Responsibilities of our Digital Learning Specialist:

• Take overall responsibility for the design, development and delivery of Digital Learning in Cats Protection
• Working with colleagues across the charity, you will lead the development of bespoke Digital Learning programmes to meet the needs of volunteers and employees
• Support the Head of Organisational Learning and People Development in meeting the Learning and Development (L&D) management information needs of the charity and in demonstrating return on investment of L&D activity

About the Digital Learning team:

The Digital Learning team is one of three internal learning teams that work together to deliver organisational capability. Led by the Digital Learning Specialist this team works with stakeholders across the organisation to meet their needs. Core aspects of their work include:

• Manage the development and maintenance of our Learner Management System (LMS) ensuring it is fit for purpose and providing support for the wider L&D team and learners.
• Develop data analysis to help L&D to understand leaners’ needs and experiences.
• Create high-quality e-learning using established development processes and working with subject matter experts from across the organisation.

About Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Manager to join our Care Team at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or whose child has died. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

Our Care Events Team provide an extensive programme of groups and events for the 800 life-limited children, their families and bereaved families. There are themed family events, social groups for siblings of different ages, pamper days for mums, counselling groups, bereavement café, memorial days and many festive events such as ice-skating at Hampton Court. Taking place at our hospices and in the communities we serve, there are 5-6 events each week, offering important opportunities for families to make memories together.

About the role

The Care Events Manager is responsible for the delivery and oversight of the annual programme of events. The Care Event Manager leads the Care Events Team, including an Events Assistant, Events Management Intern, Counsellor and care events volunteers, and working with family support workers, children’s therapists and counsellors to deliver an incredible programme of creative and inclusive experiences. The Care Events Manager works alongside the Lead Therapist and Lead Counsellor to ensure that family support at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is everything the children and families need it to be.

At a weekly meeting, the team are made aware of children and family members who are struggling and think together about where they might benefit from the opportunity to spend time with others who share similar experiences or receive group therapy. Utilising professional events management skills, each event is planned meticulously to be a safe and inviting space. Providing this opportunity for families is integral to their mental wellbeing.

About you

This role requires an individual with professional events management experience, with a proven track record of executing high-profile and bespoke events. The individual should have skills in marketing, events administration and able to create events for families from diverse backgrounds. Excellent project management skills are required to keep the fast-paced programme on track, alongside diligence in health and safety. Leadership and management expertise enable the team to thrive, so that we can provide outstanding support to families. The Care Events Manager should be a compassionate and caring individual, sensitive to the needs of families at Shooting Star, with the emotional resilience to work with families who are experiencing grief and trauma. This is a unique opportunity for an events manager to utilise their skillset to make a huge difference to the families that we support.

Once or twice a month the Care Events Manager is expected to work on a Saturday or Sunday (time is given back during the week).

1. Introduction

The Parish of St Mary’s and St James, located in NW6, London, is seeking to appoint an experienced fundraising professional to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy and bid-writing template to support essential large scale capital repair projects at both church buildings.

The appointed consultant will produce a clear, actionable, and sustainable fundraising plan that draws on multiple funding streams — including grants, partnerships, individual giving, digital fundraising, and community events — while ensuring both projects progress cohesively and without internal competition for resources.

2. Project Background

The parish comprises two Grade II listed churches, both of which are active places of worship and important community landmarks within West Hampstead and South Hampstead.

St Mary’s Church

St Mary’s is a Grade II listed building, constructed in 1856-1862, and currently listed on the Historic England “At Risk” Register. The church requires urgent repair works to its spire, estimated at £1.5 million, alongside further essential maintenance identified in the quinquennial inspection. As a historic and much-loved building, St Mary’s preservation is a key priority for the parish and local community.

St James Church

Built in 1887–8 and designed by A.W. Blomfield, St James Church is also Grade II listed. The large red-brick structure, with steeply pitched tiled roofs and Bath stone dressings, is a notable local landmark and the only listed building within the South Hampstead Conservation Area. Camden Council’s Conservation Area Appraisal describes it as “a very important part of the quality and character of the area.”

St James is recognised nationally as a model of how historic churches can be adapted for sustainable use. Reopened in 2014 as The Sherriff Centre, it combines traditional worship with a thriving community and social enterprise hub — including a Post Office, soft play centre, café, retail space, and event venue.

St James now faces essential capital repairs to its roof, guttering, and masonry, as identified by its quinquennial inspection.

Fundraising Objective

Although St Mary’s and St James are distinct buildings, the parish seeks a single, unified fundraising strategy that will enable both capital projects to move forward in tandem, sharing messaging and timelines to avoid competition for funding opportunities.

3. Scope of Work

The consultant will produce a detailed and actionable fundraising strategy and a skeleton bid-writing template to support the parish in delivering its capital repair objectives.

A. Fundraising Strategy

The strategy should cover five core fundraising areas, each with specific recommendations, timelines, and success measures:

1. Grant Applications to Trusts and Foundations
   • Identification of suitable capital funders, including National Lottery Heritage programmes and major charitable trusts.
2. Corporate Partnerships
   • Identification of potential local business partners with corporate social responsibility programmes.
3. Individual Giving
   • Recommendations for regular giving schemes, major donor cultivation, and legacy giving programmes.
4. Digital Fundraising
   • Plans for social media campaigns, crowdfunding, and email marketing.
   • Recommendations for digital platforms, messaging, and performance tracking.
5. Community Fundraising Events
   • Framework for community-focused events to engage local audiences and raise funds.

B. Skeleton Bid Template

An editable bid-writing template will be created to assist the parish with future applications. This will include:

• Core content sections (e.g., project summary, need, impact, budget, sustainability).
• Example text and guidance notes.
• Style and structure recommendations for clarity and professionalism.

4. Deliverables

• Comprehensive Fundraising Strategy Document covering both churches.
• Action Plan with timelines and priority recommendations.
• Skeleton Bid Template

5. Experience and Expertise

The appointed consultant should demonstrate:

• Proven success in fundraising for capital projects involving heritage buildings, ideally churches or places of worship.
• Experience in heritage and conservation funding, including the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
• Demonstrable ability to develop multi-strand fundraising strategies integrating grants, individuals, corporate, and community income.

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join their team in London or Brussels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution in a newly created role.   

As Finance Business Partner will help ensure that the financial processes and procedures of the Clean Air Fund run smoothly, efficiently and effectively, for the project and ensures enabling support to our project team members to be effective.

You will provide support across both the CAF’s Finance and project team and will take a business partnering approach in helping provide a robust financial service, particularly to our Programmes team (primarily in the EU) and our grantees (pan-EU and in nine EU Member States) to ensure new and existing grants are well managed and implemented. Our residentials are fun, immersive, tiring (in all the right ways), impactful and inspiring. A core aspect of all Free to Be Kids staff's roles is leading circa 8-10 of our residential projects across each year - working on the ground with the children, leading the volunteers & staff team on project, and helping make the projects special, safe, and transformative for vulnerable young people, many of whom have damaged confidence, low self-worth, or other social-emotional needs. 

Attendance at approximately 8-10 five-six night residential projects per year outside London is a core component of this role. As a manager, you'd likely attend 8-10 residentials in year 1 to build familiarity with both the projects and our volunteer base, with this dropping to c.8 per year thereafter.

On offer to the right candidate:

Salary: Circa £38,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience.

Hours: Fulltime: 37.5 hours per week. Essential attendance on at c.8-10 residential projects a year.

Leave: 25 days per year, plus bank holidays and up to 13 additional pre-set discretionary reward days in September and during the Christmas period. A substantial perk of the role is potential to take up to 4 consecutive weeks off to travel each September.

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential and bring experience in coordinating youth programmes in partnership with key stakeholders such as schools, military, corporate and educational stakeholders.

The role will be responsible for maintaining and creating new relationships with school staff, local partners (including military, corporate and educational organisations) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people. Working closely with the Area Director South, the post holder will be forward thinking and help to grow JET’s presence locally through identifying new opportunities within Hampshire and Dorset. 

The post holder will be based from home, with a requirement to travel to schools and partner sites within Dorset and Hampshire (predominantly between Weymouth and Odiham). Fuel expenses are paid, and travel time is included as part of your working hours. Core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school term time only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that meetings with partners and colleagues, plus administrative tasks, are completed as required. You will be expected to work at least four days a week.

What you'll do:

• Oversee all induction and mandatory training, ensuring it meets organisational requirements
• Ensure induction material is up-to-date and engaging
• Ensure all training offered is innovative and engaging and uses technology where possible
• Host the first day of the induction programme 'Feel at Home'
• Deliver ad-hoc training as required

With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage direct marketing campaigns in the form of seasonal appeals, email updates, and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently review KPIs and make evidence-based choices to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Direct Marketing Executive who has excellent knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment is vital, you’ll also be able to demonstrate your knowledge and/or experience of stewarding donors by understanding the importance of meeting their needs.

You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marketing and fundraising law would be advantageous as well as philanthropy experience.
