Essential skills:
- Have a ONC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Evidence of further formal management study and/or qualification or commitment to study overcoming 18 months
- A proven track record of leading Talking Therapy services (or similar)
- Experience and evidence of working effectively at a management level in a complex, multi disciplinary organisation
- A track record of successfully working in joint ventures and partnerships
- Experience of managing a budget
- A proven track record of creating and maintaining a strong performance management culture
- Ability to lead change within a local service area
- Ability to interpret evidence and analyse problems to create viable sustainable solutions

The main duties of the role

Job Title: Training Facilitator
Location: Our central office in Islington, just a 10 minute walk from Highbury & Islington station. About the role

The Head of Fundraising and Communications plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving Bowel Research UK's fundraising strategies and audience engagement initiatives.
This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, growing the charity’s supporter base and income, building up new and under-developed income streams and communicating effectively with their audiences to expand their reach, and encourage financial and non-financial support to deliver the organisations mission.
You will have the autonomy and scope to drive elements of your work and take ownership of your own objectives. You will be required to collaborate on decisions to shape and deliver initiatives, programmes and processes as required for each area of income delivery.
Key to the success of this role is a strong understanding of individual giving fundraising – an area that is underdeveloped at Bowel Research UK. This role blends the strategic oversight and leadership of a Head of Fundraising role, with the hands-on expertise of an IG fundraiser.
The successful candidate for this role will be someone who has already operated at a senior level within a charity such as at Senior Manager level, or Head of in a specific income stream. Having a background or significant experience in delivery across individual giving is also vital due to the importance of that income stream to Bowel Research UK – the post holder will be the organisations expert in IG.

Position: Careers and Employability Adviser
Location: London Waterloo (twice a week based in East or West London)
Salary: £34,900 per annum depending on experience
Contract: Fixed-term contract until March 2026, with the potential to transition into a permanent post, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

We are seeking to appoint a team player with a background in education or programme delivery, who is well-organised and an efficient administrator, with excellent inter-personal skills. This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of our cohort programmes including currently: Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and Gen Z and the City. Job Description:
· Work with the Programme team, to design and deliver educational resources, workshops and conferences including our Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and intergenerational change programme areas;
· Deliver Exploring Ethics and other Cumberland Lodge workshops as requested;
· Identify potential partners and collaborate with stakeholders related to programme activity;
· Produce funding proposals;
· Produce and/or editing briefing papers and reports when required;
· Produce digital content for online learning and engage regularly with the community engagement platform, including identifying topics, producing webinars and podcasts;
· Act as Duty Officer for 8 weekends (involving, if required, giving welcome talks, leading Exploring Ethics Sessions, and escorting groups to the Royal Chapel). Accommodation is provided on these weekends.
· Attend departmental, staff, and ad hoc planning meetings
· Work with the Communications team to produce website and social media content relating to the Programme.

Person specification
You’ll have:

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Based at Cumberland Lodge in Windsor Great Park. (Applicants should be aware that Cumberland Lodge is not easily accessible by public transport).
Hybrid working available, with a minimum 3 days a week in the office.
The role requires flexible working. There will be some weekend and evening duties, including programme events, facilitating workshops for visiting groups, talks and tours of the Lodge (shared on a rota basis). Accommodation will be provided on site when evening work is required.

- Doctoral qualification (PhD or professional doctorate) in a relevant field (or near completion), with excellent understanding of psychology and neuroscience as applied to trauma in children and young people.

- Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including confidence in using statistical software such as SPSS and R.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tutor, mentor, and provide pastoral support to diverse postgraduate students.
