As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 56,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at one of our IntoUniversity centres in Nottingham. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Salary

£36,400 per annum.

Main purpose of post
 To provide effective administrative support across the organisation, which will
include minute taking and completion of expenses.
 Perform administrative tasks related to HR processes, to ensure the efficient
delivery of HR services and the accurate maintenance of employee records.
Requiring the candidate to be organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle
sensitive information with confidentiality.
 Work on administrative projects and time-limited pieces of work to help
improve systems and processes.
 Support colleagues from all different departments with increased activity at
key times of the year, such as fundraising campaigns i.e., Christmas campaign,
the governance meeting cycle and supporting our events.
 Providing reception cover at our Support Centre, Cavendish Centre and Charity
Hub when required.
What you do
Administration
You will support the whole organisation with a range of administrative tasks
which will include:
 Completing minutes for key meetings.
 Processing of Expenses on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
 Arranging room bookings both internally and externally.
 Support with co-ordinating organisation wide meetings i.e., monthly staff
meetings, away days, including booking venues and arranging catering.
 Supporting with governance committee cycles, preparing documents and
reports as required.
 Inputting data into relevant systems accurately and in a timely manner.
 Dealing with enquiries from patients, donors, supporters, service providers
and volunteers as required in a timely and effective manner.
 Provide general administrative support to the wider team as required.
 Taking donations in any of the Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.
 Support with the administration of our grants programme, including
preparing and issues letter to grant applicants as instructed, updating and
maintaining grant budget spreadsheets.
You will work on time limited ad hoc projects, which could include:
 Creating and implementing new processes, including building templates /
documentation / matrixes.
 The build-up to / during and/ or after a campaign / or event.
HR Support
You will provide support to the HR Manager which will include:
 Maintaining and update employee records.
 Assist in the recruitment processes (posting job ads, scheduling interviews,
communicating with candidates).

 Support with preparing HR documents, such as onboarding paperwork, and
employee letters.
 Coordinate new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
 Organize training sessions and maintain training records.
 Assist with HR projects such as employee engagement programs.
Cover Support
You may be asked to provide cover on the front of desks of one of our sites:
Cancer Support Centre, Northumberland Road, our Charity Hub, Whitham Road
or Cavendish Centre, Wilkinson Street which will include:
 Meeting and greeting visitors including supporters and patients and acting as
their first point of contact for any queries.
 Dealing with telephone, email and postal enquiries across the organisation
 During cover period, you may be required to open and close the patient
spaces, as part of a wider team rota.
 Booking in and logging patients onto the relevant records and databases to
provide accurate data.
 Sending appointment reminder calls/texts/letters to clients as required.
 Co-ordinating the Transport service, including supporting and co-ordinating
the volunteer drivers.
 Managing the consumables within this patient space and ordering
replacement stock as and when required.

Finance Manager 
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join the growing Reaching Higher team and bring our finance function fully in-house. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented professional who will play a pivotal role in ensuring strong financial systems, accurate reporting, and sound financial planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in financial management and governance, budgeting and forecasting, payroll and pension oversight, and the ability to provide clear strategic insight and analysis to support organisational growth and sustainability.

Purpose of this Role

Our finance functions are currently partially outsourced to an external contractor. Our income has grown significantly over the past five years and our Board have now decided to employ a Finance Manager and bring financial expertise in-house. In this new position as the Finance Manager at Reaching Higher, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning, payroll and pension management, and financial governance and compliance. You will support all aspects of Reaching Higher’s work and development through ensuring strong financial systems. 

You will work closely with our team to ensure that all day-to-day finance requirements are met, including accurate grant finance monitoring and reporting to multiple funders. You will also work closely with our senior leaders and board to build the charity’s financial resilience and the financial awareness of our wider team.

You will work closely with the Executive Assistant & Administrator and report to the Executive Director, as well as working closely with the Executive Team, Treasurer and wider Board. 

About Reaching Higher 

Reaching Higher is a youth organisation which works with over 2000 young people aged 9-21 each year across Croydon and surrounding boroughs. Developed in partnership with local churches, we are a youth-led charity with a Christian ethos and this role is restricted under basis of faith.We have a particular emphasis on providing mentoring support to young people and supporting their development as leaders. We have established strong links with key local, London and UK-wide organisations and our approach leads us into regular working contact with partner schools, community groups and churches.

Qualification

Working within the Individual Giving team, you’ll have a varied role managing and supporting the delivery of supporter-centric fundraising appeals which will recruit, retain and/or develop supporters across the cause-led, gaming, in memory and legacy programmes. These appeals will include utilising online and offline channels such as direct mail, organic and paid social advertising, email, private sites, SMS and telemarketing.

What you’ll do

Hamelin is seeking a passionate, self-motivated and confident coordinator to support our expanding Ability Works project. In this diverse role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring our individuals meet their goals and create a lasting impact in our communities as well as being the first point of call for new individuals accessing the service.

Ability Works - This initiative focuses on enabling adults with learning disabilities and autistic people to gain meaningful and fulfilling paid employment. The project thrives on outcomes, motivation and a can-do approach.

This role is crucial in making sure we deliver exceptional service, stay compliant, and run our project efficiently— whilst ensuring our mission, vision and values are not compromised. 

The Employment Support Coordinator will regularly meet with participants to listen, offer support and help them identify their best job match, reflecting their skills and aspirations.

In your day-to-day role, you will be striving to build, expand and strengthen the project whilst working closely with the Employment Manager to ensure all key performance indicators and any project targets are met. The role is responsible for onboarding individuals into the project as well as delivering face-to-face mentoring, work experience in and outdoors and coaching.

Project Skills:

• Support with the daily operations of the project scope.
• Supporting individuals through CV production, profiling, interview techniques, attending interviews, workshops, job clubs and managing their health at work.
• Adhere to the strategies to grow and enhance the projects, meeting the ever-changing needs of those we support.
• Identify skills gaps for participants and offer Asdan short courses to support development.
• Building relationships with community partners including DWP, Social Care and prescribers, and other charities and government organisations to gain referrals for the project.
• Sourcing job opportunities for your participants through regular contact with key local employers.

Teamwork:

• Work in partnership with Hamelin’s service offer, especially the Links service and Opportunity Center.
• Ensure the project remains a motivated team that aligns with our values and goals.
• Report on the performance of the current project, providing feedback and support to ensure high standards of care and efficiency.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

• Follow Hamelin’s policies and procedures to maintain best practices and regulatory standards.
• Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, including gathering feedback from project participants and colleagues to keep improving our service delivery.
• Engage with and become involved with continuing self-development.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Identify, build and maintain strong relationships with project participants, families, local and health authorities representatives, and other key stakeholders.
• Represent the Charity and service at meetings, events, and forums, advocating for the needs and rights of those we support.
•  Work closely with other teams and services within the charity to ensure a unified approach to care and support.

Business Development:

• Identify and exploit opportunities for expanding the service, from new partnerships and funding sources both inside and outside health and care to innovative care models.
• Prepare and present feedback and data when required, to the Employment Manager.
• Lead marketing and promotion of the service, boosting awareness. interest and attracting new project participants.

About You

It’s essential that:

• You have at least two years’ experience within a coordination/administration service for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• You have a proven track record of successful project administration.
• You hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
• Be ready to work flexibly, which could include weekends and bank holidays. You might also be asked to work in different services as needed.

Hours of Work:  37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00 with some flexibility

Location: Head Office is in Cardiff however the successful applicant can be based anywhere across Wales as we have offices in multiple locations and remote-working can also be facilitated.

Purpose of Role

To work within the Contracts and Planning team supporting the delivery of the Trust, Foundation and Statutory Programme. The role is responsible for liaising with teams across the organisation to develop funding bids which meet the needs of the organisation and prospect research, income monitoring and reporting requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Work with operational teams to develop funding applications to meet agreed income targets to help fund core activities and priority projects.

2. To develop and maintain a list of suitable, well researched prospects and ensure that opportunities for funding are not missed by maintaining a suitable pipeline.

3. Regular review of income pledges and received, and the funding pipeline, reporting progress and risks to manager.

4. Liaise with relevant project staff to coordinate and submit monitoring and evaluation reports to funders.

5. Ensure all reporting requirements are met in line with agreed deadlines.

6. To ensure that all relevant administration is recorded accurately on the fundraising CRM and shared team databases.

7. To monitor payment dates and ensure payments are received when expected.

8. Build and maintain relationships with funders, helping them to understand the impact of their support.

9. Support the Contracts and Planning Team with other duties as required, contributing flexibly to wider team priorities and organisational needs
