We’re looking for an experienced Evaluation Manager to join our team of researchers and analysts to deliver and develop our evaluation projects, to help build an evidence-base for engineering and technology outreach activities and shape how we use this evidence to inform our own and others’ practice.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in designing, implementing and reporting on process and impact programme evaluations – most of which focus on young people - utilising quantitative and qualitative methodologies, conducting evidence reviews, and working collaboratively with key stakeholders. You’ll work with colleagues to embed learnings and develop advice and guidance to support the engineering outreach activity more widely.

About the role

At EngineeringUK we use evidence to make a real difference. Through research insight and robust evaluation, we work to improve the impact of our own work, as well as that of other organisations in our sector. Our aim is to make a positive difference to young people’s lives and securing the diverse engineering and technology workforce the UK needs to thrive. The research and evaluation team consists of 6 researchers and analysts who work to provide these insights.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver and develop our evaluation projects, to help build an evidence-base for engineering and technology outreach activities and to shape how we use this evidence to inform our own and others’ practice.

With support from the Head of Evaluation and Impact, you will be the operational lead on our evaluations, with responsibility for:

• critically assessing the evidence required to ascertain impact of engineering and technology outreach activities across a complex landscape, with an emphasis on groups historically underrepresented in the engineering and technology professions
• designing and managing the evaluation of our educational programmes, including the practicalities and logistics of collecting/analysing these data, and reporting findings to internal and external stakeholders
• working with colleagues to embed learning from evaluation findings into our future activities and the wider evidence base on the impact of engineering outreach activity
• developing advice and guidance on evaluation and impact measurement to support the engineering outreach community to evaluate their activity more robustly.
   

This job would ideally suit an experienced monitoring and evaluation professional interested in evaluating education programmes with a focus on increasing opportunities for young people from underrepresented groups.
 

We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames and may involve some travel in the UK for evaluation fieldwork. • Knowledge of and experience in using evaluation techniques/practices, ideally with familiarity of education outreach programmes
• Ability to design and use quantitative and qualitative data collection tools and analyse these data using widely used analysis software (for example, SPSS, STATA, R, CAQDAS)
• Experience in undertaking literature searches and reviews, identifying relevant evidence, appraising its quality, and summarising the body of existing work
• Excellent time and project management skills, with experience working on multiple projects at once, adapting to changing priorities, and meeting hard deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to lead evaluation projects independently, from conception to dissemination
• Proactive in identifying evaluation opportunities and driving projects forward

1. Overall strategic development and management of the Community Hub Programme

Manage and develop the Community Hub providing activities, personal development opportunities and information for refugees and people seeking asylum.

Line manage ESOL Coordinator with supervision and appraisals supporting their CPD

Work with the ESOL Coordinator and volunteers to develop activities and client engagement within the project.

Plan and ensure delivery of short courses, workshops and events either in house or facilitated by partners.  Promote local activity and encourage client participation in line with the requirements of the Big Lottery funding.

Summary

The Education and Growing Faith department is looking to hire a Senior Programme Officer to support the church schools and the wider education sector. Working in the Operations Team, you'll be directly supporting the Head of Operations with project work and the wider NSE with system and process support. The role will offer the post-holder the opportunity to work across a range of areas such as communications, HR, grant management, reporting and governance. There will be a mix of longer strategic project work, and shorter task-based work.

The National Society for Education (NSE) is both an NCI and a Royal-charter charity. It's aims are to support Church schools and the wider education sector by developing leaders, shaping policy and growing faith.

The NSE leads the Church of England's national work in education in partnership with 41 Diocesan Boards of Education and approximately 4,700 Church of England schools. We also support the national education work of the Church in Wales, which includes around 150 schools. Our presence extends to work with community schools and academy trusts, as well as higher and further education through numerous chaplaincies, providing spiritual support and guidance to children and young people, and to adults.

We are a dynamic team, working remotely from our homes around the country. We gather regularly online, and fairly regularly in person.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. Our mission is to find what works and build a movement to put it into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of policing. We need to inspire and connect with police forces across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

Key Responsibilities Include:

We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around policing to reduce violence, with new Practice Guidance and implementation resources on diversion and focused deterrence. But the big risk is that we publish guidance and nothing changes. That’s where you come in. Your role is to work out the best way to make this change happen by getting more senior leaders within policing to use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making. This will involve:

• Developing great relationships with senior leaders and frontline police officers, generating a strong understanding of key policing issues, needs and behaviours, and building credibility and trust with the sector. 
• Developing, managing and tracking the change plan to get more senior leaders to be aware of and use our Guidance, tools and resources, continuously looking for data-driven improvements.
• Creating practical tools and resources that help leaders put evidence into action.
• Supporting police forces, violence reduction units, and police and crime commissioners to develop or strengthen evidence-based practices, including focused deterrence, hotspots policing, and problem-orientated policing.
• Overseeing our partnership with the Society for Evidence Based Policing, helping us to collectively achieve our shared aims to promote evidence-base practice across the sector.
• Working out other effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then making those things happen, from putting on a brilliant conference to regular virtual learning events and presentations.

The Historic Dockyard Chatham is seeking a skilled and motivated Visitor Operations Manager to oversee the daily delivery of visitor-facing services across our historic site. This role is central to ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for all visitors, while supporting the operational and commercial goals of the organisation.

You will lead the Visitor Experience Crew, managing performance, supporting wellbeing, and ensuring excellent customer service at every touchpoint, from front-of-house to galleries, historic ships, and events. Area Managers at CAVA

Area Managers work as part of the Senior Management Team and are key ambassadors for the organisation and the wider VCFSE.
