We are seeking a full-time Training and Development Associate to develop, pilot and deliver a range of training programmes in 2026. These programmes will be developed from the findings of two key research reports from 2025. Our flagship Shattered Britain report outlined the seven segments of Britain today, while our Progressive Activists report delved deeply into this segment’s views and beliefs. The training programmes aim to:

• Equip Progressive Activists with the tools and strategies to build broad coalitions and campaign effectively informed by deep knowledge of public opinion.

• Help leaders and boards manage progressive, values-driven workforces, ensuring alignment between organisational mission and staff culture while maintaining effectiveness.

• Help managers understand the diversity of public opinion on a range of issues, as well as wider trends and drivers of public opinion, and learn how to use the seven segments to understand and reach new audience

The Training and Development Associate role involves the following indicative duties:

• With the Deputy Director (Strategy and Development), launch More in Common UK’s training arm, ensure all training programmes are high-quality, impactful and - in the long-run - commercially self-sustaining.

• Develop More in Common UK’s training programmes, creating a suite of training materials with advice and support from external partners and contractors where necessary.

• Deliver directly, and support others to deliver, at least 20 in-house training programmes and 6 ‘open-access’ training programmes in 12 months.

• Train over 700 individuals in 12 months, with more than 90% rating the training highly effective.

• Design and implement a robust approach to monitoring and evaluation for our training programmes.

• Ensure all training programmes are underpinned by robust, up-to-date research from More in Common’s work.

• Contribute to More in Common’s wider thought-leadership and political engagement.

• Ensure that More in Common’s UK outputs are of the highest quality and genuinely lead to impact in line with our mission.

• Lead the marketing and outreach to external partners and organisations to secure new business and customers for the training programmes.

• Work with colleagues to build opportunities for training into larger research projects with external partners.

• Design and deliver webinars and short insights products to disseminate our latest insights and research to partners and the wider eco-system.

• Support and collaborate with colleagues on a range of quantitative and qualitative research projects for More in Common’s own thought leadership work and our client/partner work.

• Represent More in Common's work and values to a wide variety of external organisations, acting as a public face for people to learn about our research.

The Training and Development Associate will work closely with the UK Team across our core areas of research, communications, partnership, and client work. More in Common UK is a small team with a start-up culture where everyone is expected to execute a range of responsibilities, though the Training and Development Associate will focus on launching and making a success of More in Common’s new training arm.

We have initial funding to appoint a Training and Development Associate on a fixed-term (12-month) contract. However, subject to the success of the training programmes, their potential commercial viability and/or further funding, our hope would be to extend or make permanent the role.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Considerable experience in delivering high-quality training programmes. 

• Experience in designing or updating training materials, particularly drawing on robust research.

• Experience designing monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks for training.

• Strong public speaking and facilitation skills

• Some experience with and understanding of quantitative and quantitative research methods.

• Experience producing written content that is engaged with wider political or social debates, and grounded in robust research.

• A deep understanding of UK politics and the role research and communications play in shaping public policy outcomes. 

• An ability to manage projects from start to finish, handling both budget and time management, and dealing with large and complex clients. 

• An entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of spotting opportunities to secure new work.

• The ability to manage tasks and projects independently and in a team - from inception through to delivery and evaluation 

• A hunger for disseminating More in Common’s research to new audiences.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To develop, implement and evaluate the Banter Project youth service in partnership with adopted young people in Northern Ireland.  These young people range in age from 14-25 years and live throughout Northern Ireland.  The role will primarily work with the project participants, but has additional relationships with community organisations, educational establishments and employers to ensure that all project goals and outcomes are efficiently and effectively met.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To lead the development and delivery of all elements of the Banter Project adopted young people’s service within Northern Ireland in a fun, interactive, interesting and an ability appropriate manner.

• To support the project participants to play an active role in the design and implementation of a programme of monthly activities for adopted young people. Sustaining and developing a monthly social hub, supporting the development of basic life-skills, and preparation for opportunities in further education, training, employment.

• To support a Youth Advisory Group (YAG) in its role to enable adopted young people to steer the Banter Project while developing skills which promote independence, personal development, social and life skills, leadership, and community involvement.

• To organise and supervise the work of the Youth Services Support Worker to deliver the Banter Project. 

• To provide opportunities to connect with, and signpost to, relevant services, particularly those who work with care experienced young people.

• To develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation to review individual goals, track progress and impact, via data and analysis of outcomes to assess effectiveness and areas for improvement.

• To record service activity using the electronic data management systems to collate in preparation for reporting and learning opportunities.

• To gather output and outcome data from the Banter Project service in accordance with the quality assurance systems within AUK. 

• Work with other staff members to deliver a high-quality project for our adopted young people and their adoptive parents.  Work as part of a team to contribute to a positive work environment and shared goals. 

• To attend internal and external training/meetings as appropriate, to remain connected with broader adoption issues, relevant policies, working practices, and network with other youth work providers in Northern Ireland.

We’re looking for a confident and compassionate LGBTQ+ Project Worker to join our supported housing team working across Brighton and Eastbourne.

This isn’t just a support role, it’s a frontline position that requires emotional resilience, excellent communication skills, and a grounded understanding of what it means to work in a supported housing environment. The people we work with often face intersecting challenges including mental health, trauma, identity-based discrimination, and housing insecurity. Your job will be to help them navigate these realities and move toward independent living with dignity, strength, and stability.

You’ll need to thrive in a role where no two days are the same. From conversations around rent and cleaning routines to complex safeguarding issues or mental health disclosures, you’ll be expected to step in calmly and confidently, without shying away from challenge.

We’re seeking someone who builds positive working relationships with both residents and housing providers, can adapt to rapidly changing needs, and brings clarity, kindness, and consistency to their work no matter what’s going on that day.

While this role is based in Brighton, we operate as one team across both Eastbourne and Brighton. From time to time, you may be expected to provide cover at our Eastbourne accommodation when needed.

The advertised salary includes London Weighting. As such, you will be responsible for covering the cost of travel to London for our monthly all-staff meetings. If additional travel to London is required as part of your role, these costs will also need to be covered by you.

Key Responsibilities

· To provide a high quality, flexible and responsive support service to LGBTQ+ people, supporting them for independent living or suitable alternative housing through the provision of 1-1 support sessions and group work.

· To assess the individual needs of each person and provide a bespoke support plan.

· To ensure that effective service user participation mechanisms are in place.

Main Duties of the Post

Support Sessions

· To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our supported accommodation service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.

· To meet service users regularly to provide structured support, in relation to LGBTQ+ and Housing specific issues, such as gender identity pathways, mental health services, health issues, safeguarding, liaising with the professional network.

· To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing supported accommodation to develop and review individual support plans and risk assessments.

· To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.

Financial Support

· To assist service users in maximising and managing their income including universal credit, ESA, PIP and Housing Benefit.

Semi-independent Living Support

· To work with service users to enable them to develop the life and social skills necessary to sustain their accommodation and prepare them for independent living.

· To assess individual service user’s suitability for independent accommodation.

· To act quickly to manage incidents and to advise, support and assist service users unable to maintain supported accommodation into more appropriate housing options.

Resettlement

· To support service users in the completion of application forms necessary to support move-on housing, including the private rented sector.

· To ensure that all service users are provided with information about local services whilst in supported accommodation and during their move on.

· To ensure all service users are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities in their home.

· To work with housing providers, both public and private, to negotiate move on options.

Groupwork, Consultation and Participation

· To work as part of a team in developing user participation.

· To identify and develop appropriate and flexible processes for consulting with our service users, via social media platforms, newsletters, events and workshops.

· To devise innovative and creative ways of involving LGBTQ+ people in the running of the schemes with an independent approach.

· Supporting our residents to participate in group and peer support and to access online support mechanisms.

· Facilitating and promoting an LGBTQ+ group work programme.

Other Duties

· To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work.

· To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information.

· To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation to funders and other key areas.

Essential Experience

Curator

Permanent, Full Time

£40,000 - £42,000 per annum

As a member of the curatorial team, you will be responsible for researching, understanding and communicating the Collections and their histories to connect visitors, wider audiences and communities to Waddesdon. You will participate in an ambitious and inclusive permanent display and exhibitions programme, and will work closely with the Senior Curator, Senior Collections Manager and other colleagues to plan and deliver the strategy for care, access and engagement for the Collections. You will contribute to the efficient running of the Collections Department, creating a sense of common purpose, encouraging innovative thinking and best practice and working within the line management structure to support junior and senior colleagues and the day-to-day running of the department.

You will participate in the wider strategy for Waddesdon and the RF as a whole and the representation of the Collections within it so that learning and skills are valued and Waddesdon’s curatorial work is recognized as an exemplar of excellence both nationally and internationally. You will work with a wide range of other departments and with external stakeholders and advisors and require good people and communication skills.

Key responsbilities include but not limited to:

• Become familiar with the whole Collection and develop research interests in specific areas which complement the existing curatorial skill set.  Aspects of the Collection which would benefit from particular focus include but are not limited to paintings (Dutch 17C paintings in particular), textiles, photographs, prints and drawings, books and sculpture)
• Undertake research as directed and lecture and publish on the history of Waddesdon and its collections and your personal research interests
• Participate in the planning and delivery of exhibitions, projects and permanent displays, leading on these as appropriate
• Help to develop, manage and deliver interpretation about the Collection in various forms (print and digital) and work with the curatorial and visitor services team to ensure that it is engaging and inclusive to a wide range of audiences
• Lead and participate in events and activities arranged by the Department and visits by groups and individuals to Waddesdon
• Work closely with the Education and Learning teams on the preparation of content for teaching and activities and with the Public Events teams on curatorial content as appropriate, for example for the Christmas displays
• Manage and undertake cataloguing projects on the Collections data base, working with the Collections Management and Archive and Records teams, including checking for duplicate records and for missing or inaccurate data

You will be a great fit if:

You have a relevant Undergraduate degree and 2-3 years’ experience in a museum, gallery, or historic house. You enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues, volunteers, researchers, and the public, with the ability to help with exhibitions, projects, and permanent displays.

You’ll become familiar with the Collection as a whole and develop research interests in specific areas. It is therefore important that your research and communication skills are well-developed so you’re able to lecture and publish on Waddesdon’s history.

You have a relevant Undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience and qualifiations, with a desire to expand your skills and working with varied 19th and 20th century collections. You are collaborative, engaged, and motivated, able to work both as a kay part in a small team and independently.

We’re seeking a Website Content Officer to join our Integrated Marketing and Media team. In this role, you’ll take the lead in managing and improving the content on our website, making sure it’s clear, accessible and meets the needs of our diverse audience.

Acting as the ‘voice of the user’, you’ll be responsible for publishing updates via our content management system (CMS), maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and accessibility across the site. You’ll oversee key areas, including the homepage, keeping information accurate, up to date, and easy to navigate.

You’ll work closely with teams across the Prostate Cancer UK to help shape their messages for the web, offering advice, guidance, and training where needed. Day to day, you’ll manage content schedules, review pages to identify improvements, and create or edit content to keep the site fresh and effective. You’ll also use digital analytics tools to monitor performance and suggest ways we can enhance the user experience.

As part of the Digital Marketing and Channels team, you’ll work closely with our email and social media teams to ensure our owned channels are aligned. You’ll lead on the delivery of our regular ‘News and Views’ articles in conjunction with our Strategic Communications team, and you’ll work closely with our Web Operations team to help identify and test new website features and fix technical issues. 

Please note internally this role is known as Digital Channels Officer – Web.

What we want from you

We’re looking for someone with solid experience in writing, editing, and proofreading web content to serve a specific audience. You'll be skilled in using content management systems (ideally Umbraco) to build and update web pages.

You’ll have the technical skills to author and edit basic HTML, as well as prepare and edit images for the web. A good understanding of interpreting website analytics, including experience with Google Analytics and search engine optimisation techniques, is essential. You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex analytics and technical details clearly and accessibly to colleagues who may not have a technical background.

In this role, you’ll need to manage priorities effectively and work well under tight deadlines. You’ll be confident negotiating and handling challenging conversations when necessary.  Staying up to date with current web tools and digital content trends will be a real advantage as we continually improve our site.

What the job involves

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it’s harming too many lives. At Prostate Cancer UK, one of our top priorities is funding research that leads to real change. It’s vital we do our best to make sure this research makes a meaningful difference to men’s lives, and that’s where you come in. 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Officer to help us deliver our funding schemes and patient and public involvement work.  This role sits in the Research Funding Team and will provide us with support across our grant funding schemes, ensuring we are following best practise in research funding. 

You’ll take responsibility for a small portfolio of active research grants, providing support and guidance to the researchers leading them. You’ll be a main point of contact for grant applicants, supporting them as they apply to us and will be responsible for running peer review. Using your understanding of research funding and administration, you’ll help make sure our funding schemes run smoothly and to time. You’ll work with colleagues to support patient and public involvement in research both in our review process and through our Patient Representative Network who help researchers make sure their work is focussed on the needs of men with prostate cancer.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Senior Research Officer who is passionate about research and has a desire to develop knowledge of prostate cancer. You’ll hold a biomedical degree (or a degree in a related science subject), or with equivalent experience gained in research funding, administration or the wider research sector.

You’ll already have a good grasp of how grant funding works with demonstrable experience of research administration and peer review. Confidence in interpreting complex scientific information is important, as you’ll be using this knowledge to find the right people to peer review the grant applications that are submitted to our schemes.  You’ll have experience of supporting scientific meetings, preferably research funding committees, and understand the importance of capturing accurate minutes to provide constructive feedback to applicants.

You're also an accurate record keeper with a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills. You're assured and clear in your communication, both written and verbal, and you're able to respond to a wide range of inquiries from researchers while always adhering to data protection and confidentiality best practices.  Experience of using Symplectic’s Grant Tracker or other grant management systems would be an advantage but is not essential.

We’re seeking a Customer Operations Coordinator to join our team!

 What the job involves
You’ll be joining the Gift Aid, Compliance and Fulfilment Team within Customer Engagement and Experience. Your main focus will be making sure our supporters feel valued and appreciated for their contributions, helping to build lasting relationships so they want to support us again. You’ll also play an important part in a new project to refresh how Prostate Cancer UK thanks its supporters.

Working closely with colleagues in Ecommerce, Fulfilment, and Compliance, you’ll help with admin tasks and manage incoming queries, with an initial focus on Trading. You’ll keep our CRM, Raiser’s Edge NXT, accurate and up to date through daily data input, following our policies, and other regulatory requirements. You’ll develop a good understanding of our activity calendar and how it affects our customers, build positive relationships with them, and act as their advocate internally and with our fulfilment house when needed.

We’re a busy, fast-growing department so we’re looking for someone who’s keen to learn with us and comfortable adapting to a rapidly changing environment.

 What we want from you
We’re looking for a customer operations coordinator who’s an excellent communicator, with genuine enthusiasm for building loyalty and delivering high quality customer experiences. You’ll be comfortable engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and able to build positive, professional relationships with ease. You’ll bring strong organisational skills to support complex and overlapping activity, using your own initiative when needed.

You’ll be able to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have experience of using a database to maintain and update accurate customer records, and you’ll feel confident handling a wide range of customer queries, knowing how to prioritise them and when to collate and feed insights back internally. You’ll be used to working collaboratively across several busy teams with a clear customer-first focus, and you’ll have a proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. You’ll also have experience of working in a customer-focused environment.

In September 2025 Oxford opened its new home for humanities, the state-of-the-art Stephen A.  Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. The Role

We are currently looking for three Team Leaders to join our Retail, Services and Operations team to launch and manage our new Superstore in York.

As a Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of one of the departments of the superstore. This includes leading a team of employees (shop assistants) and volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that employees, volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

You will need to be committed to creating a welcoming professional atmosphere and demonstrating the values of Yorkshire Cancer Research. You will also be a passionate and enthusiastic ambassador for the charity and its work.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Running the department commercially, including display and merchandising, stock management and generation, maintaining shop standards, layout of store and opening and closing of store. 

• Supporting the management team in delivering ambitious sales targets whilst maintaining shop standards, commerciality and compliance. 
• Assuming Duty Manager responsibility in the absence of the store management team.
• Opening and closing the store if required as duty manager and responding to alarm call-outs as a listed key holder if required.
• Working a flexible shift pattern to reflect the business needs including weekends and pre-retailing hours. 
• Ensuring the department is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and attractive window displays. 
• Ensuring that all charity policies, shop standards and operations procedures are communicated effectively to all retail assistants and volunteers and are maintained and followed consistently. 
• Line managing the Retail Assistants ensuring you develop and retain talent by conducting regular performance development reviews, implementing action plans, training, and supporting personal development and growth.
• Taking on leadership of employees across the whole store when acting as Duty Manager.
• Support in managing the sales and profit of the Superstore and where possible exceeding agreed targets across categories (Donated stock, cash, benchmark gift aid, average selling price, sell through, stock processing).
• Ensuring accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes. 
• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent but not essential or have experience in a similar role at a similar level Experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.
• Experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 
• Previous retail experience in the charity sector or commercial sector is desirable.
• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organised with good time management skills. 
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. 
• Demonstrably strong planning, guiding and motivation skills to successfully achieve targeted income are desirable.

Since it was set up in 2019, TAN has established itself as a thought leader on planning and transport matters, while providing hands-on support and advice to local communities seeking better transport solutions. It has successfully challenged government decisions and helped local communities fight off damaging road schemes. Some examples include schames that would have harmed Stonehenge World Heritage Site, South Downs National Park and Rimrose Valley Country Park in Liverpool.

TAN is currently supporting the Queensbury Tunnel Society, trying to stop the government blocking up an old railway tunnel so that it can be repurposed for a new greenway. It is also opposing the Lower Thames Crossing 'smart' motorway.
