Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support including healthcare services to children and adults with M.E. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help improve lives now, while taking action for the future. It’s an exciting time to join as we are halfway through delivering our ambitious five-year strategy. 

This post will play a crucial part in helping the charity to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E., as you will be supporting our fundraisers to maximise income generation and raise awareness. We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised self-starter with excellent people skills to inspire and support our amazing community fundraisers as they raise funds for our work. You’ll work closely with the Fundraising and Communications teams to coordinate our community fundraising activities, including marathons, bike rides and coffee mornings.

Location: This role can be based at any one of the Arts Council of Wales offices in Cardiff, Colwyn Bay or Carmarthen.We are currently working in a hybrid way.

The International Co-ordinator supports the effective delivery of Wales Arts International’s activities, its projects and services. This includes the development of international information services, co-ordination of communication, correspondence and appointments. It also involves the planning, organisation and administration of internal and external meetings, events and conferences and participation in delivering frontline contact work with sectors in Wales and in international contexts.

The primary focus of this specific role is to provide a high quality administrative and support service to Arts Infopoint UK. It will work alongside the Arts Infopoint UK Officer, Arts Infopoint UK partners and the Wales Arts International team.

Arts Infopoint UK is an initiative to support the arts sector with information on practical issues relating to artist international mobility. Arts Council of Wales’s international agency, Wales Arts International (WAI), is leading the project in partnership with Creative Scotland, Arts Council England, and Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

About you

You will have well developed IT and administrative skills, good communication skills and experience of supporting the organisation of events and dealing with people in events, conferences and other group contexts at an organisational level.

Welsh language

We work in both English and Welsh. Fluency in Welsh (both written and spoken) is desirable but not essential for this post. Upon appointment we can support you to learn, develop and improve your language skills and to increase your confidence in speaking and writing in Welsh.

CEASE (the Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation) is a national human rights charity. Our mission is to expose and dismantle the cultural and commercial forces driving all forms of sexual exploitation in the UK. Sexual exploitation does not occur in a vacuum, and only by addressing the wider context can we hope for real, lasting change.
As a charity, we join the dots between our hypersexualised, objectifying, pornified culture and public attitudes and behaviours towards sex:
• We demonstrate how the mass consumption of online pornography depicting the humiliation, violation and degradation of women and children has realworld consequences.
• We shine a light on the widespread exploitation and harm caused by commercial sex industries that undermine our human rights.

We are neither a religious nor an ideologically driven charity but seek to bring together a broad alliance of groups from many backgrounds around a common stance. CEASE’s work is based on peer reviewed research and survivors’ accounts; it takes the form of advocacy, awareness-raising campaigns, events, lobbying and other strategic actions.

CEASE is looking for an experienced policy officer with a passion for ending all forms of sexual exploitation. Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, the role will entail political advocacy, relationship building across stakeholders, including Parliament and research and policy analysis.

Somebody goes missing in the UK every 90 seconds. Missing People exists to ease the heartache experienced by those missing someone, and to help people who are away from home find their way back to safety. Our vision is for every missing child, adult and family left behind to find help, hope and a safe way to reconnect. We are a non-judgemental, highly skilled team of staff and volunteers working for everyone who needs us. We provide free, confidential support, help and advice by phone, email, text and live chat.

The work of the charity includes helpline and intensive support services for young people who are running away, missing adults, and people whose loved ones are missing (“families”). The experiences of the people we support include: suicide and self-harm, mental health crisis, child sexual and criminal exploitation, traumatic grief (bereavement by suicide, homicide), discrimination. The frontline team support people in heart-breaking situations – the people we support often feel helpless and are living in limbo due to the ambiguous loss of their missing loved one.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE

Your role will be to provide clinical supervision to staff across the Services Team. It is essential for the frontline team to be able to maintain strong boundaries, have regular debriefing and the space to process the work they do and to reflect on how working with this trauma is impacting them, as well as to develop their practice. You will:

• Provide regular individual clinical supervision for frontline staff or Senior Coordinators / Team Leaders;
• Monitor attendance at supervision;
• Provide regular reports to the Services Leadership Team on engagement with supervision and any development needs identified;
• Facilitate 2-4 thematic group sessions per year for Services staff (reflective practice).

ABOUT YOU

You will have proven experience of:
• Providing clinical supervision to helpline staff and/or their team leaders;
• Transforming experience into learning;
• Working around the issues of suicide & self-harm, mental health crisis and discrimination;
• Working around the issues of child sexual and criminal exploitation and traumatic grief (bereavement by suicide, homicide);
• Implementing safeguarding procedures to safeguard children, young people or adults at risk of harm.

You must also have:
• Qualification in clinical supervision with a minimum of 2 years post qualification practice;
• BACP registration or accreditation (preferred) or UKCP registration;
• and be a qualified Counsellor.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
• If you work remotely you must have a private and secure place you can work in the UK and internet access.

Your role

As our new parent adviser you’ll  join our wonderful team in Wales as part of our Building Resilience Project.

In this part time, home-based role, you’ll have the opportunity to support and mentor parent carers, helping them develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence to make decisions that are best for their families. You’ll also help create and deliver well-being workshops for parent carers to empower, inform, and reduce their stress and help increase their confidence so they are able to access the benefits they are entitled to.  And you’ll work in partnership with money advice organisations across Wales, to set up referrals for parent carers to make sure they get all the financial support they need.

What we’re looking for

• Experience of working with and supporting families who have disabled children in Wales.
• Ability to support and mentor parent carers to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make decisions that are right for their families.
• Experience in creating, facilitating, and delivering workshops
• Good organisational and administrative skills
• Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, respite care.
• Knowledge of issues relating to maximising income, accessing financial support, benefits, and other financial issues.
• Good communication, time management, and networking skills.
