ABOUT THE ROLE:
The role is essential to delivering the charities income targets for Trusts and Foundations and developing long term relationships. In addition, the post holder will support the Head of Income Generation with approaching, reporting, and maintaining Trust and Foundation relationships for major appeals.
he Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team and focus on delivering income targets from trusts and foundations. The role is responsible for growing LDCT’s trust and foundation income by increasing the amount and longevity of funding from current supporters, as well as building a portfolio of new trusts and foundations through research, maintaining a pipeline of prospects, updating the Funding Matrix and making successful applications. Building good relationships with new funders including regular reporting, as well as good stewardship of existing funders, is an important part of the role.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Delivering on fundraising priorities and targets for trusts and foundations income, including our current and future major appeals.
- Researching, identifying, and prioritising appropriate trusts and foundations to maintain and convert a pipeline of new, prospective trusts and foundations.
- Working with colleagues across the organisation to help shape projects for funding and creating strong Cases for Support to ensure effective applications.
- Writing and submitting high quality targeted funding applications.
- Maintaining an effective stewardship programme for trusts and foundations including appropriate accurate records, ensuring the fundraising e-Tapestry database is kept up-todate and that fundraising income is processed efficiently with timely thank you letters and acknowledgements.
- Managing relationships with existing and new funders to encourage maximum funding, multi-year funding awards and repeat funding.
- Monitoring outcomes, updating the Funding Matrix and producing timely reports and information as required externally by funders and internally for Management reporting.
- Promoting the support of funders through press releases and social media posts.
- Adhering to standards of fundraising best practise as set out in the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practise and ensuring all activities comply with relevant Data Protection obligations and any other legislation

Income Supervisor

Do you have accounting experience and the ability to support and supervise a small team? Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint an Income Supervisor to lead and coordinate the Income team within our Finance Department.
The main responsibilities are to:
- Supervise a small income team and volunteers.
- Manage, control, analyse and reconcile income onto the financial ledger and the donor database.
- Manage the entry of all direct bank receipts and income from online giving platforms, including set up and monitoring all standing orders and associated bank reconciliation.
- Oversee weekly cash counts for banking via G4S security.
- Act as the main point of contact with the finance department for all retail operations staff and ensure all retail shop income is recorded correctly and reconciles to the retail system.
- Be the main point of contact and information for all income issues, liaising with other departments as required.
- Manage the Gift Aid declaration process including the correct entry on donor database and the scanning process.
The successful candidate will have:
- AAT level 4 / MAAT or be qualified by experience to this level.
- A detailed knowledge of financial accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
- Experience of complex reconciliations of high-volume transactional data.
- Proven experience of implementing & managing strong financial controls.
- Familiarity with accounting in charity sector and gift aid welcomed.
- Experience of operating specialised accounting systems – PT uses Microsoft Business Central.
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, basic pivot, SUMIFS, conditional formatting and similar)
- Excellent communication skills across all levels.
- Strong planning, organisational and flexibility skills.
- Some experience of leading a team (staff & volunteers).

- Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
- Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
- Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.

Hours:
This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.

Mapping out and developing our major donor programme for the next twelve months and beyond - planning a calendar of content and touch points to further cultivate and steward our key donors, such as exclusive webinars, networking meet-ups or larger fundraising events.

Coordinating the major donor version of our annual supporter survey - collaborating with colleagues to align this to our general supporter survey, targeting questions with a major donor audience in mind, collating and analysing responses, and using them to inform and develop our major donor programme.

Hosting donors at events - inviting them to protests and other events, such as our legal challenge against the use of Frankenchickens, and making sure they are well looked after.

Prospect research - identifying, researching and assessing potential new major gifts prospects, and then developing cultivation plans for further engagement.

We are seeking to recruit a person with passion for our purpose and a collaborative spirit to be the strategic lead on our football and multisport commitment.
The multi-sport facilities commitment is a key priority within Sport England’s Uniting the Movement Implementation Plan. As part of this commitment, up to £224 million of Government funding is being invested into football facilities for 2022-25 through the Football Foundation, with a minimum of 40% of that investment required to benefit other sports.
We are seeking a strategic lead who will focus on supporting our Active Partnership network to activate football and multi-sport community sites through influencing policy, distributing funds and working closely with key National Governing Bodies, sporting and football stakeholders to develop positive and sustainable relationships.
This role and the work of colleagues, including local Active Partnerships, ensures local communities have more access to places to play football and other sports in their local area and aligns with Sport England’s Uniting the Movement strategy.
The strategic lead will also work closely with the Multi-Sport programme manager and Active Environment lead to oversee the Multi-Sport Activity and Facilities Fund, which was announced last year and which will provide revenue funding to deliver multi-sport activity and some small-scale capital test and learn investment. Close working with the eight regional leads who liaise with local Active Partnerships will also be vital.
The Active Partnerships National Organisation (ANPO) will work on the programme alongside key partners. These include Active Partnerships from across the network to deliver the fund locally, the Football Foundation, the LTA Parks Tennis, England Hockey, and Sport England. The latter has invested £8 million of National Lottery funding across a four-year period.
The fund is an opportunity for local communities to fully benefit from facility activation investment in their area, where an opportunity for new multi-sport activity has been identified. The fund will focus on activating PlayZones and other Football Foundation 3G or grass pitches, parks (Lawn Tennis Association Parks Tennis) and artificial grass pitch sites (England Hockey) in targeted areas. Selection is based on criteria such as Active Partnerships priority places and Sport England’s place-based expansion.
Roles and Responsibilities
•Develop and lead relationships with Sport England and strategic partners, specifically with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) leads and the Football Foundation.
•Link to and support wider areas of football work through Sport England, the Football Foundation, the Football Association and other football partners, ensuring strong connectivity with the Active Partnerships network.
•Be responsible and accountable for developing and delivering against an agreed strategic and operational framework, including risk management, governance, and evaluation.
•Develop and support implementation of strategic frameworks for communication and monitoring, evaluation and learning for the investment, ensuring a joined-up approach to maximise the impact.
•Contribute towards achieving the Active Partnerships National Organisation’s strategy and linking football and multi-sport facilities investment to other pieces of work across the national team.
•Ensure equality equity diversity and inclusion, as well as sustainability, are key considerations for this area of work.
•Be responsible for ensuring that the local Active Partnerships network has the opportunity to be embedded across all areas of football and multi-sport investment including multi-sport facilities and PlayZones.
•Line manage other staff e.g. Programme Manager, Active Environments officer and regional multi-sport leads to ensure they are connected into local Active Partnerships and national sector partners, in addition to supporting their training needs.
•Be the budget holder for all the investment and work with Sport England, to ensure any use of central resource is insight led and effective.
•Create and support the delivery of Communities of Practice and the work plan for the programme.

The purpose of the role is to drive and deliver our ambitious fundraising strategy in order to support the work of Life. The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering the end-to-end experience of existing supporters as well as attaining new supporters.

Purpose of the post
The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role within HDR UK, as the key point of contact and financial support for the Institute Office teams. The Finance Business Partner supports key non- finance stakeholders to provide timely and insightful analysis and reporting and supports with the alignment of financial plans to operational and strategic priorities. - Support the Junior Finance Business Partner in utilising JET Reports to generate monthly management accounts for our Senior Leadership Team and Budget Holders, ensuring their accuracy and timely delivery.
Experience
- CCAB qualified or part qualified, or with a minimum of 4 years practical experience in financial analysis or business partnering roles.
- Experience of grant or fund management, reporting, and liaising with external funding bodies.
The following is desired but not essential:
- Prior experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Prior experience of JET reporting software.
- Experience developing financial models.
- Experience of producing financial reports.
- Experience of working in the higher education or not-for-profit sectors.
Skills
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts.
- Ability to interpret complex data and apply problem solving techniques.
- Ability to support a number of different colleagues at the same time with their business partnering needs, managing competing priorities.
- Attention to detail and a focus on quality in the outputs that are produced.
- Service oriented and comfortable continuously developing and refining processes and reporting.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with people at all levels.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non- finance stakeholders.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
