NACCOM is recruiting a new permanent External Affairs Manager to lead the work of our small but highly impactful External Affairs team.

About the role: 

NACCOM is a national network of over 135 frontline organisations and charities across the UK, working together to end destitution amongst people seeking asylum, refugees and other migrants who aren’t able to access public funds because of their immigration status.

We do this by campaigning collectively for a fairer, more humane immigration system that doesn’t leave people destitute, and by sharing our learning, innovation, and resources across our membership to increase the level of accommodation provision and support the network is able to provide.

Key role information:

Hours: Full-Time (35 hours) or Part-Time (28 hours) per week 

Salary: Starting salary £43,000 annual FTE (plus £4,000 London Weighting if applicable)

Job purpose:

The External Affairs Manager will work closely with the Director and provide vital support to NACCOM and its members by: 

• Ensuring the strategic planning, management and alignment of communications, policy, research, campaigns, and advocacy as part of the External Affairs function at NACCOM. 

• Ensuring NACCOM’s external affairs functions feed from and into our network development work and our Community Ambassador / Research programme 

• Growing and safeguarding NACCOM’s brand identity, integrity and strategic positioning across all our external channels, networks and audiences. 

• Line-managing and supporting the Policy and Research Co-ordinator, Community Research Facilitator and part-time Communications Co-ordinator (currently covered by a freelancer) as well as managing any external consultants NACCOM works with across the External Affairs function. 

• Along with the Director, acting as spokesperson for NACCOM.

• Overseeing the spend against budget for External Affairs-related work. 

• Representing NACCOM at key, high-level meetings and coalitions, including with journalists, decision-makers and partners. 

• Actively supporting a culture of collaboration, support and mutual respect at NACCOM and across the membership network.

About the role

Our Participation and Involvement Manager will build on existing practice across the organisation and lead on the implementation and further development of a participation and involvement framework, enabling a large and diverse range of kinship carers to share their views and expertise meaningfully, safely and effectively to shape Kinship’s activity. It will also support our growing participation and involvement activity which involves children, young people and young adults with experience of growing up in kinship care.

You will work closely with kinship carers and colleagues across the organisation to understand the key challenges and opportunities with embedding participatory methods, including co-production and co-design, which improve Kinship’s work – right from the design and delivery of our advice and support services through to influencing policy and campaigning for change.

With support from colleagues, you will act as the key cross-organisational adviser on participation and involvement practice, supporting and empowering colleagues to develop the skills and knowledge they need to embed a consistent approach to the involvement of kinship carers to best suit the needs of their roles.

As an enthusiastic and engaging facilitator, and an advocate for participatory methods, you will sensitively and skillfully work alongside kinship carers and colleagues to deliver high quality involvement activity which supports the charity’s mission and aims. You will also be an experienced project manager, ensuring all activity is appropriately monitored and evaluated, and aligned with best practice around equality and diversity, remuneration, safeguarding and governance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Refine and further develop an existing organisational participation and involvement framework which supports staff to meaningfully, safely and effectively involve kinship carers in their work.
• Design and implement a plan to embed effective practice based on the framework across Kinship, building a positive organisational culture and providing appropriate training, upskilling and support to colleagues to ensure consistency of delivery and experience for kinship carers.
• Lead a cross-organisational working group of people with relevant lived, learned and professional experiences to support and advise on embedding high-quality participation and involvement activity.
• Work closely with colleagues across the whole organisation to understand their bespoke needs, strengths and requirements around implementing participatory methods in their day-to-day work, and develop strategic relationships with colleagues in areas with more extensive existing participatory or adjacent activity (e.g. research, volunteering).
• Develop and recruit a network of people with lived experience interested in being more intensively involved in participatory activities, with a focus on increasing the diversity of people working with us.

Essential experience includes:

• Experience managing and leading the delivery of participation or involvement activity with people with lived experience of social issues.
• A commitment to meaningful participation and involvement activity, including a nuanced understanding of the individual and organisational opportunities and challenges associated with this.
• Knowledge of models, methodologies and approaches used in high quality participation and involvement activity, and strong skills in creative facilitation – particularly with groups.
• An understanding of kinship care and how this may impact on kinship carers’ involvement with Kinship and our activity.

About the Role

Roles and Responsibilities

Accounting (40%)

• Oversee day-to-day transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, for both the UK charity and the newly created US charity
• Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records of accounting evidence for all transactions are maintained
• Monitor cashflow

Role Purpose:

The Social Change Nest is going through a very exciting growth period and since our Head of Development is going on maternity leave for 4 months from September we are looking for somebody who can join our growing team as soon as possible. The Senior Development Manager will contribute to our FY25/26 income targets and cover part of the functions of the Head of Development while she’s on leave. The Head of Development manages the Development team, which covers the business development, marketing and communications functions, and works with the CEO to ensure that the organisation grows in a strategic and balanced way.

The Social Change Nest is onboarding and supporting hundreds of new groups every year and we are working closely with funders across the UK and worldwide, helping them move large amounts of funding to unincorporated movements at the frontlines of social change. We are spending more time than ever raising awareness on how capital flows impact the ability of communities to create change, and how we can hack the system to enable more money to flow in an equitable way to unincorporated movements.

We are looking for somebody who is excited about all this and ready to hit the ground running. We are in the middle of a large capital raise, so we would like the ideal candidate to join the team as soon as possible to work closely with the Head of Development and the CEO, as well as the rest of the Development team, for 3 months, before the Head of Development goes on maternity leave. The Senior Development Manager will then take over part of the team support responsibilities of the Head of Development and share responsibility for the income targets with the CEO for the months that the Head of Development is on leave.

Main Purposes of Job and Key Tasks

We are seeking a highly organised and quick-witted Operations Officer to join our dynamic team at Spring Community Hub. The ideal candidate will have experience in operations or project management and excel at managing multiple priorities simultaneously. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of the organisation and ensuring smooth workflows across various departments.

In addition to their primary operations duties, the Operations Officer will also play a key role in recruiting and managing volunteers, organising events, and assisting with fundraising activities. The Operations Officer will support impact, monitoring, and evaluation tasks to help demonstrate the effectiveness of our programs to funders and stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate, preferably from a project delivery or impact measurement and evaluation background.

Primary duties include:

• Administrative and Office Support: Provide daily administrative support to the Operations Manager and team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, coordinating logistics, handling correspondence, and overseeing general office administration functions such as phones, mail distribution, supply orders, and facilities management.

The Grants Officer will support the Senior Manager to develop and implement monitoring and reporting
processes across the Foundation’s grant-giving activities. To be successful in the role, you must have
excellent knowledge of results-based monitoring and reporting, demonstrate strong organisational and
administrative skills, and ideally have experience working with colleagues from different cultural
backgrounds.

The initial focus of the role will be monitoring and reporting in relation to the implementation of a Big 6
EU funded programme, the Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF). This programme focuses on supporting
youth-led initiatives, giving young people the means to be effective agents of change. The YEF is global
in its reach but will focus on supporting local solutions and grassroots initiatives that young people
develop on the ground. The Officer will play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager to maintain and
grow Big 6 advocacy and partnerships for the short and long-term. This role will also work closely with
colleagues from the Operations and Finance team to ensure accurate information is delivered to key
stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

Youth Empowerment Fund (60%):

• Support the monitoring and reporting of the EU funded YEF programme. Including coordinationwithin the IAF and with the Big 6 designated leads.
• Communicating with and activating networks of national organizations to participate in the YEF,including sharing opportunities to take part in Big 6 advocacy activities and applying for youthled solutions open-call Local Solutions grants.
• Issuing of grants to successful national organizations and monitoring and evaluation, including regular reporting on outcomes and impact of national projects to the YEF project team.
• Sharing success stories from the YEF to support the Big 6 communication, storytelling and creative reporting efforts.

Other Grant based support (40%):

• Oversee grant-giving financial processes, creating and issuing of grant payments.

• Support the ongoing development of other Foundation grant reporting efforts as required.

About the role:

The Business Support Officer role sits within the Professionalisation team at the Council which develops and manages a range of products including the development and management of the Council Standard, cyber security specialisms and professional titles. Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London.  All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment. 

We are recruiting Employment Advisors to join our IPS service, you will be based in Newham, working 35 hours per week. Working Well Trust's services have previously been awarded the IPS Grow quality mark and adheres closely to the principles of the IPS model in supporting people in to employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment. 

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to employment as an integral aspect of wellbeing and supporting people to find the right job for them. You will receive training on the IPS model and in supporting people with mental health issues. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health, either personally or through a close contact.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in mental health, and the role it plays in the workplace.
