Please note: the AMA is a 4-Day Week organisation, so our full time hours are 30 working hours per week (32 including breaks) for full time salary. These are usually worked Monday - Thursday, with Fridays as a non-working day, but we can be flexible on this. 

Camp Jojo is currently in transition. Over the first 8 years it has worked from one established site in Mersea, Essex; but we are now opening a second site (Nag’s Head Farm) near Appleby in Cumbria. The role of Volunteer Manager (Nags Head Farm) is to provide the management and administration of the key Volunteer sector of Camp Jojo, and to offer administrative support and feedback to members of the Camp Jojo Board in this regard.

The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for successful initial contact, recruitment, communication with and administration of volunteer for the Nag’s Head Farm camps, through to their successful placement at camp. They will also work closely with the Operations Manager: Families and Site Ops. (Nags Head Farm). They will be guided in their role with the existing managers at Ivy Farm, Mersea, Essex.

The primary task of the Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will be to oversee the whole process of Volunteer applications to camps at Nag’s Head Farm, and to maintain and develop databases in support of this. They will be the contact point for information and support throughout the Nag’s Head Farm volunteers’ pathway with Camp Jojo. In addition, they will attend and minute meetings which concern volunteer management, etc.

They may need to work flexibly; the demands will be seasonal, with many more hours needed through spring and summer than autumn and winter. They will also need to be present for the first day of the camps during the summer, which are mostly during the school holidays. The Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will have a varied and sometimes high-paced job environment. Finance and Operations Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR

Overseeing Operations at every level of the organisation, with line management responsibility for some of the team, Project and Workstream Coordinators (approximately 5 direct reports) plus some external consultants and contractors.

LOCATION OF THE POST HOLDER 

The post holder will be predominantly remote working but will be required to attend the head office and drop-in in Manchester, drop-in spaces in Glasgow and London, and support staff members nationally. The post involves some travel throughout the UK and some work outside of office hours.  All equipment required for remote working will be provided and costs for travel will be covered.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a Finance and Operations Manager to support the CEO in the day-to-day running of our charity. The NUM CEO develops the overall vision of the organisation, while the Operations Manager is responsible to carry out the vision. 

To be successful in this role, you should have experience as a manager in a position of public trust, have excellent financial, organisational, and communications skills, as well as being a problem-solver with work experience in high-pressure work environments. The Finance and Operations Manager must be versatile in their understanding of the larger vision and as well as the fine details and tactics needed to achieve NUM's goals.

The successful candidate will work in an agile manner to ensure the charity continues to be proactive and innovative, while also being responsive to the changing landscape within the sector and the international sex worker rights and safety movement. As part of supporting the operations of NUM, the successful candidate will provide resources, information and support to NUM Managers and Coordinators across diverse projects, workstreams and teams, to achieve aspects of the organisation’s mandate of 'ending all forms of violence against sex workers' and eliminating the conditions that lead to poverty and survival sex work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

• At least 3 years' work experience as a Manager, Project or Programme Manager or similar role that requires oversight of a whole system, business, operation or organisation Experience leading remote or hybrid teams is desired. This includes time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, lead team meetings and support members to manage resources, timelines and project budgets, etc. 

• At least two years’ experience in grant writing and fund development, as well as in financial management, with a demonstrated ability to co-develop budgets, cashflow forecasts and financial reporting as well as oversee banking activities and work with accountants and Trustees to ensure NUM’s financial health.

• Knowledge of the charity sector, the day-to-day running of a charity, business or similar organisation, and familiarity with the work of National Ugly Mugs and other sex worker-serving and sex worker-led organisations.

• Excellent leadership and delegation skills and experience. 

• Ability to support and execute on elements of NUM's policies and strategic plan. 

• Experience and training in Safeguarding and the ability to integrate appropriate safeguarding into all aspects of NUM services.

RSPB Scotland is seeking someone to lead the way in our ambition to raise and manage funding for the vital restoration of Scotland’s peatlands, to benefit biodiversity, the climate and communities.

This role will focus on ensuring that a pipeline of peatland restoration funding routes, including funding applications, bids, and expressions of interest, are identified, developed, submitted, and managed, to secure financial support from various sources (public and private). You will be responsible for making sure that project owners are aware of and adhere to all contractual requirements, prepare regular funding reports and work with partners to solve potential problems.

You will be expected to check and submit budgets, make financial claims and update income and project spreadsheets. You will work with RSPB teams and external stakeholders to identify and manage novel funding routes and opportunities to support the Scotland Peatland Programme, acting as a liaison between them and peatland project teams. In addition, you will play a central role of support to peatland teams developing projects for the IUCN Peatland Code, providing funding guidance and expertise and being responsible for ensuring documents are developed and submitted to ensure successful project validation.

This role will sit within the RSPB Scotland Fundraising team and will work closely with the Scotland Peatland Programme, and as such it requires someone who is independently motivated and able to manage potentially conflicting priorities. We will facilitate visits to RSPB peatland reserves across Scotland to help you understand the specifics of restoration on each site.

Camp Jojo is a small/medium, but growing charity with a committed team of Trustees, Special Advisors, and Volunteers. The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.

Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.

We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. Our direct support of schools

Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.

In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. Our focus on Policy & Research

Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.

In each of the past two years the number of policymakers, educators, parents and researchers accessing the National Parent Survey exceeded seven thousand, and the survey featured in more than two hundred media outlets each year. In addition to the National Parent Survey, Parentkind undertakes representative polling of parents throughout the year on a variety of important topics, which increasingly find exposure in the media and policy discussion.

Parentkind provides the secretariat for the Westminster APPG for Parents and the Stormont APG for Parental Participation in Education. • Someone with experience of appearing on broadcast media and willing to be a ‘talking head’ for Parentkind as required. This is not essential, but it would be great to have someone willing to do this.

About Children Not Numbers

The conflict in Gaza has left thousands of children in urgent need of medical care, trauma support, and long-term assistance. Children Not Numbers is a grassroots UK-based charity committed to the health, safety, education, and wellbeing of Gaza’s children.

Children Not Numbers was established in early 2024 to address the urgent need to support Palestinian children caught up amid an unprecedented conflict. Within 18 months, we have grown rapidly into a global network of c.200 staff and volunteers, most of whom are volunteer paediatric medics representing more than 30 subspecialties.

Our work includes:

• Emergency medical aid for sick and injured children in Gaza, delivered through collaboration between local staff and an international network of volunteer medics

• Short-term medical evacuation for urgent and complex cases – more than 230 children have been safely evacuated to date

• Rehabilitation and trauma support for children with life-changing injuries and extreme psychological trauma

• Maternal Support Programme – over 500 women supported across 1,100+ appointments

• Education and Empowerment Programme, currently supporting 300 children in Gaza with academic and psychological care

• International advocacy, including engagement with the UN, European Commission, UK government and other international bodies

About you

We are seeking a qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA) - or equivalent - with proven experience of budget development and financial reporting (trusts, foundations, or institutional funders). You will have a track record of managing supplier relationships, payment platforms, and international transactions, and a demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and reports for fundraising teams, boards, or trustees.

CONTEXT OF THIS ROLE:

At Purposeful, communications is political. It is how we amplify girls’ voices, sharpen feminist narratives, and push back against regressive agendas. The Communications Director will sit at the heart of this work - shaping and delivering a bold communications strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth.

This role leads the stewardship of Purposeful’s voice, visual identity, and storytelling practice, ensuring that everything we produce - whether op-eds, reports, campaigns, or digital content - carries our politics with clarity and conviction. The Communications Director will work closely with the Co-CEOs and across all Purposeful teams, including Advocacy, grant-making, Learning & Insights, Programmes, and Resource Mobilisation, to amplify girls’ organising, showcase our impact, and influence the broader philanthropic and activist ecosystem.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring a deep commitment to feminist movements, an instinct for storytelling as political practice, and a proven track record of positioning organisations on the global stage.

 

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Communications Strategy & Leadership

• Lead on delivery and implementation of a new communications strategy, building on 2025 planning foundations.

• Work closely with the Co-CEOs and director team to horizon scan and adapt strategy in response to organisational vision and external landscape.

• Provide leadership to a small team of staff and consultants (designers, digital specialists, artists) and work collaboratively with partner communications leads on joint campaigns and initiatives.

• Meticulously manage and forecast the communications and editorial budget, ensuring value for money and strong planning.

• Track and analyse content performance, using insights to refine reach and engagement.

2. Storytelling & Content Development

• Oversee the creation of compelling storytelling content that highlights Purposeful’s impact, amplifies girls’ and young feminists’ voices, and influences funders.

• Lead editorial planning and content workflows, balancing evergreen storytelling with crisis-response or time-sensitive outputs.

• Oversee production and capture of content from live and digital events (webinars, IG Lives, panels, etc.).

• Coordinate brand refresh projects, including a website refresh, and strengthen Purposeful’s digital visibility with a focus on graphic-led content across social platforms.

3. Writing & Editorial Oversight

• Review and edit all external content to ensure quality, editorial standard, and alignment with Purposeful’s voice and values.

• Write op-eds, blogs, social media posts, campaign messaging, press materials, and executive summaries.

• Collaborate with colleagues in Learning & Insights to integrate data into storytelling and publications.

• Edit and manage the production of publications and reports, commissioning artists and graphic designers as needed.

• Provide editorial oversight for media projects, including radio, film, and animation.

4. Media Engagement & Positioning

• Cultivate strong relationships with international, regional, and local media outlets.

• Proactively position Purposeful in global and regional conversations, ensuring girls’ and feminist movements’ voices are at the centre.

• Lead on preparing and supporting spokespersons, including Co-CEOs and external partners, for media engagement.

• Design and execute media strategies for key campaigns, events, and publications.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven experience developing and delivering communications strategies aligned with organisational goals.

• Demonstrated leadership in managing small teams and consultants.

• Strong hands-on skills in digital communication tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe, basic video editing).

The Community Fundraising team is looking for a Direct Marketing Manager (maternity cover), who will support our work in developing, promoting, and analysing our portfolio of Community Fundraising products to attract new and diverse audiences to raise vital funds for nature.

The post holder will support the launch of our Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising product, as well as supporting In Aid Of (IAO) fundraising activity across the UK. The role will support marketing requests across all new and existing Community Fundraising products and campaigns. The role requires a proficiency in data analytics and a track record in responding to trends and sector best practice.

You will have experience in direct marketing and be proficient in delivering multi-channel campaigns in a fast-paced environment. This role also requires an in depth knowledge of direct marketing techniques including testing, profiling, segmentation, return on investment analysis, cost per contact. You will have experience in managing multiple projects and budgets, as well as a track record in excellent stakeholder management. An understanding of Community Fundraising developments and best practice would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be driven, creative and possess excellent attention to detail.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Degree educated or equivalent experience in a direct marketing role
• Excellent understanding of the steps involved in planning and delivering multi-channel direct marketing campaigns

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and compassionate organisation. The role is offered as a part-time opportunity (3.5 days p/w), working from home.

Working within a dynamic Community and Events Team, this role will oversee a digital fundraising programme that currently raises over £2.1 million annually. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of three and delivering a busy calendar of digital events, driving innovation and engagement while maintaining world-class supporter experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategy and delivery of the charity’s digital fundraising events.
• Manage, motivate and develop a team of digital fundraising staff.
• Build and optimise paid social media campaigns across key platforms.

• Build and manage relationships with agencies, partners and stakeholders.

You’ll bring proven experience in digital fundraising or similar income-generating digital roles, be a confident project manager, able to oversee multiple campaigns and meet KPIs and have strong experience with paid social media advertising and digital supporter journeys.
