The Opportunity

The Board of Trustees is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Llys Nini into the next phase of its development. This is an unique opportunity to make a lasting difference for animals, people, and the environment across South Wales.

Job purpose Summary:

To be the organisation’s lead professional, leading on strategy development and delivering the objectives of the Charity. To lead, manage and develop the staff teams in order to meet the organisation’s strategic objectives and ensure its sustainability.

Accountable to the Board of Trustees and acting as the interface between employees, volunteers, and other partners with the shared aim of delivering upon the Branch’s charitable objectives.

Main responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership

• Provide vision, leadership, direction and management in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, employees, RSPCA, and relevant stakeholders.
• Lead on strategy development, business planning and financial planning in partnership with the Board of Trustees and Finance Manager.
• Develop and monitor strategies and policies to ensure the long term viability of the organisation, including care and maintenance of the land and buildings.

2. Governance

• Support the Board of Trustees in the responsibilities to ensure robust governance structures.
• Alongside the board, taking responsibility for the legal obligations of the organisations in accordance with the RSPCA and Charity Commission rules.

3. Financial & Resource management

• Develop a funding strategy that explores implements and maintains short- and long-term funding options.
• Develop appropriate partnerships with other local charities and organisations.
• Working with the Finance Manager, preparation and oversight of resources and investments.
• Identify and manage risks within the organisation, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.

4. Partnership relationships and management

• Build strong and strategic relationships and alliances with the RSPCA and local organisations within the community.

5. Operation Management

• Provide value driven leadership, support and professional development across the organisation, including performance review processes.
• Monitor and review the organisational structure, performance and quality of the services provided to the public in all areas.
• Ensure all policies are up to date and relevant.
• Acting as on the safeguarding leads for the Charity, manage the concerns from staff, customers and visitors, in line with the policy and procedures.
• Promote the importance of the Welsh Language and culture, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and acting as a role model for the inclusive values of the Branch.

6. People Management

• Effectively line manage the senior staff.

Make-A-Wish UK is seeking a visionary leader to drive public fundraising and supporter engagement at scale. This strategic role oversees all public income streams, including: individual giving, legacies, events, and innovation, while leading a high-performing team and sector-leading Supporter Care function.

You'll shape long-term growth, deliver significant income targets, and champion a supporter-first culture across the organisation. As part of our Extended Leadership Team, you’ll influence board-level decisions and help ensure Make-A-Wish UK continues granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Core Purpose: 
The Head of Public Fundraising is a pivotal strategic leadership role at Make-A-Wish UK,   responsible for the strategic direction, planning, delivery, long-term growth and performance of all public fundraising and supporter engagement activity.
 
This includes   strategic oversight of all public income streams - individual giving (cash, regular giving, lottery, payroll), legacies, in-memory giving, challenge events, community fundraising, owned products, and innovation—as well as   operational leadership of the Supporter Care team, which manages supporter care, income processing, data imports, and inbound queries for the whole organisation.
 
The role leads a multi-disciplinary team of around 20, across four core public fundraising and engagement functions, who are responsible for delivery of a high-performing public fundraising programme and sector-leading supporter care function - acquiring, engaging, and retaining supporters at scale, growing income sustainably and ensuring every interaction reflects Make-A-Wish’s values and drives long-term income growth.
 
This role contributes to over 50% of the charity’s total fundraised income, plays a critical role in long-term sustainability, and operates at cross-organisationally to embed a supporter-first culture, championing   segmentation, stewardship and integrated journeys that drive lifetime value. The role is responsible for delivering significant and growing income targets, developing multi-year investment plans, and influencing organisation-wide strategies to ensure we are equipped to serve a growing supporter base. The postholder is part of the Extended Leadership Team (XLT), reporting to the Director of Income & Engagement, and influences decisions at Board level through strategic investment planning and performance reporting.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in public fundraising, with a strong track record of income growth across a broad portfolio of income streams (e.g. individual giving, legacies, community, events, innovation, lottery).
• Experience of leading the development and implementation of organisation-wide strategies, and aligning team plans to broader strategic priorities.
• Demonstrable success in a senior leadership role of similar scale and complexity, with full accountability for strategy, delivery, performance and people management across multiple teams and functions.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering large-scale fundraising strategies, investment plans, and innovation pipelines which supports the organisational vision, mission and strategic objectives.
• Significant experience of leading both income-generating and operational functions (e.g. supporter experience or donor services).
• Highly experienced in developing and delivering multi-channel and multi-product acquisition, engagement and retention strategies to engage a range of supporter audiences to grow a supporter database and increase lifetime value.
• Highly experienced in using different direct marketing techniques across a range of channels including DRTV, DM, F2F, TM and digital marketing, with a proven track record of income growth within a fundraising environment, developed and delivered with a focus on future sustainability.
• Strong background in managing multi-million-pound budgets and long-term ROI models, including regular Board-level reporting.
• Strong external representation skills, including managing relationships with key suppliers, agencies, and sector partners.
• Demonstrable ability to lead insight-driven innovation, with experience of testing, scaling and refining audience-led approaches.

People Leadership and Culture

• Provide strategic leadership to a multi-functional team of approximately 20 colleagues, including four senior direct reports across core fundraising and supporter servicing functions.

Data, Insight and Innovation

• Work in partnership with Data & Impact to develop insight tools and reporting dashboards to track performance across both income and supporter experience.
• Oversee use of segmentation, audience journey mapping, and predictive analytics to inform both fundraising and operational planning.
• Lead on Make-A-Wish’s innovation pipeline within Public Fundraising, identifying opportunities for new product development and managing test-and-learn pilots through to scale.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure fundraising and supporter care stay relevant and responsive to audience expectations.

The Donmar has an exceptional ability to raise private funds, and the vital importance of fundraising is recognised across the organisation and embedded in the overall strategy. Each year we raise around half our income through fundraising from a varied number of sources, with corporate income representing around a third of the fundraised income. The Development team is led by the Director of Strategic Development and Fundraising, and comprises 11 people.

Purpose of role

The Head of Corporate Partnerships will join the Development department at a time of rapid and exciting growth for the team, with a remit to lead a high achieving and ambitious team of three to achieve significant revenue targets through partnerships and sponsorships, oversee a successful corporate masterclass programme and research and implement new opportunities to generate revenue.

Who We Are Looking For

This role is ideally suited to an ambitious and highly motivated individual who thrives in a busy and fast-paced environment with senior experience in corporate development, and who is interested in playing a critical role at one of the UK's leading producing theatres. Partnerships and Sponsorships

In 2022, we launched Long-term Investors in People’s Health (LIPH), a cross-cutting programme of work leveraging our toolkit of investor accountability, corporate engagement and policy advocacy. It is one of ShareAction’s largest programmes. Since the launch of LIPH, we have run high-profile campaigns to get large food manufacturers and retailers to improve their health disclosures and sell healthier products via our Healthy Markets Initiative (HMI); recently set up a Clean Air Initiative (CAI); mobilised investors to engage with corporates, the UK government, and standard-setting bodies on issues such as clean air and sick leave policies; and partnered with academics to grow the evidence base on the financial materiality of health. We have ambitious plans to take this work forward and are looking for a new Head of the team to help us do so.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee and contribute to the successful implementation of ShareAction’s strategy to tackle poor health via its LIPH programme, a cross-cutting programme of work leveraging our toolkit of investor accountability, corporate engagement and policy advocacy.
• Lead and motivate a team of 10 staff members and directly line manage at least three of them.
• Ensure adequate risk management and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes are in place.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it’s harming too many lives. At Prostate Cancer UK, one of our top priorities is funding research that leads to real change. It’s vital we do our best to make sure this research makes a meaningful difference to men’s lives, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Officer to help us deliver our funding schemes and patient and public involvement work.  This role sits in the Research Funding Team and will provide us with additional support during an exciting time while we implement a new grants management system. You’ll work across all our grant funding schemes, ensuring we are following best practise in research funding.

You’ll take responsibility for a small portfolio of active research grants, providing support and guidance to the researchers leading them. You’ll be a main point of contact for grant applicants, supporting them as they apply to us and will be responsible for running peer review. Using your understanding of research funding and administration, you’ll help make sure our funding schemes run smoothly and to time. You’ll work with colleagues to support patient and public involvement in research both in our review process and through our Patient Representative Network who help researchers make sure their work is focussed on the needs of men with prostate cancer.

This role is a fixed term to cover an internal secondment for 12 months.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Senior Research Officer who is passionate about research and has a desire to develop knowledge of prostate cancer. You’ll hold a biomedical degree (or a degree in a related subject), or with equivalent experience gained in research funding, administration or the wider research sector.

You’ll already have a good grasp of how grant funding works and, ideally, some experience of research administration and peer review. Confidence in interpreting complex scientific information is important, as you’ll be using this knowledge to find the right people to peer review the grant applications that are submitted to our schemes.

You're also an accurate record keeper with a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills. You're assured and clear in your communication, both written and verbal, and you're able to respond to a wide range of inquiries from researchers while always adhering to data protection and confidentiality best practices.  Experience of using Symplectic’s Grant Tracker would be an advantage but is not essential.

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team of 28 staff, ideally before the end of 2025.

This is a hybrid role of 3 to 4 days a week with a minimum of 2 days a week based at the office in Talgarth, LD3 0BW.

The CFO works alongside the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer to manage the finances and governance of The Wye and Usk Foundation (WUF), a conservation charity with an annual income between £1.5m and £2m.

Given the retirement of the current postholder at the end of 2025, we are seeking a well-qualified and experienced individual to take on this senior leadership role as soon as possible to enable handover to occur.

The role is very varied and wide-ranging, including presenting financial information and management accounts to the trustees and senior management on a monthly basis, maintaining annual budgeting, appraising internal project budgets and contracts, preparing annual statutory accounts in line with the Charity SORP and liaising with external auditors, and managing the VAT requirements for the organisation on a partial VAT basis.

The postholder will lead a team of three in the finance department and join a very knowledgeable and welcoming team of 28 highly engaged and passionate staff at WUF.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Working alongside the CEO, the CFO will provide commercial, financial and governance management and leadership for WUF. The CFO will not only be an exceptional accountant, with executive oversight of the finance function, but will be commercially astute and have the confidence to represent robustly the best interests of WUF. The CFO will also be an experienced manager of people.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Act as a business partner to support and constructively challenge the CEO in the general management of WUF, reporting to the trustees.
2. Lead all aspects of the finance function (including maintaining and developing the financial control environment; robust financial accounting; cashflow management; incisive management information; clear and concise reporting to the trustees) to ensure that the Charity and the Companies’ assets are secured, risks are managed, and the Board of Trustees can make well-informed decisions.
3. Manage relationships with auditors, funders, banks, investment platforms (with assistance from the trustees), and other external organisations.
4. Provide support to project bids and the development of other commercial opportunities to ensure that bids/opportunities are optimised for WUF.
5. Provide input to project and programme delivery from time to time, to ensure that performance is maximised for WUF.
6. Attend trustee meetings and Finance and General Purposes Committee meetings to guide the Board of Trustees and the Senior Management Team on financial, commercial and governance issues.
7. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Charity Commission and Companies House and, from time to time, provide guidance to members of WUF on good governance practice.

3. Ensure the team delivers a high-quality service focused on internal and external customers and funders.

Knowledge, skills, experience, and personal qualities:

Essential

• Significant experience in financial management and senior leadership roles, ideally gained in a range of organisations

• Knowledge of Sage financial software packages.
• Experience of running and overseeing payroll.
• Experience of Partial Exemption VAT for Charities.
• Work to a good standard in Microsoft 365, especially Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

Desirable

• Experience of working in the charitable sector.
• Experience of grant funded claims.
• Understanding of Company Law and it’s practical application for organisations.
• Understanding of the environmental sector or a passion for making a positive impact.
• Familiarity in using Sharepoint.
• A basic understanding of UK payroll taxes and corporate governance.

Qualifications/ Education

• Qualified Accountant, preferably ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA.

The Chief Operating Officer has a pivotal role to play in the future of Church Army. This is a demanding role with the opportunity to shape and re-build this important charity for generations to come.

We are looking for a leader with excellent financial literacy, broad operational understanding, an ability to deliver vision and strategy, a clear Christian faith, and a commitment to seeing lives transformed through faith shared in words and action. He/she will sit on the Senior Leadership team and report to the CEO.
