Location: Home based with frequent travel to projects in Hucknall, Broxtowe-Aspley, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield and soon to be opening in Leicester in 2024.​​

As Regional Manager you will represent, manage and co-ordinate FoodCycle meals for your allocated regional Projects. Our Projects are spaces where volunteers are empowered to run their own community meals using surplus food. You will manage local relationships with venues, community partners, supermarkets and volunteer recruitment channels to enable this to happen. You will continually be looking to increase our impact by working towards targets of increased meals served to our guests, expanding our existing Projects and setting up new ones within East Midlands.​

An excellent communicator, you will manage the volunteers at each Project ensuring they are trained, supported and on-message with FoodCycle strategy. You will have experience of recruiting and managing volunteers, as well as programme development and delivery.​

This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, to support with delivery as necessary, which will include evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.​

Benefits: We offer 26.5 working days (this includes 3.5 days for the Christmas close down) plus additional holiday for length of service, up to a maximum of 30 days (pro-rata for part-time). As our Programme Lead, you’ll deliver a cyber security programme that will improve BHF’s information security, raise its awareness internally, and protect its assets. About you

With a deep understanding of project and programme processes for a similar sized organisation, you’ll be an accredited Practitioner in industry standard qualifications (e.g. Prince2, MoP, MSP, Agile) and will have knowledge of cyber security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).

You’ll have previous experience in senior roles within a Technology team of 20+  as part of an organisation that turns over at least £50 million. You also have experience in a leadership role overseeing major change initiatives and working with other team leaders to matrix-manage teams across numerous roles, such as business analysts, technical engineers, developers, and testers.

Able to take a strategic approach to Technology, you’ll have a deep understanding of the partnering role Technology plays in a modern organisation.

About the role

Smart Works exists to empower all women who need help getting into work. We are currently in a significant growth phase, doubling the number of women we support to 10,000 women a year by 2025. As such, we require vital cornerstone funding and are seeking to establish a Major Gifts function, to secure donations from high-net worth individuals, that will enable us to achieve our mission and help thousands of women to transform their lives.

This is an exciting new role that provides an opportunity to build a new major gifts programme from scratch. Supported by the Director of Partnerships, you will work closely with the CEO, Board, and our network of 750 volunteers, to develop a giving strategy that will engage and grow a new pool of crucial supporters for Smart Works.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing major donors, as well as conducting prospect research, developing bespoke stewardship materials, and securing five-figure and six-figure repeat gifts.

We seek an excellent communicator, with significant experience in influencing, negotiating and exceeding set targets. Creativity, an understanding of women’s fashion, and knowledge of wealth circles would also be advantageous.

The Fundraising and Partnerships team are based in London. This is a hybrid role, working from a London centre at least twice per week, with the opportunity to work across our North, West and South London centres. Some evening and weekend work is required to lead on philanthropic fundraising and support wider partnership team events.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, the successful candidate will:

• Lead the development and delivery of a giving programme, building a pipeline and carrying out proactive prospect research
• Secure five-figure and six-figure multi-year gifts from major donors, to exceed income targets
• Research and identify prospective major donors who could support Smart Works, through existing warm networks and via outreach to cold audiences
• Work collaboratively across teams and functions to produce creative and compelling propositions and materials to secure both core and restricted funding
• Represent Smart Works to a diverse range of stakeholders and audiences to generate income and raise brand awareness
• Develop cultivation events considering regional hotspots
• Acknowledge, thank and recognize donors appropriate to their level of support and ensure restricted gifts are appropriately allocated
• Manage donor database and reporting
• Support Smart Works’ local centres across the UK and share learnings and guidance to help others build their Major Gifts potential

Skills, knowledge and personal attributes

Essential Criteria

• A track record of cultivating strong and positive relationships with multiple, senior and high-net worth individuals
• Demonstrable experience of making the ask, and an ability to support senior staff, volunteers and trustees to do so
• Interpersonal verbal communication and presentation skills, in order to foster strong relationships with donors and networks alike
• Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
• Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals and reports, adapting the communication style for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise impact
• Proactive, ambitious team player, able to work from own initiative

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Coordination 

• Act as the first point of contact for Tour Managers, Agents and Artists, fielding initial production queries and questions about the venue, schedule etc. 

• Support the Director, Music Programmer and Technical team in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships and clear communication channels with artists, partners, promoters, producers and other ICA departments.

• Be responsible for coordinating and communicating all pre-production and delivery requirements with in-house departments including Finance, Operations and Visitor Services, Technical, Marketing and Communications. Including, but not limited to, FOH staffing requirements, Technician requirements, Security and Cleaners. 

• Work with the Technical Manager on technical and staging requirements of each event to ensure that rider specifics can be achieved within agreed budgetary parameters. Meet regularly with Technical Manager to ensure good channels of comms with tech team. 

• Undertake planning and administration for own promotions, including booking hotels and travel in liaison with the artists and providing necessary transport as per contractual agreement. 

• Complete Certificates of Sponsorship or Letters of Invitation for all non-EEA artists (as required) and supply info to artists who wish to apply for FEU tax exemptions/reductions as necessary. 

• Order riders and booking event catering within agreed budgets, as required. 

• In the instance the event is live streamed, ensure that we secure the relevant rights for broadcast.

• Liaise with programmers, promoters and internal departments to make the necessary arrangements for performance by high profile artists. 

• Create Function Sheets, used to brief other internal teams, for every event. 

• Coordinate and communicate event timings with the ICA Bar team, including requests for late closes and early opening. 

Contracts and Budgets 

• Issue approved and signed off contracts from the Music Programmer based on deal memos agreed and provided by the Music Programmer and ensure that these are confirmed, communicated, and understood by relevant parties before events are put on sale. 

• Work closely with the Music Programmer to track budgets (which will be initially set by the Music Programmer) and report final figures after each event. 

• Annual reporting of ticket income to PRS 

• Reconcile budgets, manage post-concert settlements and ensure invoices are paid following all live events, feeding final budget figures back to the Music Programmer. 

Ticket On-Sale Process

• Monitor box office sales during pre-production and provide final settlements to the Music Programmer and external promoters as required. 

• Provide information and communicate arrangements for the sale of merchandise, programmes and any other ancillary commercial activity in conjunction with the Bookshop Manager. 

Event Delivery 

• Attend and manage on-the-day event delivery for approximately 2 shows a week (a rough estimate, although may increase or decrease at different times of the year). 

• Work with the Executive Producer to produce monthly rotas for Event Supervisors to cover attendance of live events. 

• When allocated and agreed with the Music Programmer, to attend and oversee rehearsals, soundchecks and performances in the ICA Theatre, acting as the first point of contact on behalf of the ICA.

• Any other appropriate duties as required by the Director and Head of Artistic Programmes. This may include occasional event management of dance and live performance projects.

The Digital Transformation Manager leads THET’s efforts to transform our own programmes of work and the way THET  operates, and also that of the Health Partnership community to better incorporate and enable best practice in digital solutions. The Digital Transformation Manager will work with teams across the organisation to consider how in every aspect of THET’s work we can transform our use of technology to achieve greater efficiencies and effectiveness, improve inclusivity and equity, and whilst reducing our carbon footprint. Digital Transformation is a key enabler for the organisation to help advance access to health services in low-and-middle-income countries, via activities such as building online communities, online learning for health workforces in complex and humanitarian settings, e-health, amongst others. This role will require engagement across the different departments of THET including programmes, and research, evidence and learning, and external engagement, as well as engaging with external stakeholders to drive and raise visibility of this agenda.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy

• Lead the review and delivery of THET’s digital transformation strategy. 

• Lead and implement THET’s digital enablers to support the organisation’s strategic plan.

Product management

• Develop and enhance the user experience of both external and internal stakeholders across key digital products including the THET website, Pulse platform, learning platforms and bespoke applications.

• Conduct user research and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a long-term strategy across our digital portfolio.

Stakeholder and project management

 • Provide guidance and capacity development to both THET staff and the Health Partnership community on digital implementations and best practice

• Ensure THET has accurate data and analytics to support operations and programmes across THET.

• Project manage key digital projects including scoping, testing, implementation, and review.

• Engage with external experts to promote and drive THET’s digital agenda across the global health sector.

• Lead and develop THET’s digital reporting mechanism to track the success of digital implementation across programmes.

• Lead a Digital Transformation Working Group to support digital transformation across THET and the wider HP community. 

External representation and publicization

• Representation at key THET and external events raising visibility of digital working within health partnerships and across the health partnership community.

• Working with THET external engagement and research evidence and learning teams to deliver communisations and policy documents on digital transformation.

Fundraising and digital transformation project design

• Lead fundraising for digital transformation at THET, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.

• Support colleagues in integrating digital transformation across project proposals.

• Reporting back to donors to demonstrate the value of THET’s digital interventions.

Operations

• Manage third party providers including vendors and Managed Service Providers, ensuring compliance with SLA’s.

• Working with the Chief Operating Officer, ensure THET has adequate and appropriate IT infrastructure and cybersecurity processes in support with IT MSP

• Support the implementation of GDPR practices across THET in line with regulation and best practice. 

Line Management

• Line manages the Digital Transformation Officer.

• Mentor and coach other team members as required

This job is remote with occassional travel to London and upto 4weeks per year international travel.
