Role Purpose

This role is focused on maximising comms-based engagement across the GDI Hub’s portfolio, supporting GDI Hub’s growing outreach and impact.

The post holder will work closely across GDI Hub comms team to support communications delivery across the organisational portfolio – with a focus on key regular outputs, creative content, websites, reactive queries and organisational communications. This role will involve both administrative tasks, and creative content generation, at an anticipated volume of 50% per area.

The post holder will also provide key communications and engagement support for the Disabled Leaders Network. Run by the GDI Hub, the Disabled Leaders Network is a member led, dynamic group of emerging global talent. Communications support includes digital events, managing social media and the network channels, and regular newsletters.

Across all elements of the role, the successful candidate will need to work collaboratively and dynamically. Responsibilities will include creative content generation, design, copy writing, film/photography, newsletters - alongside more administration and operational activities such as enquiry response, proof reading, and website updates.  This role will work closely alongside members of the GDI Hub team, with some interactions with external partners, collaborators and stakeholders. This role will also support with event delivery – digital and in person.

We are looking for a candidate with strong administrative, communications and digital skills, including experience with social media and design. The candidate will need to deliver public facing communication outputs, while also building personable relationships. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential, as it a streamlined, can-do approach.

Role Responsibilities:

Administrative support

• Assisting across the day-to-day functions of GDI – from uploading of publications, to updating websites, proof-reading and formatting documents

• Responsible for incoming channels, to provide timely responses and streamline engagement mechanisms

Social media

• Development of rich content, including social and digital assets – using photography and film, alongside a strong understanding of design.

Creative content

• Creating infographics, factsheets, presentations, web page development and e-newsletters, project and programme deliverables, reports, tools and dissemination of academic publications

Website content

• Manage edits and requests

Audience development

• Build social media followers and engagement through the development of content, re-sharing and profiling of partners and stakeholders, and engagement with followers

Content capture

• Be confident in capturing images and film content from mobile devices

Disabled Leaders Network

• Provide socials media, website and digital event support and expertise to the Disabled Leaders Network.
• Lead Disabled Leaders Network Committee roles aligned to communications
• Create Disabled Leaders Network newsletter and digital correspondence.

About the opportunity
Working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and wider Philanthropy Department, the Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will identify and cultivate fruitful partnerships with a range of small, medium and large businesses.
They will help maximise the potential of corporate and other organisations for funding, volunteer recruitment, and other philanthropic opportunities, to enable growth and sustainability for Action Tutoring. This will be achieved by securing and nurturing small to medium sized organisations to provide financial support for programmes. The role of a Project Officer

Whilst this role will predominantly be in the East of the region, you will need to be prepared to work all over the South East should the need arise. River enhancement projects will typically include weir removals, fish passage easements (such as rock ramps, nature-like bypasses or technical fish passes) and river re-naturalisation projects (such as habitat enhancements, reconnecting floodplains & palaeochannels, re-meandering, and backwater creation). Catchment management projects are likely to include wetland creation, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures. We would be interested to know about any experience you have in the above fields when you apply.

Using your freshwater expertise and proven ability, you will proactively lead on smaller and medium scale projects while working closely with other staff, external partners and stakeholders. You will work with the rest of the team, drawing on the experience of more seasoned staff to help your personal career progression and likewise overseeing Assistant Project Officer and imparting your knowledge onto them. Most importantly of all, you will support the whole team, your line manager and the wider organisation.

Key Objectives for this Role 

Oversee the day-to-day running of our Battersea Bites Programme that includes a lunch club for people 50+ that runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and a healthy eating session on Mondays. This includes leading in the planning, shopping and preparation and provision of meals, the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including overseeing a team of volunteers and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

Planning 

• Plan and develop a monthly lunch service menu, a month in advance, using creative license to provide nutritious, varied, and satisfying meals that meet diverse dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, vegetarian/vegan options) while strictly adhering to Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations. 

• Develop ideas for Battersea Bites Healthy cook and eat/ other sessions with the Age Well Team.

• Handle purchases and expense tracking using the Soldo card, ensuring full compliance with the bank card usage policy, and submitting all receipts and records promptly and accurately for financial oversight and reporting, for which training can be provided.

• Create several themed menus throughout the year which will engage members. For example, a Summer Lunch, an Afternoon Tea, etc.

• Support the planning of the older people’s lunch club with older people themselves

• Support the Elders team to welcome and support new members to feel part of the programme. 

Delivery 

• Complete a weekly food shop either online (we currently use Asda delivery service) or locally, buying fresh ingredients weekly which fall within the financial budget. 

• Prepare, cook and serve healthy meals, ensuring dietary needs are met 

• Undertake stock control such as stock rotation, ensuring all food items are labelled with expiry dates and disposed of when necessary. 

• Ensure all equipment is ready and set up for the lunch club service. 

• Ensure the security of the kitchen and store cupboards to provide a safe working environment. (Our cupboards are locked.)

• To ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialised cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors and storage areas.

The Choir with No Name has been running choirs involving people impacted by homelessness and marginalisation since 2008, and we currently have choirs in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Cardiff, Coventry, Sheffield and Brighton. Charity People are delighted to be partnering with an independent health foundation to recruit an experienced Head of Funding to help them build the foundations of a healthier society.

The charity invests, partners, engages and influences to tackle big health challenges. They collaborate with their communities, partners and hospitals, and use their assets to transform lives.

The Interim Head of Funding will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the funding strategy of the foundation's three charities and will play a leading role in enabling the successful delivery of funding and impact.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the end-to-end funding process from development of applications to decisions and monitoring of funded programmes
• Overseeing ongoing delivery of the funding strategy by working with Funding Managers to effectively deliver and manage funding portfolios
• Co-chairing of funding committees as required, supporting delivery in line with governance structures
• Oversee effective management of our Special Purpose Funds (SPFs)
• Working with finance teams and Funding Managers to ensure appropriate financial reporting and information is available across our funding portfolio

The Head of Funding will have significant experience within a major grant giving body in the health sector and managing a varied funding portfolio. You will have line management experience, with the ability to supporting teams through change management. You will also have experience of analysing complex financial information for grants budgets. You'll be an expert relationship manager, who can manage key internal stakeholders. You'll be a strong communicator with the ability to succinctly present complex narrative and financial information.

You'll also be a quick learner, able to grasp complex situations quickly, navigate complicated structures and offer pragmatic solutions. You'll also be empathetic and patient, and someone who is comfortable managing and prioritising a varied workload. Most importantly, you'll be motivated to support people and ideas that drive more equitable health.
