Leukaemia UK – Our Charity

We are a ‘small but mighty’ charity with one big ambition: to stop leukaemia devastating lives. Over the next 10 years we want to help save and improve the lives of more people with leukaemia through finding and funding life-changing research and campaigning for change.

Despite progress in recent decades, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer every 16 minutes and survival rates are among some of the worst of any cancer.  And the physical and psychological impact can be lifelong. 

Our current 5 year strategy outlines our plan to increase our investment into ground-breaking world class research and policy development focused on improving access to kinder, more effective diagnosis, treatment and care for leukaemia and other blood cancers. To do this, we have embarked on a period of significant growth, investing strategically to grow our income, profile, influence, and engagement and impact.

We are seeking an experienced, driven and passionate Head of Public Fundraising to lead the mass fundraising team to achieve sustainable income growth over the coming years. We are looking for someone with energy and ambition, who can demonstrate strategic leadership to maximise fundraising opportunities across Community, Challenge Events, Regular Giving, Legacy and In Memory audiences, to grow our supporter networks and optimise supporter engagement and experience. The remit of this role also extends to include oversight of our CRM Database Manager and Supporter Care.

You will be part of an ambitious fundraising team driving growth across the portfolio, so we can fund more leukemia research and save more lives from this devastating disease. You will report to the Director of Fundraising, working alongside the Head of Philanthropy, and collaborating across the wider organisation to ensure mass fundraising aligns with our organisational priorities and values (Bold, Collaborative, Curious) and feels insight-driven, strategic and competitive in a crowded market place.

Leukaemia UK and You 

We have recently invested in growing our fundraising team so that we can fund more life-changing research to increase our understanding of leukemia as a disease, and accelerate the development of kinder, more effective treatments. This includes investment to grow the public fundraising team, develop new fundraising products, recruit new supporters, and increase legacy giving through targeted campaigns. 

We are also in the process of developing our new 5-year fundraising strategy, so you will be instrumental in creating an ambitious new plan to develop a diverse and sustainable mass fundraising portfolio, covering the key areas of donor acquisition, retention, and growth, with a focus on maximising our Challenge and Community events portfolio, and increasing Legacy, In Memory and Regular giving.  You will be responsible for developing and delivering a portfolio of products to grow voluntary income, whilst leading a newly expanded and ambitious team. And you will help shape our data strategy, working with the Head of Digital and other colleagues across the organisation to develop our digital fundraising strategy; embed usage of our CRM and ensure GDPR compliance. 

You will be results-driven with an appetite to innovate and drive continuous improvement, leading to increased conversions, deepened relationships, and long-term support.

Requirements - Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable experience of strategic leadership and oversight of a mass fundraising product portfolio.
• Proven experience of managing an engaging Community and Challenge Events fundraising portfolio.
• Proven experience of driving Legacy and In Memory giving to create a robust long-term pipeline. Experience of successfully developing and implementing legacy marketing strategies.
• Proven experience of applying the principles and techniques of Individual Giving / Direct Marketing within a multichannel, multi-discipline environment to deliver significant returns and supporter satisfaction, especially through supporter recruitment channels. 
• Experience of fully integrating a CRM database as a tool in the day-to-day work and running of a charity. 
• Demonstrable experience of managing a high performing team, focussing on creating a culture where people thrive as individuals and can be their best selves.
• Experience of managing multi-channel media campaigns by utilising print and digital channels including social media and email.
• Good experience of building effective relationships with internal and external partners, including creative freelancers, media and direct marketing agencies.
• Experience of working with, negotiating with, and managing outputs of external agencies and internal departments, including contractual obligations.
• Strong project-management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, creative development, and supplier relationships for fundraising direct marketing campaigns.
• Experience of setting and managing annual budgets, monitoring, and reconciling results and financial performance in income and expenditure. Providing associated narratives and monthly reforecasts.
• Proven experience of driving effective stewardship programmes to maximising supporter experience.

Requirements - Knowledge

• Excellent specialist knowledge of the principals and methods of Public Fundraising, including Challenge Events, Community, Legacy, In Memory and Individual Giving.
• Understanding of the effective development and use of supporter contact strategies, turning analysis and insight into high performance activity.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current digital fundraising trends, including social media marketing.
• High Level knowledge of Salesforce CRM databases and how best to utilise to steward supporters.
• Knowledge and experience of marketing processes and techniques across varied channels.
• High Level knowledge of legacy administration. 
• High Level knowledge and understanding of charity law in relation to legacy fundraising, GDPR, PECR, data protection and other relevant fundraising regulation.

Role specifics & Benefits       

• Hours: Full time hours are 37.5 Monday to Friday
• Location: We are very flexible! Our hybrid working policy is a minimum of two days per month in our London office unless it’s a role requirement to be in more frequently. Typically, we would expect the role holder to be in the office once a week, and certain roles within the team have this as a minimum requirement.

Thank you for taking an interest in applying for this role at Imperial Health Charity. We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Philanthropy Manager to join our team on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you will be part of a small yet passionate 
and dynamic team raising income from major donors, trusts, corporate supporters and statutory bodies. 

You will be responsible for identifying and securing new gifts at the five-figure-plus level as well as delivering impactful stewardship to your own portfolio of major supporters such as through bespoke reports, hospital site tours and invitations to 
exclusive events. 

As a Philanthropy Manager, you will lead on a variety of fundraising propositions that help our hospitals to achieve more for patients, families and the local North West London community. By collaborating with colleagues from across the charity and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, you will oversee campaigns from the early stages all the way through to delivery and evaluation. 

You will also be responsible for achieving your own targets and objectives, as well as providing ongoing monitoring against agreed milestones and KPIs. You will ensure compliance with fundraising best practice at all times in accordance with the 
Fundraising Regulator.

This role involves significant field-based activity and travel, including attendance at domestic and overseas events.

JOB PURPOSE

Demonstrating ParalympicsGB’s core values at all times, the Games Services Manager has responsibility for the design and delivery of key elements of ParalympicsGB’s Games Services Strategy and specific Games-related services and support whose outcomes will contribute positively to the fulfilment of ParalympicsGB’s vision, mission and objectives through: 

1. Working closely with the Head of Sport, exemplary management of identified areas of ParalympicsGB’s Games Services strategy and associated programmes, people and partnerships 

2. Excellence in delivery of identified core services including qualification and selection processes, accrediting the team, entering the team and managing team data  

3. Provision of world class advice and support to all Paralympic sports which contributes positively to a best prepared team at each Paralympic Games 

4. Provision of other input and support as a member of  ParalympicsGB’s  team support in the creation and delivery of an optimal Games-time environments

Games-time Role(s) All Games-time roles will be discussed and agreed for each Paralympic Games and will be dependent upon structure and delivery requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN DETAIL: 

Sport Directorate 

To support the on-going management of a cohesive and collaborative Sport Team environment which proactively embraces cross directorate / partnership working, additionally to: 

• Project management of ParalympicsGB’s Games Services Strategy within the Sport Directorate
• Provide regular updates to the Head of Sport regarding the implementation of the ParalympicsGB’s Games Services Strategy; identifying and communicating potential and actual risks in a timely manner 
• Proactively identify and develop key strategic performance partnerships both within the UK and overseas to support delivery of organisational objectives 
• Deputise for the Head of Sport in his / her absence at key meetings and activities on an agreed basis 
• Support to the Director of Sport and Head of Sport in delivering identified organisational objectives

Games Services Strategy 

Responsible for the management and effective delivery of identified elements of ParalympicsGB’s Games Services Strategy including: 

• Management of team data and the development of ParalympicsGB Base, including budget management. 
• Management of team qualification including performance and qualification tracking and reporting.
• Management of selecting the team including support to all Paralympic sports with selection policies and processes.
• Management of accrediting the team for the ParalympicsGB delegation, including collaboration with Games Operations in updating the Delegation Overview. 
• Management of entering the team including sport entries and liaison with National Governing Bodies and the Organising Committee.
• Management of the Qualification and Selection Panel. 

Team Development Strategy:

Provide support to the Director of Sport and the Head of Athlete Services for the following aspects of ParalympicsGB’s team development strategy:  

• Support the design of the ParalympicsGB team development strategy and lead on elements of programme delivery 
• Support the ParalympicsGB team Games recruitment project
• Lead the planning group for Team Development Programmes, including event and budget management 
• Lead the Team Member’s Agreement Working Group, including collaborative work with our legal partners. 
• Support delivery of the Team Leader Journey including workshops and induction programmes.

Miscellaneous: 

• To work collaboratively with Paralympic sports, UK Sport, Home Country Sports Institutes, British Olympic Association and other partners to ensure coherence in positioning, approach and impact of the Games Services Strategy and Games-specific services and support
• To ensure effective processes of monitoring, evaluation and quality control, and the observation of key performance indicators across all responsibility areas 
• To support colleagues within ParalympicsGB across all areas of the Championing Change strategy, as reasonably required by the Director of Sport 
• To attend all meetings, workshops and seminars, whether internal or external, regional, national or overseas, which are reasonably deemed to be relevant to the fulfilment of the demands and responsibilities of the role

This is a new role for Integrate UK, with the aim to bring in an experienced operations resource (initially on an interim basis) to support their CEO and Co-founder – allowing her to focus more of her time on their strategy, partnerships and growth and impact.

ROLE SUMMARY

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and ambitious fundraiser with experience in trusts, foundations and/or corporate fundraising to join upReach as we deliver our three-year strategy (2024–2027). The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of upReach through the development and stewardship of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, and by helping secure five and six figure grants and gifts.

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role will manage a portfolio of funders and help the wider team to meet income targets. You will work collaboratively across the organisation including the delivery and impact teams, finance, partnerships, and  Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

• Develop and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with key external contacts, including funders and volunteers.

• Champion and model a culture of outstanding relationship management. 

• Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate.

• Respond promptly to requests for information and action from supporters. 

• Report and disseminate the key issues to emerge from supporter feedback.

Fundraising

• Independently manage a portfolio of charitable trusts & foundations, and corporate supporters, giving at the five and six figure level. Steward these relationships delivering the highest levels of donor care. 

• Research and identify potential new funding opportunities to build the team’s pipeline. 

• Lead on the cultivation of your own pipeline of new funders, working creatively to find opportunities to engage organisations with our work. 

• Develop compelling, comprehensive funding proposals for trusts & foundations and companies, to renew existing partnerships and secure funding from new organisations. 

• Work closely with colleagues in the Data & Impact and Programmes team to prepare and write donor reports and other impact communications. 

• Contribute to the smooth delivery of philanthropic corporate partnerships including employee engagement, staff fundraising activities and volunteering.

• Prepare and thoroughly brief senior colleagues ahead of meetings with potential and existing funders. 

Financial

• Contribute to team fundraising income target (circa £2m) in line with the overarching strategy.

• Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

• Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

• Flag risks or opportunities that may affect income generation to senior team members.

Team Support and Collaboration

• Manage team members on our graduate programme (rotatees) on fundraising projects as required.

• Play a proactive role in facilitating a positive, collaborative and high-performing fundraising team culture.

• Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and planning sessions.

• Work with teams across the organisation to ensure fundraising plans align with organisational needs and priorities.

Systems and Processes

• Maintain accurate and up to date records on the CRM to enable effective donor, supporter, supplier and volunteer relationship management. 

• Comply with the organisation’s data protection obligations, charity law and other legal requirements.

Other

• Continue to develop fundraising skills and knowledge, including keeping up to date with best practice and sector trends.

• Carry out additional fundraising and administrative tasks as needed to help the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful, it is anticipated that you will have experience working in a fundraising role within a charity or similar environment. The ideal candidate should display these skills: 

• Significant experience working in a fundraising or similar role within a charity or nonprofit setting, to include writing funding proposals and stewardship reports. 

• Knowledge of high value fundraising techniques including a clear understanding of prospecting, cultivating, securing and managing partnerships.

• Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and oral, with the ability to turn complex ideas into concise and effective cases for support.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 

• Able to manage a varied workload and balance conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.

• Confidence working independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Some familiarity with data protection, GDPR and good practice in donor stewardship.

• A desire to learn, grow and develop a career in fundraising.

A Rocha UK is a unique Christian nature conservation charity, mobilising Christians and churches to care for the natural world. We are the UK member of the international A Rocha federation of Christian conservation charities, with sister organisations in 24 countries.  A Rocha UK has a staff of 25 and many volunteers. We run nature conservation activities on our two reserves, advise a national network of conservation partners, inspire Christians to protect nature and act on climate change through our Wild Christian scheme, and run the popular Eco Church scheme for local churches. Purpose of role: 

Increasing and diversifying the sources of funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Legacies Manager will play a key role identifying potential granting bodies, writing and submitting bids, and managing reporting on grants from a range of sources, including  large foundations, and Church denominations.  In doing so, they will work closely with other staff, especially the CEO, programme staff, and other members of the fundraising team. They will also manage occasional legacies and, as capacity allows, develop a proactive legacy promotion programme. The successful candidate will have previous experience securing funds from trusts, as well as excellent writing skills, an interest in the environment and an active Christian faith. The Role

As a Building Surveyor, you will lead and support the surveying, maintenance, and refurbishment of a wide variety of buildings and structures across our estate.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver condition surveys, oversee refurbishment programmes, and manage maintenance works on everything from residential lodges and listed bridges to ornamental gates and water features.

About You

• Experience of planning and listed building practise, the roles of Historic England and local planning authorities
