BACKGROUND
RISE (Reimagining Industry to Support Equality) is a new collaboration focused on accelerating and expanding gender equality and women’s empowerment across global supply chains, through the delivery of workplace interventions and greater cross-sector collaboration. Our mission is to empower women workers, embed gender equality in business practice and catalyze systems change with an initial focus on the apparel, footwear, and home textile sectors. RISE is a membership organization that works with the world’s largest apparel and footwear brands as well as suppliers as members. Founded by BSR, CARE, ILO-IFC Better Work, and Gap In, RISE is hosted by BSR with a longer-term intention of becoming an independent not-for-profit entity.
RISE is now seeking the support of a fundraising contractor to help us achieve our new fundraising strategy and plans for significant expansion of our work. RISE has a mixed funding model and receives funding from private sector, philanthropic foundations, corporate foundations, bilateral agencies and could receive funding from multilateral agencies. This role will support RISE on grant fundraising.
We are looking for a self-starter with strong grant fundraising experience and network who is equally happy partnering with the team on new project ideas, writing proposals, expanding prospects and presenting to donors. We expect you to share our commitment to seeking a fairer future for women working in global supply chains and wants to join us to help scale our work through year-on-year income growth.
Time commitment: On average of 2-3 days/week with some periods being more intense than others.
Location: The Contractor can be remote, preferably located in the US or Europe. The person will report to the Executive Director, based in London.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Proposal and Concept Development
- Partner with subject matter experts at RISE to brainstorm and develop impactful new project ideas and turn these into concept notes or fundraising campaigns.
- Lead on grant proposal development for priority concepts. This involves drafting a compelling project narrative that translates our work for a donor audience, as well as program activities and outcomes, and a logical framework or theory of change.
- Lead on development of case for support, capability statements and pitch materials.
- Lead on complex, multi-year budget development for proposals in compliance with donor requirements and in line with RISE and BSR operational, financial and compliance guidelines for grant funding.
- Work with RISE Executive Director and wider RISE team on developing a healthy grant pipeline.
Donor Engagement
- Build on RISE’s existing donor networks and relationships to lead donor engagement and secure new funding in support of RISE’s priority action areas. This will involve:
- Broadening RISE’s base of donors by identifying priority donor targets and seeking ways to build new donor relationships, with particular focus around philanthropic foundations, corporate foundations and bilateral agencies.
- Maintaining regular communications with relevant donors and seeking ways to involve them in RISE’s work.
- Partner with RISE Associate Director for Business Partnerships on development and outreach to RISE members on grant funding opportunities, in particular collaborative or joint opportunities.
- Developing and implementing outreach plans for priority concepts.
- Lead on or partner with RISE subject matter experts and leadership on donor presentations and pitch-meetings.
- Keeping RISE team up to date with donor intelligence.
- Represent RISE, as agreed, at relevant conferences or events where RISE priority donors are present.
Fundraising planning
- Work with Executive Director to develop annual workplans for fundraising/business development/partnership building.
- Input into fundraising strategy and strategic reviews – including priority areas of focus, strategies for increasing grant funding, and ways to enhance internal collaboration with content experts.
The Scope of Work is not an exhaustive list of duties but is intended to reflect a range of duties the consultant will perform. The Fundraising Contractor agree priorities with RISE Executive Director. The Scope of Work will be reviewed regularly and may be changed in the light of experience and in consultation with the Contractor.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience with developing and winning grants including writing concepts, high quality grant proposals.
- Demonstrated expertise with conveying a theory of change and developing logframes, budgets, and work plans for complex, multi-year and global projects in collaboration with program team.
- Good understanding of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and the private sector’s role in achieving the SDGs.
- Knowledge of the international donor landscape and trends, with existing networks and demonstrable success in securing grant funding from a diverse group of donors including private and corporate foundations and governments.
- Ability to drive strategic work and engage colleagues around collective action/implementation.
- Demonstrated fluency in English, including advanced writing and editing, with the ability to communicate ideas effectively and concisely.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams, including across diverse geographies and interacting with senior staff in donor organizations.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- High ethical standards and commitment to RISE core values of agency, inclusion and collaboration.
REPORTING
The Contractor will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Associate Director Business Partnerships, Program Director and Country and Program Managers. The Contractor will also partner with work closely with the BSR Grants and Foundation team.

PAYMENT

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving forward the charity’s service improvement priorities to improve health and care services for people with Parkinson’s.
Using your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.
You’ll support the development of a vibrant regional network, working in collaboration with the Professional Engagement team and the regional clinical leads. This role is home based with the requirement to travel around your assigned geography and attendance of team meetings in our London office. There may also be the requirement for occasional overnight stay.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.
You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.
This role is about;
• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);
• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;
• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;
• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and
• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.
Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. About the role
As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. About Pancreatic Cancer Action:
Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever.
Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding.
With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and grow the annual programme of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
- Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing community and events audiences and fundraising opportunities with a particular focus on England. Ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
- Manage the delivery of the virtual challenge events. Add insight and support the annual Pancreatic Awareness Month Campaign and help to further develop Pyjama’s for Pan Can to new audiences.
- As a senior member of the Income Generation Team you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise.
- Responsible for the delivery and recruitment into PCA’s Challenge Events programme making sure participants receive exceptional supporter care.
- Develop compelling and engaging third party fundraising materials to inspire supporters to reach their maximum fundraising targets.
- Contribute to the development of automated and integrated supporter journey and engagement plans with the support of the Head of Income Generation to ensure a consistent and efficient supporter experience.

- Attending when necessary, external events, conferences and exhibitions across the UK and being the face of Pancreatic Cancer Action, acknowledging that some of these may involve overnight stays and weekends.
Income and targets
- Help to grow Pancreatic Cancer Action’s income from community and challenge event fundraisers.
- Develop ongoing stewardship journey for Community/DIY Fundraisers and increase average gift though exceptional supporter care.
- Achieve Financial and non-financial targets and KPI’s from corporate and community fundraising as agreed with the Head of Income Generation.
- Monitor and control allocated fundraising budgets and regularly update the Head of Income Generation.
- Prepare and monitor reporting for all online fundraising platforms to fit with our accounting systems reporting this to the Head of Income Generation monthly.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Press and Campaigns Officer to raise the profile of Carers First, building our brand awareness and engagement levels to reach new carers. The successful candidate will also help to raise awareness of the issues affecting carers and be responsible for our press and media activity, helping us to secure national and local coverage.
You will work to increase the charity’s local presence improving visibility and helping to increase engagement with Carers First across all the areas in which we work, supporting with the development and delivery of our campaigns and projects.
To be successful you will require 1-2 years of experience in a public relations or communications position, ideally within the charity or public sectors, excellent IT skills including ability to use Microsoft Office suite, along with superb organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and show attention to detail.

The primary purpose of this role is to help children and young people take practical steps to become more digitally resilient and be safer online. Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.
Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Our talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. With 98% of young people now active internet users, current and future generations grow up having to navigate new and evolving digital dangers. Training: All necessary training will be provided, and time spent in training will be compensated.
More specifically, the post holders will:
• Research speaking opportunities and engage/build sustainable relationships with schools and other youth spaces with the aim of securing speaking engagements (known as bookings).
• Work with the Breck Foundation team to set up all new speaking engagements and ensure set communication processes are met and all calendar entries completed.
• Maintain relationships with named contacts within schools and other youth spaces with a view to achieving repeat bookings.
• Where practical, to attend and deliver bookings at different locations using the Foundation’s standardised PowerPoint presentations, with a commitment to educate/raise awareness among young people, staff, parents & carers about the dangers young people face from online grooming through gaming and social media and other online harms. School Engagement Officer (Freelance) Role Description
• Where impractical to deliver bookings secured, to work with the Foundation team to ensure that the booking is assigned appropriately and delivered to a high standard.
• Represent the Foundation in a professional manner and to protect and advance the Foundation’s profile in all engagements, including to work collaboratively with other colleagues to identify new ways to raise awareness of the foundation’s mission and to help expand their scope, reach and geographical coverage and income generation capabilities.
• If delivering bookings, carryout pre- and post-delivery engagements, including sharing pre and post presentation packs with schools and actively seeking feedback, testimonials and even Vox Pops where possible; and to log these on Salesforce.
• Reporting of data to contribute to organisational impact, including using surveys to document statistics for each engagement, for example number of pupils reached by age group.
• Log all notable interactions with schools and other organisation and institutions in the relevant organisation’s Salesforce account to enable the team to avoid duplication and maintain professionalism in our engagements with them.
• Provide ad hoc services which may be requested from time to time.

About the role:
The role of Triage and Early Interventions Officer (TEIO) is a fast paced one which requires the post holder to answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to victims of crime and those accessing the service in Cumbria.
As a TEIO, you will;
- answer incoming calls, speaking to those affected by crime & manage a caseload
- make outgoing calls, assess needs and risks and action plan with callers
- work on the case management system to allocate cases, provide administration on cases and assess/ensure data quality
- liaise with other agencies where required to find out more information, give information or make referrals or give signposting information
- work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service is given to those affected by crime
You will be a confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.
You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

Using the Macmillan Electronic Holistic Needs Assessment to support Cancer Care Reviews will ensure patients have access to the right support for all their non-clinical needs. The post will also work on the preventative agenda, supporting uptake of cancer screening across the PCNs and supporting the practices within the PCNs to deliver their improvement plan around early diagnosis of cancer. (in line with NHS England and NHS Improvement - QOF Quality Improvement domain 20/21 – Early diagnosis of cancer).
You will work in partnership with GP surgeries to give non-medical support that maximises patients’ wellbeing through their Cancer journey. The primary role is to do Cancer Care Reviews, with access to each surgery’s IT systems to track patient lists, document, and communicate with practice staff. This role will involve liaising with services from within the NHS structure as well as external services, so you will need to be skilled in navigating intricate processes and organisational structures from both the inside and the outside. You will also help with improving screening uptake and community engagement, building relationships with local services and groups to further enhance the support.
