We have an exciting opportunity for an empathetic and caring individual to join the Patients’ Representative Service working across both Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital, supporting older and vulnerable people.

Do you have the skills to represent, advocate and support people and their families, enabling them to make informed decisions around a wide variety of issues? Exciting opportunity for an ambitious person to make a real difference for nature!

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and organised person to lead on the conservation grazing across our nature reserves in Gloucestershire.

The role will require managing our native-breed cattle, ponies and sheep to provide the best outcomes for habitats and wildlife while ensuring an excellent standard of animal welfare.
The trust currently owns a small herd of Highland cattle and Exmoor ponies, in addition to a small flock of primitive sheep.

There is potential to expand grazing operations to increase our delivery of natural process led solutions. The successful candidate will be joining the Nature Recovery Zone team as the trust looks to take on additional land that will require management through grazing.

WHO WE ARE

Animal Equality is an international animal protection organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.

Animal Equality releases investigative materials captured from inside factory farms and slaughterhouses, exposing the conditions that farmed animals face around the world. We publish our findings on television, in newspapers and online. Farmed animals also often suffer in some of the worst ways: pigs typically endure painful mutilations, many chickens die of heart attacks, fish are confined in underwater cages, and some farmed animals are victims of deliberate abuse and neglect. By utilising effective campaigning strategies, Animal Equality is having an impact for animals around the world and building a future where all animals are respected and protected, and are no longer exploited for human consumption.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and solutions-oriented Marketing Manager to lead the optimisation of our supporter engagement systems and data-driven marketing operations in the UK.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering seamless, personalised experiences for our supporters. Line-managing the UK Marketing and Communications team members, the Marketing Manager will streamline and coordinate Animal Equality’s public communications, ensuring they are streamlined, impactful, and evidence-based.

By maintaining data integrity, strengthening reporting, and driving robust monitoring and evaluation, you will empower colleagues across departments to make data-informed decisions, deepen supporter relationships, and increase fundraising income to advance our mission for farmed animals.

The Marketing Manager will play an essential role in optimising Animal Equality’s CRM platforms (with a focus on Salesforce and related tools), ensuring they are efficient, intuitive to use, and designed with our supporters’ experiences in mind.

The Marketing Manager will report to the UK Executive Director and collaborate extensively with colleagues in Campaigns, Communications, Technology, Operations, and Marketing across our global offices.

In addition to monthly meet-ups, some travel within the UK may be required for demonstrations, meetings, and events. While not common, occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support campaigning activities. Any additional hours worked and agreed with your Manager can be reclaimed as TOIL.

ABOUT YOU

You are a strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise, equally comfortable designing supporter journeys as you are cleaning up data or analysing objectives. You thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, combining attention to detail with a solutions-focused mindset.

A track record of understanding and evaluating direct marketing and digital advocacy campaigns, skilled in M&E, and strong copywriting skills. You must have hands-on experience managing team members and supporting their professional growth. Experience in marketing automation, and familiarity with GDPR best practice, is desirable.

Your mission

We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Head of Communications who will be responsible for the global communication strategy and ensure that key stakeholders, such as (institutional) fundraisers and marketing and communication teams in our fundraising markets have the necessary inspiring content, assets and information about our programmes. You will lead the War Child Alliance Foundation’s communications team and will also ensure there is an outstanding communications and marketing platform for our critical programmes, advocacy and scaling work. You will  plan for and support the War Child Alliance internal communications processes to foster information sharing and support our People and Culture and Leadership teams.

Team

The War Child Alliance Communications team is responsible for the brand and the reputation on a global level for War Child, as well as overseeing all global and corporate communications and supporting the communications requirements of the War Child Alliance Foundation directorates. In tandem, the team also offers a robust service provision to our fundraising member network, supplying them with content, information and assets to support their communications and marketing outputs, and supports our internal communications processes across the Alliance.

What you will do: 

You will report directly to the CEO of the War Child Alliance. Your key stakeholders will be those that are leading our programmes, scaling and advocacy work, global grants managers, research and development teams and the Fundraising and communications professionals operating in our fundraising markets. You'll lead, motivate and inspire a hugely talented team to innovate and adopt new ways of working in order to deliver our global communications.

 
You will be responsible for: 

• Implementing the War Child Alliance Foundation’s communications and marketing strategy, linked to the Alliance strategy and goals, managing risks and barriers and overcoming these
• Designing and running processes with colleagues across the Alliance to coordinate comms approaches which work effectively for all Alliance members and offices. 
• Managing (in some cases, developing) in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, communication guidelines and policies, content calendar, campaigning frameworks and other marketing and comm’s tools and standard operating processes that enable strategy implementation.
• Overseeing the creation of creative and inspiring content about country and global programmes, research results and scaling efforts, our advocacy work and campaigns that help to raise brand visibility and engage new supporters and donors

Your profile

Core Purpose
The Communications Lead plays a pivotal role in delivering Make-A-Wish UK’s mission by leading the planning, coordination and execution of impactful communications across internal and external channels.

Acting as the communications lead across every day operations, this role ensures alignment, clarity, and consistency across the organisation’s communications outputs, storytelling and messaging. It provides strategic and operational leadership to specialist communications managers and supports the delivery of high-quality campaigns, partnership communications, and internal engagement activity.

Key Responsibilities 
Communication leadership & coordination

Women Asylum Seekers Together (WAST) is a grassroots Manchester-based charity led by and for women who are seeking asylum and currently has around 170 members. WAST was founded in 2005 by one of WAST’s current board members, whilst fighting her own anti-deportation campaign, and became a constituted charity in 2014.

We provide a safe, supportive space where women can come together to build community, gain confidence, access peer support, and advocate for their rights. Women are at the sharp end of the ‘hostile environment’ with punitive government immigration policies and practice. WAST enables a process of empowerment through which women gain the confidence and strength to voice their experience and campaign for justice.

WAST is a place of hope and belonging with its core values of compassion, respect, inclusion and empowerment and its continuous development of its trauma informed peer support approach. WAST has been at the forefront of national campaigning against detention, has published three books and created two plays, giving voice to women’s experiences.

WAST runs weekly skill-building and wellbeing activities, a weekly drop-in session where women can access signposting and referrals to services, and a variety of external events throughout the year. Activities are identified and led by the WAST Management Group, elected by the membership and supported by WAST staff. WAST’s current priorities, as identified by the management group, include developing asylum information workshops, a range of wellbeing trauma informed activities, and advancing the campaign group.
