The Senior Partnerships Manager (SPM) is responsible for overseeing the grant management of assigned grants, primarily a large grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as well as contributing to proposal development, representing AKF(UK) at various events and meetings of technical groups, and supporting AKF(UK)’s partnerships with ADB and others. The SPM will also support AKF’s global partnerships function. 

Grants Management

• Provide overall guidance, oversight, compliance and quality control and coordination for all components of the assigned grant portfolio (at the start, this will include one large ADB grant). The SPM will work closely with the in-country project management unit (PMU) to ensure the project(s) are delivered on-time and on-budget and proactively support the resolution of challenges as they arise.

• Support the preparation, review and feedback process on donor reports to ensure reports comply with donor requirements and are produced on time and to a high standard.

• Be an interface with the donor and communicate on a regular basis about implementation to maintain a solid relationship and to address queries or challenges effectively.

• Support the PMU in the contracting, management and oversight of consortium partners, and external service providers e.g., in monitoring, evaluation and audit.

• Provide regular updates to senior management regarding progress, risks and mitigation measures.

• Provide training and guidance to the PMU and implementing partners on ADB compliance and ensure all donor requirements are complied with, including procurement, environmental and social safeguarding.

• Take part in monitoring missions (as the security situation allows) and support monitoring and evaluation efforts.

• Work closely with finance teams in the UK and Afghanistan to ensure transparent, compliant and timely financial reporting and budget revisions as required.

• Provide technical assistance and advice in specified areas and provide training and tools to support project teams in overall grant management and quality control. 

Resource Mobilisation

• Liaise with Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and other Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) implementation units to identify new funding opportunities.

• Develop new funding partnerships and opportunities with ADB and other partners as relevant by leading concept/proposal design and development in coordination with country units.

Networking and building public awareness

• Establish collegial, mutually beneficial relationships and share knowledge and expertise within the AKF and AKDN as appropriate.

• Participate as a member of and provide support to the UK and Global Partnerships teams, including managing and contributing to processes related to resource mobilisation and grant management and mentoring partnerships staff.

• Collaborate with communications teams to develop stories, briefs, and other materials related to the grant portfolio.

• Develop positive working relationships with external stakeholders, particularly donor representatives and other NGOs.

Leadership and People Management

• Provide guidance and horizontal management to the PMU.

• Set the example of consistently high standards across the unit

• When relevant, play a leading role in the development of further concepts and proposals for ADB, in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders across country units.

• Filter the team and unit's documents ensuring improvements in standards of writing, presentation, content and context

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field highly preferable

Experience

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience with a minimum 4 years in a programme management role (preferably in NGOs). Field-level implementation or management experience is highly preferred.

• Proven grant management experience of complex projects, including a strong understanding and experience with meeting donor criteria in project design, reporting and monitoring/evaluation, environmental and social safeguarding, and other compliance matters.

• Experience with development bank funded programming, including with the Asian Development Bank, is highly desirable.

• Proven experience of managing multi-stakeholder partnerships, complex relationships and consortia projects.

• Experience in resource mobilisation, developing relationships with multilateral donors and developing and writing complex proposals is desirable.

• Experience of working within federated organisational structures and within matrix-style team structures.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of development bank operations, priorities, systems and processes highly desired.

• Knowledge and experience of gender sensitive results-based management and evaluation with particular attention to assessing gender equality results.

• Knowledge and experience of environmental and social safeguarding mechanisms and best practices.

• Understanding of fragile or post-conflict contexts, and ideally, the Afghanistan development context.

• Knowledge of disaster risk mitigation, livelihoods support, and/or Nature-based Solutions is an asset.

This is one of the most important roles within Shine Cancer Support. You’ll be overseeing and supporting Shine’s volunteers around the country, ensuring that they have what they need to reach as many young adults with cancer as possible. You’ll also work closely with Shine’s Programme Delivery Manager to deliver training and support programmes directly to young adults with cancer and healthcare professionals.

Location:  Hybrid, with two days per week at Shine’s offices in Blackheath, South East London or in Poole, Dorset.

Hours & salary:  Full time (35 hours per week). Salary range is £33,000 - £35,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

This is a one year contract to cover maternity leave starting mid/late January 2026.

Volunteer Support

• Work with Shine staff and facilitators to recruit, train and support new volunteers from across the UK.

• Deliver an annual plan for training and support, touching on issues such as outreach and fundraising.

Programme Delivery

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head of Communications and Networks will amplify The Politics Project’s voice, build strategic partnerships and strengthen collaboration across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You will lead on communications, stakeholder engagement and the continued development of the Democracy Classroom Network.

We are looking for someone with experience of a broad range of facilities management across multiple sites and the ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and with different needs.

Entry level Health and Safety qualification or working towards this is essential along with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and experience of carrying out assessments. 

Key Skills and Attributes:  

• Practical experience of a broad range of facilities work, including Hard and Soft Facilities matters across multiple sites. 

• Management of third parties’ contractors hired to complete facilities tasks, using method statements, risk assessments and a permit to work scheme. 

• Proven experience of improving supplier value through contract review, market research and contract negotiation 

• Entry level Health and Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or similar) and working towards NEBOSH qualification, with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and experience of carrying out Risk Assessments, DSE Assessments, etc.

About the role  

It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy. 

The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change. 

The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body, responsible for leading on and supporting the development of key projects within Emmaus UK and the wider federation.

This will include providing leadership to support Emmaus communities across the UK to prepare and respond to the introduction of the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act, you will require an understanding and commitment to best practice and legislative requirements related to the provision of supported housing, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into user friendly support, training, guidance and policies and procedures

The role will also provide a critical role in the implementation and delivery of Emmaus UK’s ambitious plans to seek registration as a provider of social housing. As a Floating Support Worker in our Young Persons Service in Greenwich, you’ll empower young people take charge of their lives and create lasting change. Every day, you’ll see the impact of your work - a young person gaining the confidence to manage their own home, building new skills, and taking steps towards the future they want for themselves. About Adolescent Health Study

The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records. There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.

Purpose of the post

The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, the postholder will oversee all financial operations, providing strategic insights to inform decision-making and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
This role is integral to supporting the organisation’s mission of advancing health research through effective financial stewardship, and it offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced finance professional to make a significant contribution within a mission-driven organisation.

Main responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning
• Develop and implement robust financial strategies to support the organisation’s strategic goals.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Support procurement and commercial processes, ensuring value for money and delivery assurance.

Financial Management, Reporting and Regulatory Compliance

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in the UK, specifically in relation to not-for-profit, charitable and research organisations.

The Role

What will I be doing?

As Project Officer, Workforce Partnerships, you’ll be part of the Education and Workforce team, supporting our mission to build a strong, diverse physics workforce for the future. Your work will help leverage our evidence and insights to identify and develop institutional partnerships through which we can deliver sustainable impact against our Skills priorities.

You will also take a lead in celebrating the crucial role of physics-related technical talent in the workplace through operational administration of our flagship Technical Skills Awards.

You’ll support the delivery of projects, working closely with colleagues across the organisation, IOP Members and external stakeholders.

Projects and activities you may work on include:

• Supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement activities to drive impactful new partnership development.
• Helping to design and deliver workshops, events and engagement campaigns. As an example, this could include supporting the development of case studies, and digital and print collateral, to raise the awareness and visibility of physics-related routes to employment.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join ATLEU, a leading anti-trafficking and human rights charity. We are looking for an inclusive, creative, talented facilitator, with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to be our Participation Manager.

The Participation Manager will facilitate survivors of trafficking to use their experiences to support the development of ATLEU’s work and services and to improve policy and practice across the anti-trafficking and legal advice sectors. Working with group members, this individual will be responsible for supporting the expansion of the group  (The Changemakers) and the remit of ATLEU’s participation work from January 2026 when the current projects come to a close, ensuring new members are inducted and supported to engage and lead in future projects. The overall aim of the participation and activism work is to integrate survivors at all levels within ATLEU, as well as creating a project that offers different levels of engagement, depending on the interests and capacity of individual group members.

The Participation Manager is a key member of the Rise and Lead project team, which is a groundbreaking new employment pathways project in partnership with Southeast and East Asian Centre (SEEAC) and Voice of Domestic Workers for those with experience of human trafficking and migration. 

The successful candidate will have direct experience of working with vulnerable individuals, ideally survivors of trafficking, a strong understanding of the challenges survivors face and be committed to shifting power to people with lived experience. They will have a flexible approach and understand what empowerment means in its truest sense, allowing the structure of the work to be led by the needs of the group rather than with a predetermined or fixed idea of what this will look like.

Since we were established in 2013, we have led the way in ensuring that survivors of trafficking have access to free, independent legal advice by enabling access to legal aid, across the range of issues survivors experience. For example, our litigation against the Legal Aid Agency led to their concession that legal aid provision was insufficient for victims of trafficking and an increase in the number of trafficking compensation cases that legal aid providers were contractually able to assist with each year (from 5 up to 100). Following litigation on behalf of our client LL, the Legal Aid Agency agreed that victims of trafficking were legally entitled to free immigration advice on applying for leave to remain in the UK on the basis of their trafficking experiences and publicised this entitlement.

Location: London based with hybrid working. We can offer flexible working arrangements but the role will require regular office attendance

Hours: 21 hrs per week

Salary Band: £31,374 – £37,772 pro rata per year.  Starting salary will depend on the level of candidate’s experience

Pension: 7% pension contribution 

Leave: 33 days a year (including bank holidays), with an increase of 1 day per year for each complete year of service, capped at 30 days plus bank holidays per year (38 days).

Objectives of the post 

• To lead on the development of ATLEU’s participation strategy including a plan for implementation. 

• To develop ATLEU’s Changemakers expert by experience group so that it is sustainable, resilient and inclusive and able to deliver its strategic objectives.

• To build the power of survivors within ATLEU to influence organisational strategy and decision making and inform ATLEU’s services and priorities. 

Main Responsibilities 

Strategy development

1. Using the framework of ATLEU’s 5-year strategic plan, develop ATLEU’s participation strategy creating an annual plan to deliver on our organisational vision. 

2. Develop and maintain positive relationships across ATLEU’s team staying up to date with different areas of organisational work in order to create opportunities for collaboration and coproduction with the Changemakers, finding flexible and creative ways to integrate new opportunities into the annual plan. 

Developing ATLEU’s Changemakers group

3. Recruit and induct people with lived experience of trafficking to be active participants in the Changemakers.

4. To facilitate meetings of the Changemakers ensuring activities are accessible and inclusive for all participants.

5. To secure opportunities for skills and knowledge development through internal and external training.

6. Conduct needs assessments to identify safeguarding, support needs and development goals and provide practical and emotional support where required.

7. Nurturing the wellbeing and solidarity of the group, providing individual pastoral support, coordinating reflective practice sessions and group activities.

8. Review, adapt, and agree terms of reference and foundational values with the group. 

9. To manage the annual lived experience budget.
 

Building the power of survivors within ATLEU 

10. To be an effective liaison between the group and the Director, trustees and wider staff team.

11. Understanding how ATLEU works as an organisation and its key activities and facilitating regular communication between Changemakers and ATLEU’s people. 

12. Create opportunities for collaboration, co-creation and leadership for ATLEU’s Changemakers members.

13. Identifying potential opportunities for Changemakers to take on paid roles within the organisation, defining the scope of the role, recruitment/ selection of individuals for the roles, and supporting individuals to gain experience of working independently (eg. peer research training development, training delivery).

14. To take a creative and flexible approach to working with the group, to understand their priorities and goals and find ways to steer and adapt their ideas so that they can be delivered within an organisational context. 

15. Work with ATLEU’s Director, Head of Operations and People and Inclusion Manager to create pathways for people with lived experience of trafficking to participate in ATLEU’s governance and decision-making, including at trustee board level and development of funding proposals. 

16. Support the delivery of ATLEU’s Rise and Lead Fellowship project helping to create an employment pathway for people with lived experience of human trafficking and migration in the advice and anti-trafficking sector. 

17. Support the Rise and Lead Project Manager with the development of a bespoke inclusive recruitment programme and the delivery of the training fellowship, and the project monitoring and evaluation and dissemination of learning. 

Coproduction with the Changemakers

18. Working with ATLEU’s Changemakers to act as agents of change, to influence external stakeholders (e.g. anti-trafficking organisations, policy makers, parliamentarians, media) and share their expertise, whilst ensuring the necessary safeguarding is in place. 

19. To work with the Policy Manager and Communications and Public Affairs Officer to facilitate people with lived experience of trafficking to inform, shape and co-produce: 

• Training 

• Information / legal resources

• Peer Research reports

• Monitoring and evaluation (ATLEU’s services/ Rise and Lead) 

• Policy & Communication materials

• Events

20. To find ways to cultivate respect for lived experience, and encourage inclusive practices in the sector, such as through engagement with the Lived Experience Coalition 

Professional Development 

21. To take responsibility for self-development on a continuous basis, including undertaking on-the-job and other training as required. 

22. To discuss regularly with the Policy Manager your job performance and personal career development. 

23. To participate fully in ATLEU’s appraisal process. 

Other Duties 

24. To play a full role in the organisation supporting colleagues to maximise their effectiveness. 

25. To support and adhere to ATLEU’s equal opportunities policy and to always act in an ethical manner that upholds the good reputation of ATLEU. 

26. To ensure that the terms of ATLEU’s funders are adhered to in all aspects of ATLEU’s delivery and to provide information for proposals and reports as required.

29. To represent ATLEU at external meetings and where necessary and to attend meetings, occasionally including those out of normal working hours, when necessary. To travel between ATLEU’s offices as required.
