This exciting new role in our award-winning External Affairs Department will fight for the hospice sector and people who need their care and support.

This is a critical time for hospice and end of life care. Hospices across the UK are in the worst financial situation they have faced for 20 years. The funding crisis means hospices are cutting services and making redundancies.

But this is also a time of significant political opportunity. The Assisted Dying Bill has placed palliative care firmly on the agenda. We have recently secured £100m of emergency funding for the sector in England and the 10-year health plan has identified hospices as central to the shift from hospital to community. 

To seize this once in a generation opportunity, we are expanding our UK-wide policy and public affairs team from six to eight, including a new Policy and Public Affairs Manager. 

We are looking for a proactive and driven policy and public affairs professional with excellent influencing and communication skills. You will have your finger on the pulse and have strong policy and political knowledge that enables you to quickly understand and analyse the impact of external developments. 

You will be curious about how best to improve people’s experiences of death, dying and bereavement and strengthen the contribution of the hospice sector to this. As well as collaborative and committed to building coalitions to maximise our impact. 

You will provide leadership but must also be willing to pitch in at all levels to get things done. Excellent project management skills will mean you can identify where our resource is best spent and how to delegate tasks. This exciting new role in our award-winning External Affairs Department will fight for the hospice sector and people who need their care and support.

You will personally lead an impressive and wide ranging portfolio of work. This includes leading the charge on securing long-reform of the way hospices are funded in England and taking the next steps in our UK-wide policy and public affairs work on access to palliative and end of life care for people living in financial hardship. You will also line manage a new Policy and Public Affairs Assistant who will be supporting our team across all four nations of the UK.

CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. At this time, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.

In 2021, CSAN launched its strategy to extend the social mission of the Church in a post-COVID society. We are developing the infrastructure of the social action network of the Church in England and Wales, including new alliances for diocesan Caritas agencies, advocacy and migration. As our Senior Officer for Migration, you will help to raise awareness of migration issues from the perspective of Catholic Social Teaching and lead on our Ambassadors Programme against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, as well as prepare briefings and campaign responses to Government legislation.

Over the last 20 years, CSAN has established a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities, with a combined annual expenditure on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.

The key responsibilities of the Senior Migration Officer are:

1. To provide timely information to the CSAN team and the network on UK Government resettlement programmes and legislation on immigration.

2. To support CSAN’s work to improve public policy and practice on immigration, with compelling evidence from our network, and enabling effective participation in advocacy for a humane system.

3. To work closely with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales on issues of migration and human trafficking.

4. To lead the implementation of the Gubay-

funded CSAN Ambassadors against Human Trafficking programme, preparing and delivering programme materials.

5. To support cross-cutting key workstreams and alliances in CSAN, especially the Domestic Abuse alliance and racial justice, in partnership with the Bishops’ Conference.

About the role:

The CSA Centre aims to reduce the impact of child sexual abuse through improved prevention and better response, and our work in influencing and shaping policy at local, regional and national level is key to that mission.

As our Policy Manager, you will play an important role in developing and delivering the CSA Centre's policy influencing activities over the immediate and longer term, helping us to ensure that our evidence, learning and resources have the widest possible reach and impact at both local and national level.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the CSA Centre's Senior Management Team and our multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team, enabling you to draw on expertise from a wide range of different professional backgrounds, and with colleagues from across Government and key stakeholder groups.

We are looking for a motivated person with strong skills and experience in policy roles, and the ability to manage an extensive and varied workload to deliver multiple objectives. Policy activity at the CSA Centre is extremely diverse; in any given week you might find yourself joining (or in many cases leading) discussions with other leading charities to agree a joint influencing plan for new government legislation, meeting with senior civil servants to discuss proposed changes to legislation or guidance, working with the Senior Management Team to develop new policy positions on emerging areas of concern, linking up with our specialist practice improvement advisers or research and evaluation team to consider the policy implications of new CSA Centre initiatives… No two days are the same!

As Policy Manager at the CSA Centre you will play a key role in tackling child sexual abuse, alongside the work of our colleagues across practice, research, communications and training. This is important work - the CSA Centre conservatively estimates that one in ten children will experience some form of child sexual abuse before age of 16, and our ambitious programme seeks to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of professionals (social workers, teachers, social workers, nurses etc.) in identifying and responding to child sexual abuse. We have already made great progress, but there is much more to be done – and we need your help to do it!

This role is currently funded until 31 March 2026, in line with the current grant funding arrangements for the CSA Centre. This will be reviewed in late 2025, as future funding for the CSA Centre from 2026/27 onwards is clarified.

· Promoting a strong partnership/team ethos and collaborative ways of working both within the programme team and wider Homewards partnership

The Benefits Service within South East London Mind is a well-established offer of support to clients who need to access welfare benefits they are entitled to receive. The service currently provides casework support for people who need to challenge benefits decisions across the three boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich. There is also a cross-area team of volunteers who assist with form filling and all aspects of the assessment process.

We are looking for a Benefits Service Manager with significant experience of working within welfare benefits. You will have a good understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems and the links with welfare issues. You will take responsibility for the quality of support the team deliver to ensure it is robust and accountable. We hope to be able to extend our offer of support in the future so it will be important you have an interest in developing the service.

Applicants should have previous experience of thinking strategically to develop a service and of managing a team to deliver the support. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

We are looking for an experienced, confident and relationship-focussed fundraiser to join us as Partnerships and Stewardship Manager, to help build deep and meaningful relationships with corporate donors and prospective corporate donors who have the potential to transform the future and impact of UAL. 

The Partnerships and Stewardship Manager will raise philanthropic income from new business and existing corporate partnerships to further innovative research, education, capital and student support and other UAL core priorities.

The role is based in the Development & Alumni Relations team at UAL which is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of principal gifts, major gifts, trusts and foundations and corporate donors.

This is a hybrid role, based at UAL’s High Holborn site but will also include time spent at the Colleges. The role will give you the opportunity to work closely with colleagues in world-leading departments on a wide range of strategic funding propositions.

The Communications Manager is essential in driving delivery of our ambitious programme of work, with the communications team centrally located to work in partnership with our colleagues across all directorates and nations. Role Overview: 

The Parks Team are a passionate group of professionals, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, playgrounds, allotments and other greenspaces. We are keen to recognise, value, manage and enhance the biodiversity and plant heritage of our landscapes and contribute to a healthy planet and the wellbeing of our communities.

The borough of Wandsworth has one of the richest varieties of open spaces in central London.  Enable Leisure and Culture is a non-for profit charitable organisation and the lead contractor employed by Wandsworth Borough Council to provide management and maintenance of the boroughs 32 greenspaces.  This role is part of the Enable Parks team, a passionate group of people, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, allotments and other greenspaces. We are keen to recognise, value, manage and enhance the natural and heritage landscapes that we manage - contributing to a healthy planet and the wellbeing of our communities.

The role of Parks Volunteer Programme coordinator in the Enable Parks team will allow you to demonstrate your skills working with stakeholders and local communities to deliver park improvements, habitat management tasks and one-off volunteering opportunities. You will assist with developing working relations with existing corporate partners and increasing our reach by creating new partnerships in the local area and beyond. 

Your responsibility will be to manage and deliver volunteering sessions throughout the entire portfolio of parks and greenspaces.  You will develop a volunteering program which is established but in its infancy, working with key managers and the team around you to create a purposeful and output focussed programme of opportunities for local groups and corporate partners.  The potential to develop volunteering is significant, and therefore the most suitable candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to ‘make things happens’. 

You will be responsible for creating each volunteer session as it addresses improvements or enhancements, and manage the needs of all volunteers throughout their experience.  You will have responsibility for Health and Safety, external and internal contacts and be the lead person co-ordinating all associated admin tasks to create enjoyable and productive volunteer sessions in Wandsworth.   

Another key aspect of the role will be strengthening links with businesses and organisations in the local area and beyond to develop a consistent pipeline of volunteer sessions that help improve Wandsworth parks and provide opportunities for people to give back. 

You will need to gain a good understanding of all the work we do including our plans for future improvements.  You will do this with the help of the Parks team and other collaborative service areas in Enable allowing you to design exciting output focussed activities and sessions. 

We are looking for an energetic individual who thrives on juggling multiple tasks and who can work collaboratively with a likeminded team. You will need to have a keen eye for detail, be friendly, open, enjoy spending time outdoors (in all weather) and have experience working with and managing volunteers, in a hands-on conservation or park setting.

As an organisation, Enable have local communities and users at the heart of all decisions we make.  Due to this there is a requirement for this role to have close ties with the Enable Community Development Team who are driving our networks and work in the wider community.   Our future aspirations include developing an exciting, engaging and purposeful volunteer programme across all our services which include outdoor Events and Filming, Leisure, Bereavement, Putney School of Art and Design and Health and Wellbeing.  The role of Parks Volunteer coordinator will over time have the opportunity to work in partnership with a number of exciting projects in these areas. 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Responsible to the Parks Delivery Manager for all aspects of parks volunteering development and delivery across open spaces in Wandsworth.  Including Health and Safety, budget management, relationship management, business development
• To develop a relevant and interesting programme of ‘volunteer sessions’ or ‘volunteer days’ that can be delivered alongside standard maintenance programmes, and provide added value to the work that Enable carry out on behalf of Wandsworth Council. 
• Responsible for the efficient on site delivery of volunteer sessions for Enable. 
• Proactively develop existing relationships with local businesses and communities to attract a regular pipeline of groups that can access volunteering opportunities with Enable. 
• Work with colleagues in the Parks team and all other internal departments to design activities that fulfil the ambitions of Wandsworth Borough Council and wider Enable company strategic objectives. 
• Support colleagues in the Parks team with daily operational and project works where relevant, as directed by the Parks Delivery Manager. 

Skills and Experience:  

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or appropriate experience in a directly related post.
• Experience of working in a volunteer management, coordination or programming role, or similar work delivering practical biodiversity, habitat or landscape management. 
• Proven ability to organise, plan, and manage projects effectively (including budget management, Health and Safety oversight, and environmental monitoring data). 
• Experience of managing / supporting volunteers (delivering soft/hard landscaping improvements with volunteers is desirable.)  
• Experience of developing annual outdoor educational/volunteering programmes for a wide range of participants.
• Entrepreneurial and customer service focussed, to allow the volunteer programme to develop into a sustainable, profitable and scalable service area. 
• The ability to work independently using your own initiative and prioritise effectively whilst at the same time working collaboratively as part of a team on common goals and shared projects to ensure the work programme is delivered effectively.
