Kurapa Moyo
Contextualising wellness to the realities of African women through community, care and intention
At Kurapa Moyo, we address the critical gaps in mental health and wellness advocacy across Africa, focusing on the unique challenges faced by youth, women, and marginalized communities. The social and environmental challenges we tackle include:
-
Stigma Around Mental Health: Cultural stigma prevents many individuals from seeking support. We work to normalize conversations around mental health and provide accessible resources to empower individuals to prioritize their well-being.
-
Youth Mental Health Disparities: Many young people, especially in underprivileged settings, lack the tools and safe spaces to process mental health challenges. We create programs that educate and equip youth to become advocates for their mental wellness and their communities.
-
Workplace Wellness for Women: African women often face intersectional barriers, including gender bias and workplace burnout. We design initiatives that promote holistic wellness, encouraging work-life balance and resilience-building practices.
-
Trauma and Collective Healing: The lingering effects of historical and social trauma require intentional spaces for healing. Through programs like creative transcendence journeys, we focus on collective recovery, fostering communities that thrive emotionally and mentally.
Our mission is to cultivate a culture of care and resilience, breaking barriers to wellness and inspiring sustainable change.
At Kurapa Moyo, we believe that healing and resilience grow through intentional community, education, and advocacy. Our solution focuses on creating accessible, transformative programs and spaces that empower individuals and communities to address mental health challenges effectively. Here's how we achieve this:
-
Wellness Advocacy Training Program: This flagship initiative trains young leaders to become mental health advocates. By equipping youth with the knowledge, tools, and networks to create change, we foster a generation of proactive wellness ambassadors who can impact their communities.
-
Workshops and Healing Spaces: We design and facilitate workshops tailored to specific groups, such as women in the workplace and youth navigating mental health stigma. These sessions combine storytelling, evidence-based practices, and culturally relevant approaches to promote self-awareness and collective growth.
-
Creative Healing Journeys: Our creative transcendence programs use art, storytelling, and communal dialogue to address trauma and encourage emotional recovery. These journeys are particularly impactful in creating safe spaces for collective healing.
-
Digital Outreach and Campaigns: Leveraging social media and online platforms, we amplify mental health education through campaigns like “Mental Health at Work,” targeting stigma reduction and wellness promotion among African audiences.
-
Collaboration with Communities: We work alongside community members and organizations to co-create solutions, ensuring our programs address localized needs while promoting ownership and sustainability.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about amplifying wellness and making it as accessible as possible to African women.

Our focus as an organisation supporting refugees are three-fold:
Frontline evacuations, where conflicts are at their their most precarious
Emergency humanitarian aid deliveries in the most hard-to-reach areas in Ukraine, Syria and Turkey, as well as Greece and France.
Self-reliance projects such as an education centre in Jordan, or upskilling adult refugees into work abroad and in the UK via our "Vintage Emporium" charity shops.
You will gain invaluable experience as a senior marketeer, working directly with the Managing Director, spanning traditional and digital channels in disaster relief in an agile organisation that punches well above its weight, committing to saving the lives of people who otherwise wouldn't be saved. Your focus will be on marketing our AID SHOP, a groundbreaking humanitarian aid delivery system that allows the general public to turn their empathy for new crises (Gaza, Turkey & Syria earthquake etc) into effective immediate action.
When disaster strikes, or the season changes - survival items for escalating conflicts or disasters are changed and added to our website. You will communicate these updates via email campaigns and social media posts, the items are then 'purchased' by our supporters, with the shopping lists collated internally by you, then sent to our partners or volunteers on the ground who can purchase the physical items and deliver the survival items to vulnerable people in the most precarious and volatile regions, sometimes within minutes!
We also save greatly shipping and storage costs, and there is next to zero chance for unforseen delays at customs.
It is the most efficient way we know of giving in a crises - and is very efffective when marketed right (following either our set formulas, or bringing your own to experiment with). The best part? People know exactly where their money is going, so are justifiably much more generous!
So we need a volunteer (you!) to manage our marketing and communication efforts, ideally 2 days per week to:
*Post on social media (1 x reel / story per week, using a template to communicate the most needed survivial item of the week available for purchase in our "aid shop". 1 x Faceboo photo or video post)
*Update website as required
*Write 1 x compelling press release per week
*Update marketing / fundraising collateral
*Assist charity shops with creating leaflets and posters ad-hoc
*Organising our photos & videos by devising a tagging system
Requirements:
*Please note - if you only have experience in one of the areas needed (e.g. you have worked in copywriting and press roles, but not social media) then please still contact us, as the role can be shared!
2 years' experience in marketing and press roles preferred
Experieince using Canva
An adaptable and compelling copywriter essential
Impeccable grammar
Good attention to detail
Creative, flexible, adaptable
Some knowledge of refugee topics would be very useful but not essential
In return, you’ll work as part of a fun, flexible team of people with shared motivations and interests, and have full visibilty of the fruits of your actions, directly impacting and saving lives within hours of marketing to our database.
Please apply via the prompts here on CharityJobs by 28th February - we are actively interviewing so we may close the opportunity earlier.
We can't wait to hear from you!
We'll get back to everyone within two weeks.

Background
Indigenous peoples and local communities are grappling with the constant threat of displacement from their lands in Tanzania. The Maasai communities in Tanzania's Loliondo and Ngorongoro regions are currently facing significant challenges, primarily due to government-led eviction efforts aimed at designating these areas for conservation and tourism purposes. The violations of human and land rights have left thousands of people vulnerable and in need of urgent assistance. These evictions not only disrupt the livelihoods of the affected populations but also undermine their cultural heritage and traditional ways of life. As these communities are forced from their ancestral lands, many lose access to vital resources such as grazing lands, water, and shelter, leading to severe socio-economic hardships. Not1More is working with a partner organisation, Traditional Ecosystems Survival Tanzania (TEST), in Tanzania to support their essential fundraising, advocacy and community development activities.
Your Role
We are looking for a volunteer who can dedicate time to this role through to December 2025. You will be a part of a team that works directly with Tanzania’s indigenous Maasai, and help to make a difference in key areas such as protecting ecosystems, preserving Indigenous knowledge, community capacity building and advocating for Indigenous rights.
The main objective is to help TEST diversify and increase their funding sources. This will include connecting with other enthusiastic team members online to develop a fundraising strategy and implementation of a fundraising campaign, including identifying grant funding opportunities, assisting in the preparation and submission of grant funding proposals, and pursuing philanthropic and corporate partnership funding opportunities.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Ideally you are a compassionate, organised, and resilient individual with strong communication and relationship-building skills, along with a passion for the cause. A proactive, positive personality with a can-do attitude, would highly suit this role.
Previous experience with fundraising activities, preferably with an NGO is desirable but not necessary.
Mentoring
Support and mentoring to develop your skills will be available in this role as we aim to help you bring out our talents in this team.
Hours
As this is a volunteer role, time is flexible, but you would be expected to attend a bi-weekly check-in with someone from the Not1More team to ensure we are working in the same direction.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
Do you enjoy organising things and making this happen?
Are you able to volunteer a few hours a week?
Yes? We’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for admin volunteers to help with our daily operations. We have a variety of ways you can get involved:
- Responding to client requests and enquiries
- Fundrasing and partnership management
- Managing and updating company databases

- Maintaining internal, volunteer, and client records
- Drafting and mailing client correspondence and newsletters
- Organising events, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements
- Providing administrative support to other departments or projects as needed
- Performing other duties as agreed in advance
We’ve designed our volunteering programme to be flexible and adaptive to you. All volunteering is 100% remote and you’re supported fully by our team. You control what you do and how many hours per week you want to volunteer. Some roles may require an Enhanced DBS check. If your application is successful, we will ask for a donation towards the cost of your enhanced DBS check if it's required for your role. This cost is £20.60.
Here’s some further information on what’s needed:

Job Title: Volunteer Fundraising & Admin Assistant
Reporting to: Operational Director
Hours: 4 to 5 hours per week (we can be flexible and work with your schedule)
Willowbrook Farm Charity
Willowbrook Farm Charity exists to create nurturing educational and cultural spaces in the Oxfordshire countryside that are welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to communities who have been historically underrepresented in rural environments — including people from racialised backgrounds, neurodivergent individuals, and young people with diverse learning needs.
In partnership with Willowbrook Farm (www willowbrookfarm co uk), where we host our activities, we aim to build a nationally recognised centre of excellence that supports personal growth, wellbeing, and connection with nature. Through hands-on learning, community building, and cultural exchange, we empower individuals and groups to explore sustainable living, ethical land stewardship, and the transformative potential of nature-based education.
Our Values
Community
We foster a culture of care, connection, and belonging. We create space for people to come together in joy, learning, and mutual support, building relationships rooted in respect and shared purpose.
Stewardship
We honour the land as a living system and recognise that the wellbeing of people and nature are deeply interconnected. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of ethical and responsible stewards — who care for the earth, each other, and future generations.
Equity & Inclusion
We are dedicated to removing barriers so that people of all identities, backgrounds, and abilities can access and participate fully in experiences of farming, countryside living, and sustainability. We celebrate diversity and work to create welcoming spaces where everyone can thrive.
Connection with Nature
We centre our actions on a deep respect for the natural world. We believe in restoring and nurturing the bond between humans and nature, creating a place where both can flourish in harmony.
Job description
We are thrilled to welcome a Fundraising & Administrative Assistant to support our Operational Director at a pivotal time for our charity.
After a challenging period of inactivity due to the impacts of Covid, we are excited to embark on a new chapter, as we are ready to restart our activities in 2025 and to develop our projects and create a positive impact in our community.
This is a unique opportunity for those eager to be part of a project evolving from its early stages to the launching of new initiatives. The volunteer will have ample opportunity to learn about charity structure, develop skills within the third sector and grow with the charity.
We are looking for a passionate and articulate person to fill this role. We welcome applicants who may not have prior experience in the third sector but are enthusiastic and eager to learn. If you lack experience, be prepared to engage in significant training and development to succeed in this position. Please note that we can only accept applications from volunteers who are 18 years or older.
What this position entails
This role combines fundraising development and research efforts to secure essential funding for the charity, along with various administrative duties to assist the Operational Director in ensuring smooth operations.
Candidates should have a genuine interest in our mission and values, possess strong Internet research skills, and demonstrate a good command of spoken and written English. While we recognise the benefits of using AI for certain tasks, we cannot accept applications from volunteers who solely depend on AI for research and writing.
Preference will be given to volunteers who are experienced with social media platforms and can aid the Operational Director in creating and sharing content across our social media channels. Familiarity with Canva is a plus, although training will be provided.
You will work closely with our Operational Director, who will be your mentor, while taking the vital role of supporting our administrative and fundraising efforts, providing a great opportunity to make a lasting impact on our work.
As a volunteer-led charity, it’s essential for us to find someone who understands the importance of being part of our team and engaging in the growth of the charity. Therefore, we will prioritise applications from volunteers who are committed to a long-term partnership and want to be an integral member of our team.
What do you need to become our Fundraising & Admin Assistant?
Essential:
· Strong skills in Internet research.
· Strong computer skills and able to easily learn how to use new software and systems.
· Ability to undergo initial training required for the position.
· Be very organised, able to follow procedures and pay attention to details and deadlines.
· Experience with Social Media channels and ability to create content.
· Good command of spoken and written English is essential.
· Ability to work as part of a team and receive guidance.
Desirable
· Experience with CRMs (we use Salesforce) and Canva for design is an advantage. But training will be provided if necessary.
· Fundraising knowledge.
· Past experience in administrative or PA roles.
· Knowledge of how to work with budgets is an advantage.
By getting involved you will gain:
· A chance to expand your skills in charity strategic operations and fundraising.
· A chance to learn how to work with CRMs and manage campaigns.
· A chance to learn how to design and work with Social Media campaigns.
· A chance to learn about Project Management.
· This is an excellent opportunity for professionals eager to utilise their talents to address community needs and contribute to reducing inequality.
· Additionally, this is an excellent starting point for those wanting to work in the third sector but lacking the knowledge and experience.
Location: Fully Remote. But we welcome those who wish to come and visit the farm at least once to understand more about us.
Commitment:
The estimate of time needed is 4 to 5 hours a week, and we welcome those volunteers that can offer more, although it is not a requirement for the role. We can be flexible and work with you to find hours that fit ours and your schedule - all help is much appreciated!
As a volunteer-led charity, we prioritise volunteers who want to become part of our team of volunteers rather than those looking for a temporary assignment, as this role will involve a substantial amount of training and development. Therefore, we won’t accept applications from volunteers who cannot commit to at least 5-6 months with us.
How to apply:
Please send your CV and cover letter demonstrating your relevant experience and why you would like to get involved with our charity.
Interviews will be scheduled as the applications come in. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application.
If we find some great candidates, we may close the vacancy earlier than the application deadline mentioned. So don't delay - apply today!
Job Notes:
The volunteer acknowledges their responsibility to perform their tasks diligently and to promptly inform their line manager of any concerns that may arise during their volunteering period. Given the time commitment and training required for this position, we regret to inform that we cannot provide references for volunteers who serve less than three months with us.
Please, tell us why you would like to support our cause and a brief if your experience.

Job Title: Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser
Reporting to: Operational Director
Hours: 4 to 6 hours per week (we can be flexible and work with your schedule)
We are thrilled to welcome a Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to support our Operational Director at a pivotal time for our charity.
After a challenging period of inactivity due to the impacts of Covid, we are excited to embark on a new chapter, as we are ready to restart our activities in 2025 and to develop our projects and create a positive impact in our community.
This is a unique opportunity for those eager to be part of a project evolving from its early stages to the launch of new initiatives. The volunteer will have ample opportunity to grow with the charity.
We are looking for a passionate and articulate Fundraiser with experience in focusing on Trusts & Foundations.
What this position entails
Will be working and managing a team of three fundraising assistant volunteers who will also support our charity with Social Media activities. We are looking to recruit a talented and driven individual to join us and help to develop our Trust and Foundations fundraising programme as we are walking towards restarting our activities this year.
The key focus of the role is:
· Work towards developing a warm portfolio of donors, including large multi-year funders, seeking to extend their support wherever possible through close relationship fundraising.
· Researching, exploring and securing new business opportunities.
Main areas of responsibility:
· Work closely with the Operational Director, Volunteer Marketing Manager and Volunteer Fundraising and Admin Assistants to develop innovative and persuasive proposals aimed at acquiring new partnerships and supporters.
· Thank funders promptly and ensure that regular progress reports and updates are received by supporters as and when required.
· Develop creative and exciting stewardship plans to enhance the long-term relationship between Willowbrook Farm Charity and our funders.
· Work on the fundraising cycle to identify new prospects securing new income.
· Identify new potential funders and match them to WBFC work.
· Prepare and submit high-quality funding proposals and budgets in accordance with timetables and application criteria.
· Maintain accurate records, analysis and reporting of new business secured.
What do you need to become our Fundraising Coordinator?
Essential:
This role would suit a candidate with a good understanding of the charity sector and
proven success in fundraising from trusts and foundations, along with a superb ability to write with flair and creativity, as well as the verbal presentation skills to match. We are looking for a motivated team player to join our exciting and new team of volunteers. If you are seeking personal development and the opportunity to take the next step in your trust fundraising career, this could be the role for you.
By getting involved you will gain:

· Additionally, this is an excellent starting point for those wanting to progress in their fundraising career and see projects developing from early stages.
Location: Fully Remote. But we welcome those who wish to come and visit the farm at least once to understand more about us.
Commitment:
The estimated time needed is 4 to 6 hours a week, and we welcome those volunteers who can offer more, although it is not a requirement for the role. We can be flexible and work with you to find hours that fit ours and your schedule - all help is much appreciated!
As a volunteer-led charity, we prioritise volunteers who want to become part of our team of volunteers rather than those looking for a temporary assignment. Therefore, we won’t accept applications from volunteers who cannot commit to at least 5-6 months with us.
