Campaign for Better Transport is the leading national charity championing the need for integrated, sustainable and affordable transport. This role will play a significant part in our Policy and Research team and will be responsible for developing and evidencing our policy work to underpin our campaigning, influencing and communications.

The successful candidate will have experience in policy research, a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research, the ability to develop and utilise appropriate research methods and excellent data analysis skills. They will also have an understanding of Westminster, national, regional and local policy development and delivery processes.

We are open to levels of seniority between officer and manager level, and will appoint the most suitable person to the post, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Research 
  • Managing and working on research projects that utilise both quantitative and qualitative methods, including drafting and analysing surveys, statistical data analysis, and organising and leading focus groups and expert workshops
  • Drafting written reports, including analysis of the research findings and the policy context, and developing recommendations for policymakers.

  • Developing and disseminating the charity’s policy positions based on robust evidence and analysis

Person specification

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• An undergraduate qualification (transport, policy or politics related would be a bonus)
• Experience in a similar role (a minimum of one year for the Policy Researcher role, including internships, and three years for the Policy Research Manager role)

We are seeking a Finance and Governance Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead the Trust’s finance, governance, and back-office functions. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective charity governance. While not involved in field-based project delivery, the Finance Manager plays a strategic role in supporting the organisation’s mission by enabling robust financial planning, reporting, and operational support. The Choir with No Name London – Choir Manager

About us:

The Choir with No Name runs choirs and builds joyful singing communities with people impacted by homelessness and marginalisation, around the UK. We currently have choirs in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Brighton, Coventry, Cardiff and Sheffield.

We were founded on the premise that singing makes you feel good - it helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long-lasting friendships. Our choir members are people who have experienced homelessness, or who are going through a tough time in their lives. Our choirs are a supportive, safe space for people to be among friends, where they can experience the joy of singing together, have fun, build confidence and skills, and feel more able to tackle life's other challenges, such as securing housing or finding work.

What we do is simple: our choirs meet once a week for a cuppa and a catch up, we then sing our hearts out for an hour and a half and sit down together afterwards for a hot meal cooked by volunteers.

We perform regularly at a whole load of different places, including local homeless hostels, community festivals and world-class venues, such as the Cadogan Hall and Brighton Dome. Gigs are a highlight for everyone at the Choir with No Name, offering members something to work towards together and feel proud of, showcasing their many talents to the world. The thrill of performing in front of appreciative audiences in inspirational venues can instil a sense of purpose and self-worth that may have been lost along the way.

We also deliver community projects for people at risk of homelessness, or who are experiencing related issues (such as mental health challenges, drug and alcohol addiction, refugees and asylum seekers) in each of the cities where we work, motivated by a desire to share the joy of singing with as many people experiencing isolation and marginalisation as possible, and hopefully recruit a few more choir members along the way!

About the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative manager for our London choir involving people impacted by homelessness. You’ll be part of a supportive team at CWNN and will work closely with our choir director to deliver fun, inclusive, welcoming rehearsals and gigs throughout the year.

This is an exciting and varied role working with our choir members and volunteers to support the safe running of weekly rehearsals, as well as delivering regular gigs and outreach workshops across London (and beyond!).  You will need to be available to attend Monday night rehearsals in Stoke Newington London and have an understanding of working with people who have experienced complex trauma. We are looking for someone with impeccable organisational skills and the ability to multitask, as well the ability to take a creative approach to delivering inclusive group activities. About the Role

As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing financial processes and ensuring smooth operations. You will:

• Manage the accounts receivable function ensuring that invoices are raised in a timely manner, receipts are recorded on the accounting system and in liaison with the relevant managers ensure that outstanding balances are followed up on a regular and frequent basis
• Manage the accounts payable function ensuring that invoices are paid in a timely manner and supporting line managers with coding and uploading via HubDoc as necessary. • Bank and other Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Liaise with the Development team and provide weekly breakdowns of grants and donations received to ensure that income can be properly recorded on the donor database
• Monitor and reconcile credit card and petty cash payments ensuring that all financial controls are adhered to
• Supporting the Finance Director with month and year end procedures and reporting

About You

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who can work both independently and collaboratively. You will bring:

• Have a solid understanding and experience of core accounting functions, financial management and bookkeeping – ideally in the charity or not for profit sector – including managing both accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Have good Excel skills and demonstrable experience of using accounting systems (we currently use Xero)

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs are responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of First Give in up to 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, providing guidance and troubleshooting for the Lead Teachers.

• Liaise with freelance facilitators to ensure events at schools are effectively staffed
• Deliver Launch Assemblies, Workshops and First Give Finals in partner schools
• Collect data for monitoring (student surveys, teacher surveys, identifying potential stories of impact, writing programme reports)
• Ensure prompt delivery of any programme resources required by schools (including Coursebooks and other physical resources)
• Support in the collection and distribution of comms via social media, newsletters and other formats to raise awareness of First Give’s work

We have a team of 15 Link Workers and Care Coordinators spread throughout the borough and in this role you will lead and manage the team.

The NHS Plan also highlighted the need to focus on the prevention of long-term conditions and reduce health inequalities faced by sections of society. Youth Participation Officer

Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!

The post holder will manage and develop youth-led community projects in which young people develop their leadership and employability skills through becoming actively involved in their community and participating in self-directed community action. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of several youth-led community projects, primarily the organisation of youth-led community events, but might also include elements of other youth-led activities, such as youth action team, health champions and ambassadors. 

For example, typically, this would involve working with groups of around 10 young people in each cohort and support them to deliver their community event project over a 12-week period.  Examples of events include youth-led football tournaments, street parties and our community Christmas dinner. This post will be part of the delivery team overseeing self-directed community action projects. The post holder may also support drop-in sessions and other activities aimed at engaging young people and referring them onto the youth-led community action programme.

We supported 833 women and children last year, with a current income target of £1.25m (growing to £1.4m in 2026-2027) and 36 staff. You will be joining the Woman’s Trust Fundraising team as we work towards our strategy 2022-2027, to double our income and the number of women we support each year. Alongside delivering our existing 1-1 counselling, self-development workshops and therapeutic support groups for women who have experienced domestic abuse, we are focused on developing our innovative mental health services for young women and girls, delivering new peer-led support groups and providing therapeutic groups to children and their mothers. We are also committed to developing further awareness-raising workshops and training for professionals, building on our research and policy to improve systems nationally.

As a skilled and compassionate counselling manager, aligned with our feminist ethos and the needs of our service users, you will bring experience in leading counselling services, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support for women affected by domestic abuse. You will have experience in managing counsellors and/or volunteers, providing clinical supervision, and ensuring best practice across service delivery. You will be able to oversee the full cycle of service management, including monitoring outcomes, safeguarding, and compliance, while also contributing to service development and innovation in line with our strategic priorities.
