About the role:

This role is home working based with travel in the areas close to the successful applicant. .

As a Homicide Service Children's and Young People caseworker you will be:

• Delivering a specialist service to children and young people (CYP) bereaved by homicide, and for those CYP who have witnessed a homicide.
• Working collaboratively and jointly within the Homicide Service and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs and ensure that young people are central to all processes that involve them.
• Acting as the designated caseworker and managing a caseload
• Implementing the CYP Homicide Service Delivery Model
• Work closely and support colleagues to provide a trauma informed service to children and young people.

You will be responsible for providing a high-quality, front-line service to bereaved young people following murder or manslaughter. Working with colleagues in the National Homicide Service, as well as partner agencies including education, police, courts, social services and many other statutory and third sector organisations.

You will need to be able to travel to face to face sessions within, and occasionally outside of region. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

The Fundraising and Business Development Team Administrator will form part of a five-strong team led by our Head of Fundraising and Business Development. Responsibilities:

As part of a small team, you will need to take responsibility for identifying where your support is most needed through busy times, juggling different priorities to work effectively and efficiently, often under your own steam.
Key responsibilities are:
Corporate Fundraising

• Support corporate fundraising by completing due diligences on potential partners (you will be trained how to do this), organising corporate visits, volunteering days, supporting corporate fundraising events, keeping corporate partners up to date with our news etc and organising meetings.

Trusts and Foundations

• Support trusts and foundations fundraising by supporting on funder research (again you will be fully trained how to do this) and contributing to a constant pipeline of potential funders for the team to approach.
• Helping to manage the schedule for, and possibly writing and/or submitting basic proposals to trusts and foundations.

Events

•  Support the team by recording and sending fundraising materials to those raising money for us through events and challenge event.
•  Helping to develop, organise and deliver events.

Individual Giving

• Supporting our Individual Giving programme from an administrative point of view, including sending out pre-written emails to our supporters etc and ensuring first-class stewardship.
• Using our fundraising platform Enthuse to produce reports to support the team (and finance) with relevant information and insights.
• To ensure all donations are processed and on the fundraising tracker correctly, supporter records are kept up to date and supporters are thanked in a timely manner.

General

• To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries that come in by telephone, email, and post.
• Supporting other activities in the fundraising team when needed, sending out materials to fundraisers and supporting logistics, diary management and support the organisation and delivery of meetings and events when needed.
• Attend meetings and take concise and accurate minutes.
• Support the Head of Fundraising and Business Development to produce trackers and spreadsheets which help to measure the team’s performance and results. This includes ensuring income is allocated correct from third party platforms and working closely with the Finance Team to ensure that we can report fundraising results and forecast accurately and in a timely way.
• Support with stock control and ordering for our material assistance project, LifeSupply which also forms part of the department.
• Support all income generation activity with the collation of information from other departments, external organisations or though research.
• Other general fundraising and administration duties, as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the department including assisting in other team projects when they arise. 
• Undertake other tasks and duties as may be reasonable which will contribute to the overall success of the Fundraising and Business Development team or the charity’s business objectives.

IBIS House MH Step Down & Crisis

Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, IBIS House supports people who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient stays but have other barriers to discharge. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centred basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need, and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be expected to undertake some duties as part of the management team which may include supporting the team with their responsibilities whilst working flexibly to respond to the needs of your own customer case load. This role will require either an extra dimension of experience or have/be working towards a higher qualification level in order to meet the role specific competencies for this position.

Shifts will be on a rota pattern and include morning shifts (08:00-16:00) and afternoon shifts (14:00-22:00).

Includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

About the Service

The overall aim of the service is to increase survivor safety over time and to reduce incidents of domestic abuse through awareness raising and filling gaps in service provision, to reduce and remove harm for victim/survivors. The Floating Support Worker (FSW) supports victim/survivors of domestic abuse living in safe accommodation, at any level of risk, on a needs-led basis.

About the Role

As the FSW you will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies. You will provide ongoing casework support, including referrals to specialist advice and practical support, such as legal advice around civil and criminal remedies. You will empower survivors with information on their rights and options, demystifying complex statutory systems and dispelling myths perpetuated by perpetrators and wider society and will provide support to maintain accommodation, or to source permanent accommodation as necessary.

About You

You will have a passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.

You will have the skills to provide effective crisis intervention, carry out risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning

Hope Place is a new supported accommodation service located in Slough comprising 10 self contained rooms with a staff office on site. The service accommodates and support people who experience moderate to high complex mental illness, many of whom will also have a range of additional and complex needs, for example drug and alcohol misuse issues and personality disorders.

Hope Place provides care and support for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Bank Holidays. The service is covered at night by designated Waking Night staff. Support Workers will be required to work on a rota basis, covering early and late shifts, including at weekends and Bank Holidays.

The service has a focus on enabling and utilise customers' skills. Amongst other responsibilities, the successful candidates will support service users to acquire tenancy sustainment and budgeting skills, encourage and facilitate group activities, socialisation, opportunities for training and employment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for risk and needs assessing and safety planning with survivors of domestic violence. They will hold a caseload of service users identified as requiring crisis intervention, advice, advocacy and onward referral where appropriate. The role of a Step Down Worker is to provide ongoing support to IDVA clients where the risk has been reduced to a safer level or where a client is referred into the service as medium/standard risk.. Are you considering entering a career in law, having a strong passion for social justice? We are recruiting a Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to PILC’s Gypsy and Traveller Legal Advice project which aims to defend and promote the rights of gypsies and travellers to pursue a nomadic way of life. You will assist our Supervising Solicitor, an expert in gypsy and traveller law, who has represented this underprivileged community over the last 15 years. As well as working on client files, you will liaise with the Legal Aid Agency to ensure their cases receive public funding, making sure documentation is prepared for court hearings, and arranging for experts and other participants to take part in proceedings.  

Ideally you will be available to join us from the beginning of September to benefit from a full introduction by the incumbent.

Since becoming independent in 2019, PILC has gone from strength to strength by carefully expanding our strategic priorities and project areas. Our team is growing and currently made up of 17 staff working from our modern offices in Cambridge Heath, E2.
