Early Years Advisor

We are looking for Early Years Advisors to join the team supporting the contract delivery of our Maths Champions programmes.

Maths Champions is an online professional development programme, enabling early years settings to access CPD from their setting without the need to release staff to attend external training. The programme provides a range of evidence based training, reflective tools, resources and support from an Early Years Advisor.

This role offers remote working and there are 8 positions available.

Position: Early Years Advisor (Champions Programme) x8 posts

Location: Homebased

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: 30k increasing to £32k following probation

Contract: Fixed term contract until 31st July 2027

The Role

You will support the contract delivery of the Maths Champions programmes, ensuring contract milestones are met. The Champions programmes are online professional development programmes designed to support early years settings to drive continuous improvement and increase high standards in early education for children from birth to five years, in line with the Organisation’s mission to promote quality in early years for UK and international customers.

Working closely with other early years advisors, delivery partners, managers and cross teams, you will be responsible for the delivery of Champions programmes.

You will work with the private, voluntary, maintained and independent sectors, and school provision providing advice and support relating to Champions programmes that enable practitioners within nursery settings with practice improvement resulting in better outcomes for children.

About You

You will have experience of working in early years, leading practice specifically in maths language, literacy and communication as an early years professional or an early years teacher

Successful candidates will have experience of:

• Coaching and mentoring early years practitioners to support practice improvement
• Customer service or related experience
• Multi-agency partnership working
• Developing and securing strong partnerships
• Involvement with early year’s networks or groups
• Product development and review

SAVTE (the Sheffield Association for the Voluntary Teaching of English) supports people to develop English language skills to help them gain confidence and become independent, active citizens. Mental Health Support Teams are part of a national strategy implemented by the government in 2018. In Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, the MHSTs are run as a partnership between OTR and NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (AWP CAMHS). This partnership makes our MHST unique, creative, and responsive to the needs of the diverse communities we work in.

Team Coordinators will assist MHST Team Managers and Clinical Leads in the operational management of Mental Health Support Teams by providing high quality support to staff members and supporting initiatives to develop our workforce. 

Applicants will need relevant education in line with the requirements of the role, experience working with young people and the adults in their lives, and demonstrable management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team with a range of needs and skills.

What can you bring to the service...?

• As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will provide a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people.
• You will maximise educational opportunities and achievements for the young people by assisting in identifying, establishing and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
• You will also undertake direct work that is designed to meet the young person’s needs as identified within the care plan, enabling them to reach full their potential.  Supporting the young person’s significant relationships will be a part of this task.
• Under close supervision you will take responsibility for key working at least one young person.
• You will maintain accurate and up to date records of the work undertaken with the young people and complete written reports for planning meetings and statutory reviews as necessary. 
• Support young people with their individual personal care needs.  This can include full reliance upon you to change continence pads, assist with full body and hair wash, as well as dressing.   Or, encouraging them to be as independent as possible and washing/dressing themselves to progress with their skills development. 
• Undertake a range of domestic duties, including cooking and some cleaning, to a good standard, to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and the guidelines for young people and staff.

• Experience of working in a residential setting, undertaking the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects & values the young people as individuals.
• Flexibility to respond to the needs of the unit and young people.

• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.

We are excited to offer trainee positions within the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holders will work within OTR as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering brief, focused, evidence-based psychological interventions in the form of low-intensity support and guided self-help to young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience whilst also completing a Graduate or Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Therapies Practice (Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Children, Young People and Families) delivered by the University of Exeter.

The post holders will attend all university-based teaching and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed curriculum, and work within OTR services for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

What will I be doing?

As Project Officer, Physics Workforce, you’ll be part of the Education and Workforce team, supporting our mission to build a strong, diverse physics workforce for the future. Your work will help identify and address the skills needs of physics-powered sectors and highlight the vital role physics skills play in our economy.

You’ll support the delivery of projects, research and evidence-building activities that influence education, skills policy and practice, working closely colleagues across the organisation, members and other external stakeholders.

• Supporting research to map skills gaps in physics-powered industries

• Strong communication skills – written, verbal and presentation

Nice to have

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to bring struggling children hope and a future. Building on the huge success of TLG Early Intervention Coaching, TLG Therapeutic Support will be a new way for TLG, with partner churches, to provide support in school for the increasing number of pupils struggling to cope due to their emotional, relational, and mental health experiences. This programme addresses the underlying issues children are facing, whilst also providing the option of direct support to their parents/carers and the school staff team.

In this role we are looking for an individual that thrives working with children and young people in a school context and is passionate about supporting pupils and their families struggling with emotional, relational, and mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will be a qualified counsellor with an aptitude for creativity whether this is music and drama, sport and outdoor recreation or other fields of kinaesthetic development. The TLG Therapeutic Counsellor will be present each week in the school, providing specialist trauma aware care for these children, whilst supporting staff and parents/carers too, so we're looking for an individual who can build and foster strong relationships.

Schools Coordinator

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Schools Coordinator (Impact Officer) to work as the primary link between partner schools and the CYUK programme.

Join a youth social action charity challenges 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time social action. As mentors, tutors and role models in schools, they support pupils growing up in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

Position: Schools Coordinator (internal title School Impact Officer)

School locations: N1 8PQ - 2 days school based

Training location: E1 6EG - 1 day per week (with some working from home)

Hours: Part-Time, for 3 days per week (one day must be a Friday) 8:00-4:30, Monday to Friday

Salary: £18,011 (FTE £30,018 per annum)

Working schedule: Term-time working (except for the second half of August)

The Role

We have a rewarding opportunity for a School Impact Officer to train, support and develop volunteers and monitor the programme through effective administration, data management and to build a deep partnership between the school and the charity.

The Impact Officer is based predominantly in a school and is the primary link between the partner schools and the programme and is the enabler of the programme delivery.  You will support a team of volunteer mentors, who support school activities by coordinating, managing and evaluating the programme.

The Volunteer Mentors also complete a Leadership and Development programme and you will work with them on a professional development plan to chart their continuous professional development and ready them for employment.

The role is primarily a school-based post from Monday to Thursday and is based in a regional venue on most Fridays. See locations above.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about social change and serving a great cause. As the School Impact Officer, you will strive for excellence and support the core vision and values of the charity.

You will have:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong supervision skills, able to connect and communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders

· The ability to understand school leadership priorities

· Flexibility in your approach to meet volunteers and pupils developmental needs

· The ability to cope well with multiple demands and to ask for support in ambiguous situations

· Ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines delegate appropriately and apply problem-solving skills effectively

· Good IT knowledge

· A proactive attitude, with the ability to use initiative and a professional manner and approach

Whilst not essential experience of working in a school or with schools would be an advantage in this role.

Croydon Drop In (CDI) are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic practitioner to work within our award-winning Voluntary Sector services. The post-holder will work within our safeguarding protocols to provide safe interventions for Neurodivergent children, young people and families using evidence-based methodologies. The post holder will safely work with people across different cultural backgrounds and ages and will be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The post holder will use their skills to support children and young people who are referred in to or have self-referred in to the A for Autism Service. This service is a community based Pre and Post Autism Diagnostic Service. The successful candidate will receive Reflective Practice Supervision to support their professional development and ensure the safety of themselves and the people they work with, alongside Line Management Supervision.

Information about the Job Role

This full-time role will be best suited for applicants who are able to balance a busy work schedule being both office based and community based, working mainly with 16 – 25 year old children, young people and their families, and delivering workshops and one to one support in a range of community based settings, and at CDI sites. Applicants must be willing to travel around Croydon as the service is community based. Occasional travel outside of Croydon may also arise to best meet the needs of those accessing the service. This role will include session, activity and resources design and delivery.
