The Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Head of Transactional Finance as a pivotal leadership role that oversees payroll, accounts payable, and finance systems. It has a strong relationship to accounts receivable in an adjacent team. It’s a unique opportunity to lead a function through significant change.

You’ll be instrumental in driving automation, improving processes, and ensuring seamless integration between finance systems (UNIT4) and wider business platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics. • Driving automation and process improvement across transactional finance

The Person

• A recognised finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• A track record of managing or supporting finance system implementations and integrations (experience with UNIT4 is essential)

• The ability to shape and position transactional finance as a partner to teams such as financial accounting and FP&A

Purpose of Post

The Community Outreach Worker (Complex Needs Housing Service) provides advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. They ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly, they remain a source of independent support for all clients and they will embed a person centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach in all aspects of the role.

About the Service

The Complex Needs Housing Service works as a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.

Service Objectives

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health with positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) consisting of Change Grow Live (CGL), District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

The role also works in local community settings and with community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops and make sure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their story, give their opinions and participate in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.

About you

· You are able to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities, including people with lived experience of homelessness.

· You will have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to progress to specialist level knowledge.

Militaries are major contributors to the climate crisis but it remains unclear how large their greenhouse gas emissions are because reporting under domestic and international frameworks is often voluntary or incomplete.

Since 2021, CEOBS and our international network of academic and civil society partners have played an important role in drawing attention to this data gap. Our Military Emissions Gap project works to communicate the scale of the reporting gap, to mainstream the topic in climate and military spaces, and to help create the conditions whereby the emissions from military activities and armed conflicts are properly documented and understood. We work with a wide range of stakeholders, from militaries, academia and the media, to policy makers and peace groups.

Research is vital to the project, underpinning all of our advocacy and awareness-raising activities and, thanks to recent grant funding we are now in a position to create a dedicated post for the project.

The role

You will work with our Climate Advocacy Coordinator, Director and academic partners to produce and contribute to unique research on military and conflict emissions, military-related climate impacts, and comparative studies on civil mitigation and decarbonisation strategies. The position is an excellent opportunity for an inquisitive, creative and conscientious environmental professional, with sound climate literacy and experience in carbon accounting, environmental reporting standards, and ESG policies and performance.

• Monitoring the rapidly evolving landscape of military climate mitigation strategies and reporting.

• Keeping up-to-date with emerging good practice on carbon and environmental reporting standards.

Essential requirements

About the charity

Living in the North West, we're 25% more likely to be diagnosed with cancer than elsewhere in the UK and many cancers are much more common across the region. Community fundraising is an important vehicle to challenge this - by raising money and awareness.

Recent fundable projects include a groundbreaking annual Regional Report on cancer and the innovative Lab-Coat Learning education programme for the region's schools.

You are able to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including people with lived experience of homelessness. About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent (desirable)
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching

• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Gan weithio fel rhan o dîm aml-asiantaeth, byddwch yn darparu cymorth sydd wedi’i ganolbwyntio ar yr unigolyn i lwyth achosion o ddefnyddwyr gwasanaeth a fydd naill ai'n cyflawni dedfrydau cymunedol neu'n cael eu rhyddhau o'r carchar.  Byddwch yn ymgymryd â chynllunio asesu a gweithredu gyda defnyddwyr gwasanaethau unigol, yn creu amgylchedd diogel ac ymddiriedus, gan ddefnyddio ymarfer trawma-gwybodus i hwyluso perthynas gefnogol ac adeiladol gyda defnyddwyr gwasanaeth, ynghyd â darparu ystod o ymyriadau i ddefnyddwyr gwasanaethau sy'n cyfrannu tuag at gyflawni canlyniadau rhagnodedig.

Byddwch hefyd yn datblygu a chynnal perthnasoedd gweithio cadarnhaol gydag asiantaethau allanol, gan gynnwys y gwasanaeth prawf, carchardai, partneriaid, ac eraill a fydd yn cynorthwyo i sicrhau canlyniadau rhagnodedig i ddefnyddwyr gwasanaethau, gan sicrhau eich bod yn gweithio tuag at dargedau a chanlyniadau cytundebol o fewn amserlenni y cytunwyd arnynt.  Mae defnyddio cronfeydd data CRM y cytunwyd arnynt a chofnodi'r holl weithgaredd sy'n ymwneud â llwyth gwaith a darparu diweddariadau ac adroddiadau hefyd yn ddyletswyddau allweddol.

• Profiad o weithio gydag asiantaethau partner naill ai fel rhan o dîm aml-asiantaeth sy'n gweithio tuag at amcanion cyffredin neu o negydu gyda’r nod o sefydlu cysylltiadau i hyrwyddo nodau prosiect
• L3 mewn Cyngor ac Arweiniad neu gyfatebol
• Y gallu i asesu anghenion cleientiaid a darparu cymorth wedi'i deilwra a arweinir gan gleientiaid drwy gynllunio gweithredu ac ymyriadau sy'n cynnwys cyngor, arweiniad, eiriolaeth a hyfforddi
• Y gallu i weithio mewn dull sensitif gyda chleientiaid gan ddefnyddio strategaethau sail-trawma
• Sgiliau TG, meithrin-perthynas a chyfathrebu nodedig, ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig

Yn gyfnewid am hyn, gallwch ddisgwyl cyflog cystadleuol, lwfans gwyliau hael, pensiwn staff, gweithio hyblyg, rhaglen fentora, gwasanaeth cynghori a chwnsela, talebau gofal plant, benthyciad tocyn tymor a llawer mwy.
