy donor management system

The Role:

The Partner Engagement Lead is responsible for key account management, and specifically developing and supporting relationships with programme sponsors and partners within the WorldGBC network.

The Partner Engagement Lead will work closely alongside the programme/projects team subject leads, taking responsibility for day to day management of activities that relate to sponsors or stakeholders, including partner relationships, external collaborations and fundraising.

Working cross-functionally within a matrix-style organisation, the Lead will work collaboratively on the engagement pillar of WorldGBC's fundraising team alongside the Partnerships Manager and the Strategic Partnerships Lead. This team coordinates closely with all WorldGBC departments, in particular where sponsors are involved with initial focus on the programme/project partners.

Well-organised and a great communicator, this individual will ensure that key relationships are managed effectively across the organisation, and be detail oriented in their reporting and accounting of opportunities. The Lead should also be willing to represent the organisation in relevant external opportunities relating to the programmes as need arises - including fundraising meetings, external working groups, events or conferences.

The Partner Engagement Lead will report to the Director of Programmes Strategy.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Account Management: Be primary point of contact for new and existing programmatic sponsors and partners, overseeing engagement with the network and accounting with detailed reporting to ensure up-to-date partnership records. Work alongside the programmatic team leads to deliver all agreed benefits to partners, ensuring a uniform balance of benefits and opportunities across sponsors engaging in all areas of the organisation.

2. Fundraising and Budget Management: Work alongside the programme leads to secure funding and manage relevant programme/project budgets (with guidance from the Director of Programmes Strategy), including supporting grant application and reporting responsibilities where necessary.

3. Stakeholder Engagement (members and partners): Engage with stakeholders to ensure that our programmes/projects align with their goals and needs, working with the Director of Programmes Strategy and wider programme team to explore best practice engagement tactics throughout 2024.

4. Subject Matter Expertise: Stay current with the latest trends in sustainable buildings and WorldGBC programme outputs, ensuring the Lead can communicate knowledgeably about WorldGBC strategy and work areas as required.

 

5. Communications: Support communication for WorldGBC on topics related to sustainable buildings in relevant programmatic areas, representing the team at internal or external events or industry working groups and collaborating with Marketing & Communications on accurate messaging for publications and campaigns.

6. Supporting Programmes team: Be a committed member of the WorldGBC team and offer support, training and expertise to wider members of the team. Participate and engage in wider WorldGBC campaigns, events and deliverables, such as COP, World Green Building Week and Leadership Summit.

Purpose of the post

The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role within HDR UK, as the key point of contact and financial support for the Institute Office teams. The Finance Business Partner supports key non- finance stakeholders to provide timely and insightful analysis and reporting and supports with the alignment of financial plans to operational and strategic priorities. The role will support the HDR UK’s non- Core funds and programmatic areas and will be responsible for proactive fund financial management, supporting the Fund budget holders in ensuring appropriate planning and utilisation of the fund expenditure. The role is responsible for maintaining clear and effective communication between the Finance team and the wider business and for ensuring that financial concepts and priorities are understood by the programme teams.

Main responsibilities

• Work with Budget Holders to manage financial performance, forecasts, and budgeting including understanding financial opportunities and risk for the area of business partnership.
• Hold responsibility for the financial management of a number of large and strategic funds, including financial reporting to funders and maximising fund utilisation.
• Lead on monthly reporting to Programme teams, including posting month end journals, meeting with Budget Holders to discuss performance and budget variance and providing commentary and analysis on reports.

Karibuni Children, a UK registered charity, works to help Kenyan children from some of the poorest backgrounds, to fulfil their potential and release themselves from the cycle of poverty. At any one time, we are supporting around 700 children across Kenya and our aim is to walk with the children through their whole education.  In addition to providing financial support to enable children to attend high-quality educational institutes, we work to reduce other barriers that may prevent those living below the poverty line from maximising their educational potential. This includes provision of nutritious school meals, school uniforms and shoes, learning equipment and feminine hygiene products.  We also support initiatives focused on the empowerment of the wider family unit of each supported child, such as providing workshops on parenting skills, sustainable food production, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and business skills. To further support this, we work with our partners on infrastructure development projects which have the potential to transform the local community and deliver increased self-sufficiency and sustainability.

The charity is seeking to recruit a UK Operations Manager to support the programme of work.  The successful candidate will be one of only two paid employees, working with the Trustees to lead the charity through the next phase of its development. 

Job Description

Salary: up to £30,000 – 34,000 full time equivalent depending on experience.

Contract: Permanent / Part Time (30 hours per week)
This role is envisaged as permanent part time for 30 hours per week over a minimum of four days. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration & Operations

● Develop and maintain effective and efficient administrative systems

● Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines with regard to staff, equipment and premises

● Oversee Gift Aid claims and ensure that compliance with regulations is maintained

● Assist volunteer Treasurer with preparation of management accounts as necessary

● Maintain records for restricted and designated funds, reconcile Charity Gifts income and other income sources.

 Fundraising

We are embarking on an ambitious new direction at Habitat GB; leveraging our global housing expertise and the learning from our flagship national programme “Empty Spaces to Homes” to work collaboratively with Habitat colleagues across Europe in effecting change at a policy level.

“Empty Spaces to Homes” is a ground-breaking initiative focused on a circular buildings approach that already has a feasible proof of concept from piloting, with strong upscaling potential. The premise is simple; unlocking the potential of long term empty commercial spaces to create affordable housing for vulnerable people. As well as the social benefits of adding to affordable housing stock, the Empty Spaces to Homes approach of retrofitting existing structures – at a much lower carbon cost - offers a greener and more sustainable way to meet the housing gap, in comparison to the environmental impact of the new build construction industry. Breaking down long-standing barriers to resource-efficient renovation is essential if the UK is to play its part in meeting ambitious global decarbonisation targets.

Purpose of The role

The UK Housing Advocacy Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by leading advocacy efforts, shaping policies, and promoting sustainable housing solutions for affordable housing in Great Britain, particularly through our groundbreaking initiative "Empty Spaces to Homes."

As this is a new role, and is being recruited alongside the Head of Global Affairs and Advocacy, key responsibilities will include the establishment of a new function at Habitat GB.  It involves working closely with colleagues across the Habitat GB organisation and contributing to advocacy efforts across the Habitat network at global and regional levels through engagement, strategy and shared learning.  Key responsibilities also include developing communication and advocacy strategies targeting professionals and decision makers in social, environmental and housing sectors, as well as undertaking research and writing policy papers.

Main Responsibilities 

1) Research and Analysis:

• Commission and conduct in-depth research into current British housing landscapes and related legislation, assessing the effectiveness of mechanisms for converting unused premises into social housing and its environmental impact.
• Identify legal changes necessary to facilitate such activities and advocate for their implementation.

2) Lead Policy Advocacy Efforts:

• Utilise research findings to develop policy positions and identify priority issues, setting policy goals, and mapping out related advocacy activities.
• Embed critical concepts such as embodied carbon and whole life cycle into policy communications to amplify Habitat GB's messaging.

3) Partnerships and Networks:

• Join and represent Habitat GB at existing coalitions or form new coalitions if necessary with stakeholders in the social, environmental, and housing sectors to advocate for climate and equity-related incentives in national and local legislations, policies, and funding mechanisms.
• Build a network of relationships among key stakeholder groups and individual decision-makers to advance Habitat's policy goals.
• Identify strategic events and ensure speaking roles for Habitat GB.
• Represent Empty Spaces to Homes and Habitat for Humanity’s wider UK programmes for awareness raising, advocacy and other priorities at key meetings and events.

4) Direct Lobbying:

• Cultivate strategic relationships with key decision-makers to further Habitat's policy objectives.

5) Collaboration:

• Develop collaborative partnerships internally with Habitat entities across Europe, aligning with the broader strategic objectives of the Empty Spaces to Homes initiative.
• Support communication efforts to underpin advocacy efforts effectively.

6) Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Work with the Impact Team to provide regular updates on advocacy strategy activities and evaluate their effectiveness.

 

Person Specification

· Proven experience in professional advocacy to influence key policy positions and decisions, preferably in housing or a related field.

· Track record in delivering targeted advocacy strategies and implementing communication strategies to support advocacy efforts.

· Experience in engaging stakeholders and decision-makers through events, networks, and meetings.

· Experience in community mobilisation or engagement.

· Understanding of housing poverty policies and related social welfare issues in Great Britain, with the ability to advise on effective mechanisms for influence.

· Familiarity with Local Authority Governance and opportunities for policy influence at local and regional levels.
