Job Purpose:

Job Purpose:

The Fundraising Manager (Grants & Trusts) will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful fundraising strategy focused on trusts, foundations, and statutory grants. They will identify new funding opportunities, build relationships with funders, and write compelling applications that align with St Bride Foundation’s mission and strategic priorities.

This role is crucial in securing core funding, project-specific grants, and capital funding, enabling us to expand our heritage, learning, and community engagement programmes.

This role will be closely involved in projects that, under our new vision and mission, aim to transform SBF into a contemporary institute serving the creative industries, researchers and the wider public. Key Responsibilities:

1. Grant & Trust Fundraising

• Develop and implement a revenue and capital fundraising strategy, identifying compelling propositions and packages, and setting and securing agreed targets.
• Research and identify trusts, foundations, and grant opportunities aligned with our mission.

This can be a London hybrid or UK homebased role, with the requirement of travel once a month into the London office with travel cost covered.

The Role
Join a team to develop the marketing plan for individual online and offline campaigns with all stakeholders.

Manage the approach to audience targeting and segmentation, working with external media agencies for digital and cold direct mail campaigns.

Manage campaign budgets and ensure accurate and complete records are kept.

Research into projects, case studies, production methods and other charities approaches to feed into the creative process.

The Candidate
Experience in direct marketing for a charity.

Clear and accurate written skills and copy editing.

Ability to work at a detailed level as well as develop campaign strategy.

Good numerical skills and ability to manage and prepare financial information, and analyse campaign results.

The Talent Set are delighted to be partnering with Tommy’s to recruit for a Senior Trusts & Statutory Manager, playing a pivotal role in deepening the charity’s relationships with key funders at the 6 figure level and contributing to the strategic development of the team at a hugely exciting time for the charity.

Key duties include:

• Leading the growth and management of Trust funders at the 6 figure+ level, partnering with existing donors on complex strategic projects and proactively identifying new high-value relationships.
• Drive the business development pipeline for potential funders at the 6-figure level, planning and building fantastic relationships, putting together high-quality proposals and effectively prioritising those with the highest financial potential.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the Research, Programme and Impact teams to develop high-quality and diversified proposals.
• Work collaboratively with senior colleagues and the Head of Trusts & Statutory on the continuous improvement of the team’s processes and working culture, ensuring efficiency in working and a supportive, high-performance environment.
• Line management of a Trusts & Statutory Manager.

We’re looking for the following skills & experience for this role:

• Tangible experience of success in securing gifts from Trusts & Foundations at a £75k+ level, including experience of pursuing cold relationships from prospect to gift.
• Evidence of personally managing a varied prospect pipeline of Trusts & Foundations funders, with experience of developing and managing complex relationships and projects.
• Strong experience of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prior experience of line management.
• Experience of fundraising within a medical research charity is desirable.

This new position is a response to the increasing focus on events as a key part of our fundraising and stewardship strategy. Our flagship Annual Dinner is our main fundraiser; last year we smashed our targets and raised over £2m. With this added post in our team we are confident that we can not only replicate but increase that growth. This role will take responsibility for all UK events, and resulting relationships with a small portfolio of major donors.   

When thinking about the profile of individuals who would be well suited to this role and who will help bring our events and donor stewardship in the UK to the next level, it is likely you will have consolidated events experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing some funds, ideally through relationship-driven fundraising activity.

This is a pivotal role within our fundraising team, with shared responsibility for generating the engagement and income that drives EMpower’s strategy and vision—a future in which young people living at the margins have the opportunities, skills, and confidence to transform their lives and communities
