About Finance at Hope into Action
The Finance function of Hope Into Action is small team comprising the Finance Lead, the Finance Administrator and a volunteer reporting to the Head of Operations. It is largely paperless and supports our 42 staff with accounts payable and receivable functions. It works in conjunction with the other departments to deliver timely, accurate and strategic financial information for both the Executive Team and the Board of Trustees.
About the role
The Finance Lead is a key role in enabling Hope into Action fulfil its vision of every church lovingly making a home for those experiencing homelessness.
The role is broad ranging from monitoring the Finance inbox to posting transactions on our Xero accounting system and producing the monthly management accounts within our target of 10 working days from the month end
In addition, you will support the year end work by producing the schedules required by auditors, take a lead in the annual budgeting process, produce the biannual investor statements and compile the gift aid returns.
You will be expected to meet regularly with budget holders to help them achieve their targets and/or devise a plan to bring them back on track.

You will be adaptable and equally comfortable with bank reconciliations as writing a commentary on the management accounts. Homes are now available for a wide range of people experiencing homelessness: people in recovery from addiction, people sleeping rough, women and children fleeing domestic violence, people coming out of rehab, former prostitutes, refugees, those suffering mental health issues and survivors of human trafficking.
Roughly, 50% of our homes are in our ‘line-managed cities’ (Peterborough, Norwich, Nottingham, Cambridge), the other 50% are found across a further 30+ towns which we franchise into.

The salary band for this role is £40,000 - £46,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

Context and purpose of role
At the heart of the Ramblers lies our community of over 100,000 members and supporters, enabling us to fulfil our charitable mission across the length and breadth of Great Britain.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of excellent supporter service, coaching and empowering the Member and Supporter Experience Officers to meet the needs of our supporters. You will play a key role in fostering a positive experience for supporters, managing relationships with third-party suppliers, and driving continuous improvements across processes and systems. Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Coaching
- Manage the Member and Supporter Experience Officers, providing the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent supporter service through tailored training and coaching.
- Lead regular check-ins and team huddles to review progress, share updates, and address any challenges or blockers.
- Support the monitoring of quality and productivity using satisfaction ratings, and performance measures. Take remedying actions, such as further training or support.

Supplier and Project Management
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, including our payment processor, and fulfilment centre. Be responsible for briefing them on new projects and setting up procedures.

- Develop and maintain a framework for monitoring the quality of supporter interactions across all touch points and teams through call monitoring, complaints and compliments reporting, surveys, mystery shopping, satisfaction feedback and other performance measures. Where needed, work with relevant managers in other teams to develop solutions.
- Regularly review the quality of interactions handled by team members (e.g., through spot-checking emails, calls, and case resolutions), offering constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Cross-Team Collaboration and Advocacy
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to build and maintain knowledge bases that can be used by all teams to respond to queries and concerns, and to support teams in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

The organisation:
We are excited to be working with an inspiring international development charity who have a particular focus on children to find them a Fundraising Project Manager for an 8 month contract. They are looking for an experienced project manager who has worked within a fundraising environment. You will be responsible for keeping strategic projects on track, working with colleagues both in the UK and in-country. With meticulous attention to detail, this full-time role will focus the day to day running of these projects, ensuring stakeholders are held accountable, actions are delivered, and KPIs and Budgets are accurately reported and achieved.
You will be responsible for:
- Be responsible for the administration of the projects, including accurate and thorough recordkeeping, detailed project plans with timeframes, KPIs, and financial targets
- Maintain overview of delivery of the project and lead the continuous planning and prioritisation of project implementation, managing interdependencies effectively.

- Strong skills in database management and problem solving.
