How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community. 

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).  

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

As Head of Digital, your core responsibilities will include:

About the role:

You will be joining a passionate and committed team who provide high quality and bespoke support to service users. You will need to be able to travel to home visits within Central London, and occasionally outside of area, and therefore this role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. · Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.  The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.

· In this role, you will provide direct support to all the women, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.

· You will work closely with support workers and the in-house psychologist. You will model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, will be skilled at building trust and you will be a great team player.

· You will undertake 8-hour shifts, normally Monday to Friday but with flexibility for weekend working, covering the hours 8am to 8pm. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.

Job Purpose

As an Overnight Homeless Shelter Worker, you’ll be part of a small, professional team running Glass Door’s night shelters between November and April. Working alongside at least one other staff member, you’ll be awake and engaged throughout the night, supporting up to 35 guests who are experiencing homelessness. 

Your role is about creating a safe, calm, and welcoming space where guests can rest, feel respected, and be treated with dignity. You’ll build trust through friendly conversation, keep an eye on everyone’s wellbeing with regular checks, and step in when problems arise – from offering reassurance to someone in emotional distress, to calmly handling challenging behaviour, to calling emergency services if needed. 

Most nights are steady and focused on guest support, but there can be moments of pressure. We’ll provide training so you feel confident and prepared. You’ll also help serve a light breakfast in the morning and ensure our equipment is packed and ready for the next night – with one of you driving the van back to base.

What You’ll Do 

You’ll be part of the overnight team making sure our night shelters are safe, supportive, and welcoming spaces for everyone staying with us. This is an awake, overnight role, you will be alert and engaged for the whole shift. Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Welcoming and supporting guests – Create a friendly, respectful atmosphere and build positive relationships with guests, volunteers, and colleagues. 

• Staying alert all night – Carry out regular checks around the shelter (every 20 minutes) to make sure guests are safe, and comfortable. 

• Responding to situations – Calmly manage any issues that arise, such as someone feeling unwell, experiencing emotional distress, or showing challenging behaviour. This may sometimes mean calling emergency services. Training will be provided. 

• Keep the shelter safe and secure – Follow all safety, security, and health and safety procedures. This includes locking and unlocking doors and making sure the space stays tidy and free from hazards. 

• Recording important information – Write clear, accurate shift reports and note any concerns or observations. Complete incident forms if needed. 

• Supporting volunteers – Offer direction and guidance to volunteers on shift so everyone works well together. 

• Enforcing behaviour expectations – Address situations where may display challenging behaviour, using a calm and respectful approach, conflict de-escalation training is provided for all staff. 

• Packing and unpacking the van – unload equipment and supplies into the van at the start of the shift and repack at the end of the night. The allocated driver will return the van to base (driver shifts are paid for an extra hour). 

• Restocking supplies – Keep an eye on essentials such as tea, coffee, and toilet paper, and restock from the van when needed. 

• Preparing a simple breakfast – In the morning, help serve drinks, toast, and porridge, and make sure guests are woken from 6am so they can leave by 7am. 

• Tidying and closing down – Gather equipment, pack it away, and ensure nothing is left behind. 

• Training and meetings – Attend occasional in-person training sessions, team meetings, or other activities. From time to time, you may be assigned online training to complete while on shift. 

• Work to a rota – Shifts will include evenings, weekends, and public holidays, so flexibility is important. 

• Help with other tasks as needed – From time to time, you may be asked to help with other reasonable tasks that keep the night shelter running smoothly. 

Person Specification 

Essential 

• A genuine commitment to providing a high standard of service and treating everyone with respect, kindness, and dignity. 

• Confidence in handling challenging behaviour calmly and respectfully. 

• Good communication skills, both spoken and written. 

• The ability to carry out manual handling tasks such as moving supplies and equipment. 

• For driver shifts: A valid driving licence for a manual vehicle and be willing to drive the Glass Door van. 

Desirable 

• Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable groups. 

• The ability to speak another language, for example Arabic, Tigrinya, Amharic, Polish, Spanish, French, or Russian. 

• A lived experience of homelessness. 

• An understanding of, and commitment to, trauma-informed care. 

• Relevant training such as first aid, fire safety, conflict de-escalation, or Mental Health First Aid. 

Other 

• Employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check for adults.

About The Role

Are you a CCAB-qualified accountant who thrives at the intersection of finance and technology? Do you want to use your expertise to help tackle one of the UK’s biggest health challenges?

We are looking for a Systems Accountant to join our Finance & Assurance team during an exciting phase of transformation on a permanent basis. Having recently transitioned our financial system to Unit4 ERPx, you will play a vital role in optimising our finance systems, ensuring strong internal controls, and providing support to colleagues across the organisation.

In this high-profile position, you will serve as the in-house Unit4 super-user and subject matter expert, ensuring that the system delivers maximum value to the Finance team and the wider organisation. This role combines technical insight, leadership, and collaboration to strengthen our financial systems and processes.

About you
You will bring strong expertise in finance systems, with the ability to translate technical functionality into solutions that align with organisational goals. You should be a proactive problem-solver, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively across teams, and committed to driving continuous improvement.

- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years of system accounting experience.
- Significant experience with Unit4 ERPx or other ERP finance systems, particularly in a post-implementation context. Knowledge of Avalara and Proactis is beneficial.
- Ability to combine technical system knowledge with financial context to deliver business-focused solutions.
- Highly proficient in Excel and other data handling tools, with strong analytical skills.
- Proven experience managing multiple, complex programs of work in a demanding environment, with the ability to prioritize effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of working across departmental and hierarchical boundaries.
- Experience in driving quality and performance improvement through data-driven metrics and reporting.
- A track record of leading high-performing support teams, encouraging career development, and managing performance.

What you’ll focus on:

- Lead the administration and optimization of Unit4 ERPx, ensuring that finance processes are efficient, compliant, and effective.
- Translate finance and technical requirements into clear, actionable system changes.
- Manage system issues and enhancements, collaborating with Unit4 Support and internal stakeholders to quickly resolve challenges.
- Oversee data integrity, controls, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop reports and dashboards to drive insight, accountability, and informed decision-making across the organisation.
- Support, coach, and lead the Systems Officers, promoting high performance, learning, and professional growth within the team.
- Build trusted relationships with senior finance colleagues and external suppliers to maximize system capabilities.

Hertfordshire Mind Network deliver essential mental health support in Hertfordshire, providing a diverse range of services from our seven Wellbeing Centres and other venues across all ten districts of the county. Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: The role is based in East Croydon, accessible by Train and Tram Link. Unfortunately this location does not have step free access.

Salary: £40,000 (Full time equivalent)

Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week across three working days, Monday to Friday on a rota between 08:00 - 20:00

About the role

We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist. 

You will:

• Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills
• Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions
• Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly
• Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability
• Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs
• Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement
• Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies.  

About you

We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.

What we look for:

• Ability to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment for residents/participants.
• Willingness to work in adherence to Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Consultation Observation Tool (COT) and other practice guidelines.
• Ability to identify activity needs and wishes through various approaches such as assessments, observations, and discussions then use these to implement plans of action.
• Ability to recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.
• Supporting residents/participants with the relevant life skills, knowledge, and resources to support their journey to achieve independence and their desired goals.
• Ability to develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various projects and group engagement activities.

Prospectus is delighted to be working with the foundation to recruit a Funding Officer on a full-time (or 0.8) permanent basis to work on the Creative, Confident Communities (CCC) strategy as part of the team based in Kings Cross. Esmée operates on a hybrid basis, with a minimum requirement of two days in the office at Kings Cross (Tues & Weds). The role will also require UK travel on occasion.

The role:
This role will provide vital support to the foundation’s assessment and management of funding applications, grants, and programme development. The Funding Officer will manage the key administrative functions for the team, as well as a broad portfolio of grants and funding relationships, ensuring strong engagement with partners throughout their funding journey. A key part of the role will involve gathering learning from funded work through reviewing reports, calls, and visits, and feeding this learning into the wider CCC strategy.

Working closely with senior members of the team, the postholder will assess new funding applications, draft recommendations, and contribute to CCC’s strategic development, such as research, convening events, and visits. They will play an active role in supporting the foundation’s decision-making processes, while also contributing to collaborative projects and sector networks.

The person:
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, analytical, and curious, with an interest in one or more of the CCC focus areas. Experience in grant-making, funding, or working in a related environment would be an advantage but is not essential. What matters most is a strong interest in the work of charities, voluntary organisations, and community groups, and an ability to understand the challenges they face.

You will be confident managing and interpreting complex information, including financial data and project plans, and able to communicate your findings clearly both in writing and verbally. Strong administrative skills and database experience are important, alongside the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.

Personally, you will be empathetic, practical, and collaborative and able to build relationships with a wide range of people in a professional and supportive way. You will show sound judgment, flexibility, and a proactive attitude, with a commitment to the organisation's values of equity, justice, and integrity.

Community Outreach Worker (Community Support Service)

Purpose of Post

The Community Outreach Worker (Community Support Service) provides people with complex needs who have mental health as a primary need. This includes people who may have drug and alcohol difficulties. Particularly when they are coming into repeat contact with Police, Tenancy Sustainment Services, Housing and Homelessness Services and Environmental Health Services.

About the service

Our Community Support Service is here to provide advice, information and holistic outreach support to people who are experiencing mental ill-health or need help with their mental wellbeing. We work alongside people to develop an individually tailored package of support that meets their needs, working with clients to find the solutions that are right for them. This service is flexible to help resolve real-life difficulties and improve client’s independence, quality of life and wellbeing.

The service will be delivered in Three Rivers, based at the Herts Mind Network Wellbeing Centre, providing outreach around Three Rivers.

The purpose of the Community Support Service Outreach Worker is to:

• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with coexisting drug and alcohol difficulties and mental ill-health. These will be clients who are presenting to the Police, Anti-Social Behaviour, Tenancy Enforcement, Housing and Environmental Health Services within Three Rivers.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To raise greater awareness of complex needs and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) amongst local service providers. Supporting them to gain confidence in working positively and consistently with people who have multiple needs.
