Legacy Manager (Maternity Cover)

 

Role Summary:

As part of the Major Gifts and Planned Giving team, this role is responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 80 legacy estates, including pecuniary, specific, residuary and life interest estates. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Augustus Club

• Administer legacies in a professional and approachable manner, to include correspondence with solicitors and other interested parties
• Maintain departmental information, files, and records related to legacy estates
• Act as the point of contact and grow and mature relationships with stakeholders and external groups in order to attain information needed to carry out the role
• Work with various stakeholders on contested legacies, collaborating with other charities where needed
• Be able to communicate to supporters how important and desirable legacies are to PETA
• Respond to enquiries and requests for assistance from Augustus Club members and planned-giving prospects
• Document pertinent information about planned-giving members for the purpose of enhancing and building relationships
• Remain current on estate-planning practices as well as fundraising techniques and methods used in the non-profit sector, attending professional training seminars as needed

The Role

132 Assessment Centre is for single homeless men and women that have links within the borough. The accommodation provides 6 separate self-contained units with on suite bedrooms, and 1 bedroomed flat. The scheme is staffed 24 hours, with Night Support Workers and Concierge cover during the evenings.

The aim of the project is to assess the individual over a 12-week period with the aim of identifying their support and housing needs. In that period, we will provide a bed for the customer to assist staff to carry out a detailed assessment to ensure that the recommendation for move on into alternative housing is captured correctly to assist move on for the individual into more suitable accommodation which is correct reflective of their needs based on our assessment/recommendation.

The role will be on a shift basis: 7.30am to 3.30pm and 2.00pm to 10pm.The team comprises of: Move on coordinator,Therapist, Housing Officer, 16 Support workers, Team Leaders x 2 and Project Manager.

What you'll do:
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs including support needs and daily living skills. This would include potential risks and an assessment of the customers independent living skills as a whole.
- The initial and co-produced assessment will incorporate models of co-production, observation, and person-centred planning. This is with a view that it is solution focused as to provide a framework for progression towards independent living.
- Liaise with partner agencies regarding the assessment process seeking advice and guidance as to specialist input and clinical input as part of multi-disciplinary assessment process.
- Create support/ action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available.

The Role

As a Senior Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the conservation, maintenance and enhancement of various historic and operational structures across the Royal Parks.

All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups. 

A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activities, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).

Skills and Qualifications

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. We are currently recruiting for a Philanthropy Executive to join our Philanthropy & Partnerships team in the Fundraising Directorate. The Philanthropy Executive will develop relationships with Major Donors and Family Foundations through research, events, proposals, and excellent stewardship. Securing philanthropic income against target to further the work of the Canal & River Trust.

This role will be offered on a remote working basis, with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces for team working and collaborative meetings. Hubs we can assign to you include Leeds, Ellesmere Port, Burnley, Newark, Birmingham, Hatton, Milton Keynes, Gloucester & London.

Applicants will need to be able to attend face-to-face team meetings in Birmingham (once or twice a month). The regularity & flexibility of travel will be discussed further at interview stage.

As our Senior Product Owner, supporting work in our Medical team, you’ll lead the development and management of our cutting-edge new Azure Databricks Data Intelligence Platform in partnership with the Health Insights team. 

This platform will play a crucial role in advancing our analytics capabilities, helping measure, evaluate and share the impact of the research we fund and the health and care projects we deliver, as well as ultimately improving patient outcomes through data-driven insights.

What you’ll be doing:
• Shape the product vision and roadmap for the Data Intelligence Platform, aligning with strategic goals of the Medical Directorate and wider British Heart Foundation (BHF).
• Lead agile delivery across a cross-functional team, evolving agile practices to suit varying levels of experience and maturity.
• Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, tailoring your communication to ensure clarity, alignment, and shared understanding.
• Foster collaboration across teams, encouraging a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and shared ownership.
• Use data to drive decisions, leveraging key metrics to prioritise features, track progress, and measure impact.
• Contribute to the Product Chapter, helping shape product standards and best practices across the organisation.

About you

You’ll be an experienced product leader who thrives in complex environments and knows how to bring people together to deliver impactful digital products. You’ll bring:
• Extensive experience in product management, particularly in digital and data-driven environments.
• Significant experience of leading and line managing a team.
• A strong track record of agile leadership, including introducing or evolving agile practices in teams with mixed levels of experience.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and simplify complex problems into component parts for short, medium and long-term delivery.
• Proven ability to manage product backlogs, define and prioritise features, and align delivery with strategic goals.
• In-depth experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams to gather requirements and steer them through discovery, refinement and delivery. 
• A data-informed mindset, with experience of measuring products against KPIs such as reach, conversion, and user satisfaction to guide product decisions.
• Strategic thinking and commercial awareness, able to balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility to make effective product decisions to prioritise development.
• Excellent planning and organising skills, effective at prioritising, scheduling and tracking work across dependencies taking account of deadlines, staffing and resource requirements.

Working arrangements 
 
Please note this is a 12-month fixed term contract. 

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
