We currently have an opportunity for a Nature Recovery Manager within our national Environment ＆ Climate Action Team within the Strategy and Impact Directorate. The S&I directorate analyses current and emerging policy and sets the Trust’s strategy and standards for regional delivery across all the Trust’s activities. The Environment and Climate action team is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategy and policy on all environment and climate related sustainability issues, including environmental compliance as a minimum, improvement of our protected sites and achieving a net gain in biodiversity across our canal network.

Reporting to the Head of Environment and Climate action, the Nature Recovery Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Trusts position and progress on nature recovery. The role includes delivering a long-term action plan to move more of our protected sites to favourable condition and collaborating with other teams across the Trust to develop, fund and deliver projects that increase biodiversity and the abundance of protected species across the network.

Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop, implement and maintain the Trust’s nature recovery strategy
• Develop and own a national action plan to improve the condition of the Trust’s protected sites to meet the requirements set out in the Environmental Improvement Plan 2023.
• Develop, deliver, and report on a programme of projects and activities enabling the Trust to demonstrate its biodiversity commitments as a 28G authority and that it is delivering an overall net gain in biodiversity across the network. This includes working closely with teams delivering mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising, Marketing, Campaigns and Enterprise functions to deliver high quality, fundable nature recovery projects.
• Ownership of Trust standards relating to protected sites and biodiversity; working with internal technical experts and the Trust’s legal team to ensure that all Trust standards relating to protected sites and biodiversity meet regulatory requirements.
• Working with the Trust’s operational and delivery teams to ensure that standards are delivered and align with business processes through a process of assurance checking.
• Manage external technical input where requires (e.g. from consultants)
• Assist in the investigation of environmental incidents, near misses and ensure the production and dissemination of key learnings
• Producing progress reports (quarterly/ annually/ as necessary) for Defra and the wider public as well as input into our annual accounts and ESG reports
• Producing case studies and other examples of best practice for internal and external audiences
• Developing and delivering biodiversity and nature recovery training
• Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times.
• Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promoting inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trust’s policies and values.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

• Full Member CIEEM (MCIEEM) qualification or equivalent
• Broad understanding of key policy drivers for improving biodiversity in UK organisations, e.g Environmental Improvement Plan 2023, TNFD etc.
• Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing opportunities to improve nature within an organisation with multiple objectives and environmental aspects.
• Practical understanding of the UK regulatory frameworks for biodiversity, habitats, and protected species
• Working knowledge of the key metrics tools for Biodiversity Net Gain (Defra Metric 4.0, UK Habitats and MoRPH) and how these can be used to demonstrate improvements in biodiversity.
• Experience with working with protected sites and the new Natural England framework for categorising and managing pressures, mechanism and actions
• Experience with working with climate change datasets (e.g. UKCP18) to develop adaptation plans for biodiversity under future climate scenarios/
• Authoring company standards and guidance within an Environmental Management System
• Project/ programme management skills
• Developing business cases

Location:

The role will be home-based with an expectation to attend main regional hubs either at Milton Keynes, Birmingham or Little Venice (Paddington) for collaborative working. This is a national role, requiring collaboration with teams in all six of the Trust’s regions. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be able travel to attend meetings or fieldwork throughout the regional waterway network.

Rates of Pay: £13.45ph to £15.02ph (depending on experience/qualifications, including holiday allowance)

Summary of Role

Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Support Workers are key to

ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for children and young people. Working with children and young

people in group settings, the role will support the delivery of our play and youth projects and activities to aid their

development.

Responsibilities

● Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of children and young people by assisting in

the running, organisation and delivery of particular projects.

● Establishing positive relationships with all children and young people supporting and enabling them to

increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities.

● Coordinating resources and to develop opportunities for children and young people which reflects their

particular needs and circumstances.

● Facilitating the active involvement of the children and young people in the planning and development of the

project programme.

● Facilitating the positive integration of children and young people with behavioural difficulties and/or

additional needs within the project.

● Supporting and guiding volunteers, trainees and junior leaders in all of the above, as required.

● Working as a member of the AAA team to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people

being supervised including day to day 'housekeeping' of the site and maintenance of equipment.

● Liaising with parents, carers and other organisations and professionals as required.

● Adapting activities to meet a child's/young person’s needs as appropriate.

● Carrying out health and safety inspections as required.

● Adhering to AAA policies and procedures in respect of safeguarding children and young people.

This role will report to the Head of Business Transformation and will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and execution of priority projects within the Group.

- Proven experience of project managing cross-functional large-scale projects in a regulated environment, preferably within the housing or real estate industry.  
- Excellent knowledge and experience of using different project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and applying the governing principles. 
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and building collaborative relationships, including strong influencing skills with ability to gain buy-in from challenging stakeholders. 
- Proven experience of implementing change management, including having delivered training, driven adoption and closed out projects.  

Location

The successful candidate will be required to live within a commutable distance to their office in Bradford.

They’re a keen promoter of agile working and encourage the use of working from home, as long as they meet their customer’s needs.

Salary

The spot salary for this post is £50,000 for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Supporting Welsh Mums: Provide comprehensive support to Welsh mothers within Eastwood Park, assisting them in maintaining relationships with their children during their time in custody.
2.Triage and Engagement: Conduct triage assessments for Welsh mothers upon entry into custody to identify their specific needs and engage them in our support services effectively.
3.Collaborative Approach: Work closely with our Visiting Mum community worker to ensure a collaborative and holistic approach to supporting mothers in custody and their children/families within the community.
4.Project Delivery: Successfully deliver on the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Visiting Mums Project, including timely reporting each month to track progress and outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with families in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally involving prisoners and/or their families. You will have the ability to advocate for families dealing with imprisonment, promoting their human rights and ensuring their needs are considered, and views are heard at all levels. You will have the ability to develop referral pathways for families, prisoners and other professionals to access the service. You may have experience of the following: Casework, Key Working, providing advice, guidance and emotional support to male service users.

All parts of the Church will need to raise funds to implement this net zero plan. In 2024 and 2025, the Church of England is testing and piloting a range of approaches to help churches fundraise for projects. Our feasibility study identified that statutory sources of funding, currently under-accessed will be a new area of opportunity for churches, schools and housing to access.

The Giving Directorate is leading on the strategy to coordinate and support the plans being developed by our dioceses, churches, cathedrals, schools, and departments. Job Summary:

As Net Zero Carbon Statutory Fundraising Coordinator, you will work in The Giving Directorate and operate across the whole Church with a focus on supporting parishes and dioceses to access statutory funds. You will share your knowledge and insight to support with identifying, researching and applying to funding from a range of government sources. You will develop and maintain resources, guidance and training and help share best practice across the country, as well as working with regional fundraisers. With a range of projects and fundraising initiatives, the post holder will work collaboratively within The Giving Directorate and with the Net Zero Programme Team, with diocesan colleagues and with church volunteers.

The role:

Main responsibilities

• Develop a national plan to secure statutory funding at parish and diocesan level
• Acting as a central point of coordination between the schools, housing and parish fundraising workstreams to oversee statutory funding
• Working specifically with the Regional Fundraising Officer in the north west cluster of dioceses to identify and support applications to statutory funding sources by parishes
• Working with Net Zero Implementation Manager to support statutory funding applications for clergy housing
• Building capacity in dioceses to support senior staff (incl. Bishops) to use their networks to identify relevant statutory funding opportunities (e.g. mayors, local council leadership, police and crime commissioners etc)
• Supporting dioceses to think creatively about packaging projects up a) between parishes, b) between parishes, schools and clergy housing, c) across deaneries.
• Leading consortia of dioceses to apply for funding if available and supporting applications
• Building a hub of best practice and shared learning which will include designing and delivering training to staff and volunteers at all levels
• Sharing statutory funding opportunities across the Church of England, Net Zero Carbon, Giving, and Fundraising networks and with Cathedrals

The ideal candidate:

To be successful, you will need experience of securing statutory funding for projects and of other aspects of fundraising. You will need to be a very strong self-motivator and initiator as the job requires an ability to work across a wide geographical area on a diverse range of projects. Experience managing projects would also be useful. You will be an excellent trainer and communicator.

Due to the specialist nature of the roles within The Giving Directorate, training will be provided to successful candidates to enable them to carry out their role confidently.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level, or equivalent/relevant experience.
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising

Experience

Essential:

• Experience in securing funding from statutory funders
• Success in securing five and six-figure gifts
• Experience of other types of grants and trust fundraising in a paid capacity
• Experience of working successfully in multi-disciplinary teams across departments in a complex organisation.

Desirable:

• Provide ongoing support to volunteers
• When referrals are received, match the service user with the most appropriate volunteer while ensuring a high quality, timely and responsive service is provided
• Identify and attend relevant networks, publicise the Community Assistance Project, establish community links with all appropriate stakeholders and promote the service through a range of methods
• Promote and cascade information, including real-life examples of positive intervention through all available methods

Groundswell is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that focuses on peace-building, countering social harms and creating more resilient communities. We seek to do this through our trademarked ‘FIND-CONNECT-AMPLIFY’ model in which we identify local and existing community based organisations, connect them with wider community and statutory partners and amplify their efforts. We are active across the UK and are now seeking to expand our network of community connectors.

Job Context

Groundswell Project is seeking to recruit community connectors to work on a Big Lottery funded project called ‘Together we are’. This project seeks to implement Groundswell’s ‘Find, Connect, Amplify’ approach in four cities in the UK, namely London, Manchester, Glasgow and Luton. These roles are tasked with mapping community based groups in their respective cities, offering them support, connecting them with local statutory partners and putting on events that allow said groups to expand their outreach in the local area. Ultimately, the aim of the role is to ensure local community groups are better connected, much more visible and, thus, more effective. We are currently recruiting for a Luton based connector.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1) Mapping the local landscape for community based organisations and producing a borough profile

2) Building strong relationships with local statutory and community based partners

3) Arrange meetings that connect local stakeholders in order to foster greater collaborative work

4) Arrange and promote a series of events in the local area that focus on relevant local themes

5) Help develop the Groundswell community mapper

6) Report directly to the ‘Together We Are’ project manager on all aspects of local work

Person Specification

The person must possess the following:

- A strong familiarity with the local area

- Experience of working with community based organisations

About Future Men: Are you passionate about providing mentoring support to boys and young men? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a specialist and dynamic charity providing emotional and practical support to boys and young men.

At Future Men, through our practice-led services, we work with boys and men from childhood to 25 to help them become healthy, dynamic, future men. Facilitator - School Delivery

As a Project Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering group and one-to-one support in primary and secondary schools as part of the Boys' Development team. Our work in primary school is with Year 6 and in the secondary school we work with Year 7 to 11 .  A key element of the work will be to deliver the sessions face to face and maintain good working relationships with the schools and the partner organisations we are supporting. About the role

The purpose of the Project Driver/Office Assistant role is to provide logistical support to the Anyim Maber Project, by driving staff and visitors when required, to ensure maintenance and safety of the project vehicle, and to complete clerical duties so that the office is running efficiently.

Further duties for the Project Driver/Office Assistant role include;

Driving tasks

• Undertake driving assignments for Sightsavers staff, project visitors and consultants as required.
• Provide logistical support to the Nwoya PIU
• Drive Sightsavers staff and visitors for project visits in the programme areas as required.
• Keep the project vehicle in clean condition, properly maintained and fuelled at the designated service stations.
• Ensure that vehicle logbooks are properly maintained and compile summaries on vehicle movements and fuel utilisation as per monthly vehicle reporting form.
• Maintenance of vehicles.

Administrative tasks

• Undertake courier or dispatch tasks and duties payment of bills, mail collection, delivery & distribution of letters.
• Receive and direct Uganda Country Office (UCO) visitors in absence of the Project Officer, providing information where needed.
• Respond to general requests to Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
• In liaison with Programme Coordinator, distribute send documents to Partners.
• Provide administrative support in filing, photocopying, and binding documents.
• Logistical support during field visits - play lead role, take photographs.
• Undertake logistics of programme workshops and meetings.

To succeed in this role, you will need a UCE certificate or equivalent, and possess previous working experience in a similar roles within a reputable private firm or NGO.

Further required skills and experience include;

• Previous working experience as a Driver
• Previous administrative experience
• A clean and valid Ugandan driving licence (class A and E)
• Certificate of good conduct.
• Minimum 3 years accident-free driving record with reputable private firm or NGO.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
