The Supporter Services Team Leader will be responsible for promoting and delivering excellent supporter care to existing, potential and previous supporters of Battersea, developing relationships and maximising income for Battersea.
They will be a point of escalation for the supporter services team and will support and develop a team of volunteers. The role will lead on key fundraising products, proactively sharing information with stakeholders.

Objectives

• Provide first line of support to Supporter Services Administrators to ensure donations are processed promptly and efficiently and update the Income Generation database with accurate donation and supporter information
• Prepare and share weekly rota's allocating tasks per day for Supporter Services Administrators
• Ensure that volunteers, who assist the team to handle supporter enquiries, are appropriately recruited, trained and supported
• Decide the workload of the volunteers to get the maximum mutual benefit
• Take the lead on key products working with product owners to ensure the best supporter care
• Review and improve the volunteer team’s outputs for quality and accuracy, suggesting and implementing improvements as necessary
• Act within all relevant legislation and sector best practice, including PCI DSS compliance, the Data Protection Act, Gift Aid rules and regulations and the Institute of Fundraising and Fundraising Regulator codes of conduct

Skills, experience and professional qualifications required:

• CIPD qualified, level 5 or above

• Experience of providing HR support for a remote and flexible working organisation
• Experience of working for a small to medium sized organisation in a HR stand-alone role
• Experience of managing a wide range of employee relations (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, performance improvement, dismissal, absence management), policy development and health & safety compliance
• Experience of managing staff recruitment, selection, onboarding and offboarding
• Experience of managing a cloud-based HR system, integrated with payroll, for the whole organisation
• Analytical skills to draw out useful information to inform reports and actions
• Ability to confidently and cogently influence and support managers at all levels
• Experience of contributing to the creation of a values-led, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture
• Experience managing and maintaining HR systems and reporting tools
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365, Excel, HR and payroll cloud-based systems

Involving people affected by sarcoma

• Strengthen and support our existing Involvement Network, keeping members engaged and informed.

The Organisation

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity that manages over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. The Role

Working with the Director of Estates & Projects, as our Head of Projects, you will lead our Projects team in the delivery of a diverse range of capital projects across the Royal Parks estate.

Duties and Key Responsibilites 

Sarcoma UK’s research programme

• To support Sarcoma UK’s grant application processes under guidance from the Acting Head of Research. This will include calls for proposals, identifying expert peer reviewers, administering a high-quality peer and lay review process, communication with applicants and potential applicants, administration of grant awards and supporting patient involvement.
• To provide support to the Grant Review Panel and Research Strategy Committee, including organising meetings and preparing minutes.
• To manage Sarcoma UK’s portfolio of active research grants, under guidance from the Acting Head of Research. This will include administration of newly awarded grants, monitoring progress of current grants, oversight of grant finances and reporting on final outputs.
• To support opportunities for patient involvement within the research programme, including managing a network of lay reviewers and facilitating new opportunities, with support from the Patient Involvement Coordinator.
• To support new developments in Sarcoma UK’s research programme, including organising and attending events, collaborative funding calls and initiatives to support early career researchers. 

Research Impact and Communications

• To monitor and gather outputs and long-term impact of research grants funded by Sarcoma UK and support in ensuring these are shared with internal and external audiences.
• To plan and produce engaging and reactive and proactive communications about sarcoma research, including website, social media, written and video content, working with the Acting Head of Research and Communications Team to ensure our research activities and outcomes are shared with the sarcoma community and wider public.

An exciting career opportunity for an enthusiastic and initiative-taking health promoter to work as part of THT South’s dynamic Brighton based health promotion team. You will be delivering health promotion interventions, supporting, and advising individuals from at-risk communities with the aim of reducing HIV risk and maximising sexual health.

The focus of your work will be the delivery of  HIV and STI testing via our central Brighton clinic to group most impacted by poor sexual health. You will receive full training to deliver testing, but any previous clinical experience is welcome.

You will have a good understanding of the issues relating to HIV and poor sexual health and knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of higher risk adults in relation to HIV and sexual health promotion.

You will also lead on our local social media activity, promoting the service and our campaigns consulting with our digital team and working within the charity’s guidelines.

Are you an experienced manager with a sound knowledge of financial management procedures, HR and governance?

We are looking for a savvy and adaptable finance and business operations manager to support our charity with financial management, HR operations, governance and office management.

You will be an experienced manager with strong all-round finance capabilities, driven to ensure robustness and efficiency across all elements of our finance, HR and governance in a busy charity setting.

You will be adept at managing multiple income streams in a complex environment, enjoy supporting Trustees and colleagues in day to day financial management and HR processes as well as working with the Head of Finance and Leadership team on strategic finance and business planning discussions, providing relevant and up to date financial and HR information, taking responsibility for the charity’s day to day accounting and business operation functions.

• Ensuring sound financial and governance procedures and control.
• Overseeing the management of the charity’s internal business operations, including payroll, HR and premises.

• Advising on budget drafting and resourcing for new activity and funding bids, including developing and implementing the full cost recovery model.

Key Responsibilities

Research grant management

• Managing the delivery of GOSH Charity’s response-mode funding schemes, including our National Research Project Grant and ‘Lift Off’ pilot study funding call and others.
• Supporting potential applicants via email, phone or in person to ensure we receive high quality grant applications. 
• Processing, reviewing and validating grant applications. 
• Leading the peer review process using our Grant Management System.
• Project managing the delivery of the Research Assessment Panel.
• Supporting the input of patient and public voice, to ensure they’re built into our research funding decision making. 

Committee management

• Providing operational and secretariat support to the Research Assessment Panel and Lift Off Scientific Assessment Panels, and other expert research review panels as required.
• Managing agendas and meeting logistics, including face to face meetings as they are arranged.
• Preparing papers and reports, and collating these from across the team for delivery to the Committee in good time.
• Preparing high quality minutes that provide a clear record of discussions, decisions, and actions, and disseminating these following internal and Chair approval.
• Support the regular review of the Committee membership and tenure.
• Evaluating and recommending improvement and applying sector best practice to the Committee operations.
• Being a first point of call for Committee members, supporting them to deliver their role and ensuring they have a good experience working with GOSH Charity

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Previous experience working in grants management or within relevant scientific research. 
• Knowledge of research principles and the UK research funding environment. 
• Sound knowledge of paediatric research or similar discipline. 
• Demonstrate experience of research quality assessments, including peer review.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail. 
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once. 
• Strong relationship builder, with the ability to network in the scientific, clinical and research communities.

About the Role

We are looking for a resourceful, energetic and outgoing individual who can deal effectively with challenging situations and behaviour, motivate young people to manage risk and support a team of professional staff.

Key aspects of the job will be: 

· To safeguard young people through sound management strategies, collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.

· To work closely with the local authorities to reduce young people’s offending behaviour and support them to complete their court orders.

· To provide regular supervision for staff and assess training needs to required performance and development standards. To source and/or deliver training and coaching where appropriate.

Applicants should have

•Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, Youth justice, Children’s Residential Care or

Youth Work.

• At least three years’ experience of providing leaving care, housing support or residential care to

Children and young people

• At least one year’s experience of effectively managing a supported accommodation or residential

service for children and young people.

· A good understanding of contextual safeguarding, The Children’s Act 1989 and the Supported Accommodation Standards and Regulations 2023.

· Thorough knowledge of the issues pertaining to young people’s offending, including those relating to alcohol/drug dependency and mental health and complex needs.

· An understanding of restorative justice.

· Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges that non-white young people face within the criminal justice system

· Familiarity with the welfare benefits system and with the range of resources, statutory and non-statutory agencies and services relevant to supporting young people, particularly Youth Offending Services.

· Awareness of  Health and Safety and GDPR Regulations.

· A strong commitment to person centred and inclusive practice.
