Launched in 2017, 2027 was born out of a desire to shift power in the grant-making sector. It aims to bridge the gap between funders and the communities they serve—particularly by addressing the lack of people with lived experience of working-class communities in decision-making roles. 2027 helps change who is involved in making funding decisions and how those decisions are made.

Youth Engagement Officer
Location: Hybrid. Expected to be in our London office in Victoria at least one day per week. You can be remote every other day or come into the office. Your office days are flexible and can be agreed with your manager, other than for monthly team days where you must be in person. Some nationwide travel expected for Youth Steering Group training days, events and conferences. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world as long as you’re online for four hours of the UK workday.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 August 2026 with the possibility to extend.
Holidays: 38 days per year, including our 3-day winter shut down and eight flexible bank holidays.

As the Youth Engagement Officer, you will work with our Head of Youth Engagement to ensure our Youth Steering Group can lead their own campaign activities, engage directly with decision makers, and collaborate with other young people to bring about the change they want to see. Our Youth Steering Group is made up of 25 brilliant young people, aged 14-24, who draw on their lived experience of the different barriers to accessing a fair education, to campaign for change. You will support the young people to lead their own campaign activity, write their monthly Youth Bulletin and engage directly with policy makers. You will also help the group to participate in FEA decision making, support the design and facilitation of their monthly meetings and training days, help them make progress against their personal development plans. This role will include working directly with young people, session planning and facilitation, policy research and managing logistics.
Ensure the Fair Education Youth Summit is a success and remains truly youth-led
Our Youth Steering Group design and run the annual Fair Education Youth Summit. The event is led by young people for young people and brings together young changemakers from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors to develop their youth leadership skills, collaborate on campaigns, and engage directly with decision makers. You will support the young people to design sessions, secure speakers, embed past feedback and plan the event structure. You will also support with the event logistics, guestlist management, participant communications and collecting attendee feedback.
Support our members to improve their youth engagement practice
Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will support the management of logistics, promote the workshops, and communicate with working group members. You will also support the facilitation of the workshops and ensure the attendee data and feedback is correctly logged and actioned. The critical responsibilities of this role are described above. Job Purpose
We are looking for a Marine Scientist to play a substantive role to support all of Oceana’s UK campaigns. Research, science and data are at the heart of Oceana’s UK work, underpinning our policy positions, creating campaign moments and answering key questions with new research.
The successful candidate will write and project manage research to unlock key campaign questions relating to overfishing, habitat protection and energy in particular, as well as other potential campaign areas in future. They will also work to increase Oceana’s presence within the academic community, attending relevant conferences and meetings and seeking future collaborations on topics of interest.
The Scientist will report to and be supported by the Director of Policy and Research, and work closely with science colleagues across the Oceana global network and beyond. Eligible candidates should have some experience in conducting research, including analysing data, but we’re equally looking for passion, motivation and a drive to protect the ocean. You should be a self-starter, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a small but growing team.
Role Overview
- Support the delivery of Oceana’s campaigns, working with the Director of Policy and Research and relevant campaign teams.
- Research, draft and/or review content for Oceana’s scientific reports and other external communications, with particular attention to scientific accuracy.
- Gather evidence to support Oceana’s UK campaigns, including analysing primary and secondary data, conducting literature reviews and creating position papers.
- Commission and project manage research from external partners as needed, managing relationships through the duration of any projects.
- Work closely with the Oceana HQ Science and Strategy team and other scientist colleagues in the Oceana network to gather insights, inspiration and knowledge.
- Coordinate relevant stakeholders to ensure internal scientific reviews are completed in line with campaign timelines.
- Build strong external relationships within the academic community and represent Oceana to ensure we advance our goals with a wide range of stakeholders, from the general public to politicians.
- Actively participate in key policy and research conferences and events to defend and advance Oceana campaign goals.
- Maintain subject matter expertise and identify areas for new research by following the current literature, attending relevant meetings, and communicating with peers in the field.

Candidate Requirements
Education and work experience
- Degree, ideally masters-level, in environmental, fisheries or marine science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with marine and climate issues, regulations and policies in the UK, as well as with key institutions and decision-making processes.
- Experience writing or commissioning primary or secondary research and associated materials summarising the work.
- A passion for UK seas and delivering a healthy ocean in general.
Skills and knowledge
- Familiarity with UK marine and fisheries policy and science.
- GIS and database proficiency, including basic knowledge of GIS mapping and statistical analysis.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role builds on the work of our Feminist Green New Deal project. The Feminist Green New Deal puts the needs and priorities of women, racialised and marginalised groups at the heart of all climate policy and action and advocates for a care-led green recovery from our multiple crises of climate breakdown and inequality. The role will continue to develop our Feminist Green New Deal work engaging new audiences, stakeholders and writing new policy papers.
As a Feminist Climate Justice Policy Campaigner you will make connections with policy makers, government departments, NGOs and influencers, bringing an intersectional feminist lens to these spaces. You will need to keep up to speed with UK climate policies and how these impact women.
Wen works at the grassroots and policy level ensuring that grassroots perspectives are part of and shape climate policy making so a key part of the role will be linking these two levels. You will work closely with our Climate Sisters programme and the Tower Hamlets Food Partnership which inform our Feminist Green New Deal policy asks and campaigns, advocating for inclusive climate policy rooted in the priorities of women, particularly racialised and marginalised groups. We are looking to recruit a policy campaigner with in-depth knowledge of the policy systems and strategic thinking about how to advocate for feminist climate justice at local, regional and national level in the UK working in collaboration with others.

The Role
Reporting to Director of Finance and Operations, the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis plays a critical leadership role in shaping IIED’s financial strategy and enabling data-informed decision-making. You will lead the FP&A function, ensuring robust budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and reporting processes across the Institute. Working closely with the Director of Finance and Operations, research teams, and senior leadership, you will drive financial insight, support long-term planning, and ensure effective resource allocation.
This role will also line manage the Finance Business Partners, supporting them in delivering high-quality financial support to programme teams and driving continuous improvements in our project financial management and cost recovery practices.

About You
To be considered as the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will need to be:
- Qualified accountant (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with significant post-qualification experience in financial leadership roles.
- Strong track record in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Expertise in cost recovery, funder compliance, and financial management of donor-funded projects.
- Exceptional analytical skills and ability to translate complex financial data into strategic insights.

- Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful.
As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. Your core work will be supporting the management of CUP Global on a day-to-day basis to help deliver its main objective of updating the Third Expert Report. You will provide scientific input, administrative support, and help coordinate specific work areas of CUP Global.
