The role
As the Research and Evaluation Manager, you will manage the ACU’s overall contribution to the AU EU International Research Consortium (IRC). The IRC is a new bi-continental platform for Food and Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture (FNSSA). It was launched in 2022 and is closely linked to the main policy process of the AU-EU cooperation on Research and Innovation- the High-Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD). The implementation of the FNSSA Roadmap is expected to be improved through the IRC platform which is aiming to provide a long-term and sustainable governance and funding mechanisms, and a knowledge management and communication system that will inform policy makers and other major FNSSA actors.
The ACU is one of the founding organisations of the IRC. The role holder will be responsible for partnership management and the development and implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks for two Horizon Europe funded programmes which will be contributing to the establishment and maintenance of the IRC.
Key tasks will include developing participatory monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks, data collection and analysis systems as well as project management including reporting to Horizon Europe programme coordinators based at the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) in Ghana.

The Client Support Worker targets those who need the Foodbank on a repeated basis and offers a package of support to address the complex and often overwhelming challenges and crisis situations they are facing. This role is a great opportunity for individuals with proven programme management experience, particularly in public health initiatives. We’re looking for a creative-loving Marketing Communications person to join our digital content team at Hospice UK. It’s a really exciting chance to jump into a pivotal role here, and facilitate much of the great visual content that we produce as a team.
You’ll be working with some lovely people in the wider Communications and Campaigns team, which is part of an External Affairs directorate. We’re a small, close-knit department but already this year we’ve achieved some truly mighty results – not least, our recent rebrand, new strategy and new visual identity.
As you might imagine, working at a hospice charity brings with it some truly compassionate people. It’s a really lovely place to work because the people make it so. As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’d be part of a team of three, including your line manager (Senior Digital Marketing & Campaign Manager), and Membership Communications Officer.
And yes – as a hospice charity, we do work with death and dying on a daily basis. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Actually, by talking about it, writing about it and sharing stories about it, we’re helping to remove the stigma and taboo that it often comes with. And those stories and communications help give people hope, strength and confidence, sometimes when they need it most.
As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’ll be looking after a lot of our more creative, aesthetic products and projects. You might already be working as a Marketing or Digital Marketing Officer or Coordinator, and looking for the next step for your career. Or you could be an established Marcomms professional searching for a new challenge. Maybe you’ve already been in a marketing management position and want to get back to doing what you love!
Either way, you’ll be pretty knowledgeable on how to look after digital channels like social media and websites, and will have some experience of both. You might have some photoshoot management and video projects under your belt too, and ideally you’ll have experience of managing a digital asset management system. The role will also involve some print project knowledge, so it would be really handy if you’ve looked after relationships with designers, printers and know how the process works (and what gsm our new Impact Report should be, for example!)

That’s because many people in other teams here will turn to you for guidance on how to use our new brand, which logo or font to use, and requests to source appropriate photography in our house style.
We’re looking to bolster our content and storytelling about compelling hospice care, and we’d love someone to join us with ideas on how to elevate that, and help source and write those stories up for us. Part of your role as Senior Marketing Communications Officer will be to help produce content – stories, videos, photos, resources – to our two major national campaigns: Hospice Care Week, and Dying Matters Awareness Week. We have an exciting opportunity to join Centre 404’s Learning and Leisure team as the manager of our Day Opportunities service. This service supports adults with a wide range of needs to be active members of the community, increase their independence, develop their life skills and set themselves goals and achievements to work towards.
The post holder will be responsible for line managing the team who plan and deliver a broad programme of social and educational community-based activities. You will oversee the smooth running of the service and be responsible for quality assurance while ensuring the identified aims of the programme are met. You will also oversee all associated administration, the recruitment and management of relevant staff and volunteers, and contribute to the running and ongoing development of the service.
The role will involve balancing multiple priorities, including strategic planning as well as hands-on work alongside the rest of the team, ensuring a person-centred approach is maintained at all times and involving people in decision-making structures. There is ample scope for personal and professional development.
This job does require you to be an experienced manager who has planned and developed sessions for people with learning disabilities and led and motivated a team to ensure positive outcomes for people using the service.

The Responsibilities
Events Manager
o Line managing the assigned event coordinators, temporary staff or office volunteers.
o This will include annual appraisals and weekly 1-2-1’s
o Helping to recruit and line-manage casual workers
o Helping with day to day running and support of the team for the staff assigned to this role.
Logistical arrangements:
o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event.
o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers.
o Determining catering requirements and caterer management.
o Hiring of any additional venues as required and site logistics.
o Attending site visits (for external venues that might be used).
o Hiring of any additional equipment required for the event.
o Liaising with the Production, IT, Verger, Worship team and all other internal departments.
