Working with a talented team of researchers and economists, directors and other heads, you will develop a strategy to steer NEF’s social policy work, lead the development of and fundraising for programmes of research, policy and influencing and help ensure new and existing work delivers clear, high quality and rigorous outputs and outcomes.

You will need a strong track record of leading research, policy development, a keen sense of how change happens and strong relationships with partners across politics, civil society, trade unions and business. And you will need a passion for economic, social and environmental justice and a belief that we can make change happen.

The Head of Social Policy leads the development of our thinking across public service reform, social security and housing.  This role develops - and is responsible for the effective delivery of a NEF-wide social policy strategy and of projects that are delivering on this strategy.  The Head of Social Policy acts as a key spokesperson for NEF and promotes our work at a local, regional and national level.

As NEF has a particular strategic focus on transforming the way policy is made so that it better reflects the lived experience of the people, communities and movements that most need change, we look to heads across our different themes to help develop and test new approaches to policy and advocacy.

The Head of Social Policy generates project ideas, oversees the development of quantitative and qualitative research, leads funding bids and manages day-to-day funder relationships.  This role leads a team which both develops our thinking on social policy and provides expertise to other teams at NEF.

The Role

The Team

IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol teams across England. The programme is led by the organisation in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

A core element of the programme is the expert assistance provided by a team of IPS professionals, known as IPS Grow Leads, to support providers to improve their fidelity to the IPS model and achieve better employment outcomes for their clients.

About You

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of designing and leading data strategy at a senior level. This encompasses how we collect and manage data, as well as using analysis to produce relevant and actionable insights

Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is a busy, dynamic award winning Service. We deliver a variety of projects via face to face and digital media.  

Since 2012 we have delivered a volunteer led community library service at Avonmore library.  In April 2024 we embarked on running a second community focused library at Askew Road. To support CAHF community library delivery at both libraries, we introduced the role of Community Library Coordinator.  

Purpose of the Role:

In addition to traditional library duties—such as managing stock inventory and delivering storytime sessions for under-5s—the Community Library Coordinator plays a key role in positioning the library as a vibrant hub within the local area. The library offers a diverse programme of activities for users of all ages throughout the week. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the Coordinator will oversee and help develop engaging library events, while also supporting the dedicated volunteers who contribute to the successful delivery of our community-focused services.

About You:

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with enthusiasm for working in the library sector. You should be confident in promoting the library service and delivering excellent customer service to a diverse range of users. While previous library experience is desirable, it is not essential.

The roles require:

• A good level of community awareness, with experience of working with diverse communities
• Excellent customer care skills
• An interest in literacy and reading
• The ability to recruit, induct, and support library volunteers in service delivery
• Confidence in providing digital support to library users
• The ability to oversee the library events calendar and work with both new and existing partners to develop additional community-focused activities
• The ability to adapt and respond to complex, ever-changing environments, taking opportunities to improve the way things are done

No two days are the same, so a positive and flexible attitude is essential. The role includes working on a rota Saturday basis, and evening shift up 7pm each week.

The Role
We are looking for a creative thinker with entrepreneurial ideas and understand how to manage a breadth of income through multiple digital platforms, applications, and bids.

You will oversee the funding portfolio, steward meaningful relationships with trust and foundation funders, and support the development of individual donors.

You will oversee and develop the fundraising team, including line management of the PT Senior Trusts Fundraiser and the PT Fundraising Executive.

You will source and apply for funds to meet a range of strategic priorities over the next period, including managing, reviewing and renewing some existing grants.

The Candidate
You will have experience in successfully leading small fundraising teams.

You will have experience in developing multichannel individual giving programmes, and ideally writing and submitting compelling high value bids for trusts and foundations.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will be responsible for a range of essential duties, including receiving, reviewing, and securely storing incoming RLSE applications and maintaining accurate and timely records of applications, awards and outcomes. You will also be expected to prepare and present application packs for the decision-making panel, which meets monthly for internal and bi-monthly for external applications, coordinate panel schedules, agendas, and communications, plus process and action panel decisions, ensuring outcome letters are distributed and payments are issued appropriately.

We will also count on you to provide consistent feedback to referring agencies and applicants on application outcomes and to explore and assess innovative grant proposals such as collective prison-based projects through site visits and liaison with prison governors. Promoting the RLSE Fund externally to enhance its visibility and build new partnerships and developing relationships with referring agencies are also important aspects of this role.

• Experience coordinating panels, forums, or decision-making processes

• Experience in monitoring or evaluating project impact

• Relevant experience in Criminal Justice, or equivalent experience

Temporary Individual Giving Officer – £16.48 per hour – London

Our charity-sector client is seeking a Temporary Individual Giving Officer to join their Fundraising, Engagement & Communications team for approximately 2 months.

This is a great opportunity for someone with individual giving experience to step in and provide vital support across appeals, stewardship, and donor communications. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality supporter care while helping to ensure campaigns run smoothly.

The role

• Support the delivery and analysis of direct mail and other appeals

• Help coordinate donor stewardship, including regular givers and mid-value supporters

• Maintain accurate supporter data in Salesforce, ensuring GDPR compliance

• Respond to supporter enquiries by post, phone and email

• Assist with trading programmes and merchandise fulfilment

• Provide administrative and reporting support to the fundraising team

• Contribute to events and community fundraising activities as required

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience working in individual giving or supporter care in the charity sector

• Understanding of Gift Aid, GDPR and data protection (or willingness to learn)

• Strong organisational and project support skills

• Experience using a CRM system (Salesforce desirable)

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

• The ability to juggle multiple tasks and work well under pressure
