Are you a dog lover with excellent administrative skills?
We’re looking for a Property Assistant to provide excellent administrative support to our Property team, who support our busy Rehoming centres with all things property, from reactive repairs to major refurbishments.

What does this role do?
As Property Assistant, you’ll:

• be the first point of contact for the team, supporting our Rehoming centre teams with queries related to their sites and repairs, escalating where appropriate to other colleagues in the team,
• deliver high quality administrative support to the team, from raising purchase orders and arranging travel, to administering our repairs ordering system, Infraspeak,
• support with administration around contractors, such as issuing contracts and drafting meeting minutes,
• support with the planning of regular meetings and site visits.

This is a part time role for 17.5 hours per week, across 2.5 days. The current working pattern for the role includes Mondays, with flexibility across the other days.

Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for Tuesday 25th November 2025 and will take place on Teams.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need some experience in an administrative role, with excellent IT skills. About the Role

Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, you will provide in-house clinical and pathological laboratory services, interpret results and communicate relevant findings to the clinical veterinary teams and other relevant teams or personnel.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out routine haematology, biochemistry and endocrinology on blood samples submitted by the veterinary teams and promptly highlighting abnormal results.
• Carrying out routine faecal parasitology on faecal samples submitted to the laboratory for intestinal parasites, liver fluke and lungworm.
• Monitoring the worm burden of charity donkeys by regular testing of a representative sample as determined by the Research Department.
• Processing blood and faecal samples from rehomed donkeys, private donkeys, holding bases and Ireland as part of an advisory service.
• Performing PCR tests on a variety of bodily fluid and tissue samples submitted for donkeys and mules with suspected infections and reporting the results to the case Veterinary Surgeon.
• Providing laboratory-based support to research and veterinary team projects.
• Supporting the Laboratory Manager in the training of new staff and the teaching of students and visitors.

• Previous biological laboratory experience.

Financial accounting
•Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with SORP 2015.

•Ensure annual statutory accounts are finalised and submitted to Companies House and the Charity Commission by the appropriate deadlines.

Job Purpose

This role is critical for delivering activities with our prestigious corporate supporters while simultaneously building an impactful alumni community. The postholder will join Ada during an exciting phase of growth and will be responsible for both stakeholder management, volunteering and events and ensuring former students and apprentices are supported in their career progression and engagement through the #alwaysAda alumni programme. The Events team sit within the wider Insight & Strategic Development team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK).  The purpose of the Insight and Strategic Development team is to deliver both long term and tactical insight that is grounded in a deep understanding of our audiences. The Events team lead on the development and delivery of a wide range of events that stretch across the whole organisation. The key aims of the team are to ensure a consistent, professional, and highly engaging supporter experience whether through direct delivery or through consultation with teams looking to deliver events on their own.

The Events Officer will work closely with the Events Manager in the development and delivery of a first-class events programme for Alzheimer’s Research UK, ensuring a consistent, professional, and highly engaging supporter experience. This role involves management of events, as well as supporting other teams across the organisation on their events scoping, planning and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the development, management, delivery and evaluation of events within the Events Calendar, including meetings, dinners, receptions, webinars and other events as required.

· Support in management and delivery of events managed by other members of Events team as required.

· Work alongside the Events Manager and the conference working group on developing, management and delivering of the Research Conference.

· Work alongside the Events Executive to ensure the Events inbox is utilised and RSVPs are responded to in a timely manner
