Role overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Alumni Engagement team who provide support to an alumni base of almost 40,000 contactable alumni of the Sutton Trust programmes. These are generally young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds who move into highly competitive universities, courses and careers. The alumni community has grown rapidly over the past 3 years and now expects around 6-7000 new alumni to join each September. Engagement covers supporting their transition to university and into the workplace through communications, events and programmes. It also spans alumni volunteering, our Alumni Leadership Board, and working with our Development team towards alumni giving.

The role is dynamic and diverse, requiring you to be able to think strategically whilst devising and delivering on operational delivery plans, and we are looking for a confident and experienced team leader during a period of maternity leave.

This role is part of the Programmes Leadership Team and will work closely with the Director of Programmes, Head of Employability Programmes and Head of University Access & Digital on shaping the strategic direction of the team and its programmatic work. The role will also connect closely to the work of the Development Team as we look to devise and implement a segmented alumni giving scheme, as well as the Communications and Policy team, and may evolve to take on new projects over time.

Main duties

• Strategic leadership to alumni engagement, including:
  • Embedding alumni relations and programming across the organisation, ensuring alumni are considered or involved in all areas of the Trust’s work
  • Managing budget and project timelines to ensure projects are delivered effectively
  • Working with the wider programmes team to ensure a smooth transition for Sutton Trust beneficiaries between programmes and the alumni community

• Alumni Engagement and Volunteering:

Person Specification

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:

• Professional experience of alumni relations, or managing other similar membership communities, ideally within the education or charity sector.

Terms of Appointment

Purpose of role: 

Increasing and diversifying the sources of funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Legacies Manager will play a key role identifying potential granting bodies, writing and submitting bids, and managing reporting on grants from a range of sources, including  large foundations, and Church denominations.  In doing so, they will work closely with other staff, especially the CEO, programme staff, and other members of the fundraising team. They will also manage occasional legacies and, as capacity allows, develop a proactive legacy promotion programme. The Britain Palestine Project (BPP) is seeking a highly organised, motivated, and values-driven individual to join our small, dynamic team as a Fundraising and Administrative Assistant. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting BPP’s fundraising and operational systems. You will manage core administrative functions, maintain donor databases and financial records, support the Board of Trustees, assist with international fundraising trips, and help build strong relationships with our growing network of supporters and donors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update CRM systems (Salesforce) and financial records (Xero).
• Provide administrative support to the Board and working groups, including scheduling and minute-taking.
• Support donor communications including donor pitching presentations (PowerPoint), Gift Aid administration, and donor stewardship.
• Coordinate logistics for fundraising trips to the Middle East and manage follow-up actions.
• Assist in drafting supporter emails, organising events and webinars, and managing digital content.

The role

We are looking for an experienced part-time NEBOSH or IOSH qualified Health and Safety Manager, who will lead manage and develop our health and safety requirements and responsibilities around working outside and around water.

We have a health and safety management plan which following on from our Health and Safety audit, has outlined the framework for this role and what is needed to be implemented over the next 12 months.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Work with both Head of HR and Operations Manager on certain aspects of office Health & Safety with as and where necessary
• Project manage and deliver all requirements of the new created H&S Management Plan
• Work with managers on Construction Design Management (CDM) health and safety
• Track and ensure that risk assessments are being completed within teams for events and elsewhere where required in Thames21
• Work with HR and line managers to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) are created, updated and reviewed periodically
• Deliver the H&S induction session with new joiners when and where applicable
• Work with the Operations Manager to ensure vehicle checks are conducted in accordance with the vehicles policy, and that all drivers are trained in the use of the inspection checklists and all aspects of vehicle inspection.
• Compile a quarterly incident report to the Head of HR
• Manage the incident reporting system, escalating serious incidents (including risks) to senior management

• Manage a programme of safety audits to reporting these to the management team
• Manage and run the quarterly H&S group meetings and keep track of progress of actions that have been assigned
• Conduct training sessions on other related health and safety as and when required
• Other duties commensurate with the role

Background to Role

The Healthier Lifestyle team at Age UK Croydon offers a range of inclusive and accessible activities and events across the borough of Croydon combining exercise, and social engagement in a variety of local settings.  These sessions help reduce isolation, improve independence, prevent falls, increase fitness levels and manage health conditions.  They also provide social engagement and interaction, information and support around living with dementia, a safe and welcoming space for all to engage and relax.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager to lead our Healthier Lifestyle team which includes a team of 3 part-time Project Officers, one Dementia Support Officer, Dementia Project officer and a great team of volunteers. We want to reach younger older people to encourage “Act Now Age Well”

An important element of this role will be looking for opportunities to develop existing services and to introduce new services including some paid services. The Healthier Lifestyles Manager is a member of the Integrated Leadership team to support our One Organisation One team ethos for integrated working and holistic support for the older residents of Croydon.

• Oversee effective data recording for monitoring and reporting.

You will have a minimum of 3 years' experience at management level and will be working to deliver Tom’s Trust’s ambitious targets for trust and foundations income for the coming years and beyond. The post-holder will help to research and explore new avenues for funding and building a strong pipeline of new donors who have the potential to support the charity over multiple years. You will be building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at charitable trusts and corporate foundations and preparing and delivering targeted funding applications to those organisations.  You will be able to build upon and develop a compelling case for support for both the services we offer as a whole and for specific projects that reflect our work.
