We’re looking for a Project Manager to lead strategic and organisational improvement projects that make a real difference to more than 150,000 volunteers and 400,000 young people across the UK. You’ll primarily support two high-profile projects - the Disclosure Compliance Project and the Adventurous Activity Permit Review - while also helping us develop our wider approach to project management. Working across teams, volunteers and stakeholders, you’ll bring people together, navigate complexity and keep projects moving to deliver positive outcomes. We’re looking for an adaptable and collaborative project manager who can motivate others and make things happen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the scoping, design and delivery of projects from start to finish
  • Agree objectives and plans, manage tasks, resources, budgets and project schedules
  • Keep project documentation, progress updates, risks and issues up to date
  • Work closely with stakeholders and project teams, providing direction and keeping everyone engaged
  • Manage risks, changes and quality, while helping to improve our wider project management approach

What we're looking for in our Project Manager

  • Strong project management skills, with experience delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Confident communicator who can build relationships, influence others and handle challenging conversations
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the confidence to make decisions, manage change and work across teams
  • Positive, proactive and accountable, with a commitment to Scouts’ values and supporting volunteers and young people

What we offer as our Project Manager:

  • A supportive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment
  • Ongoing learning and professional development opportunities
  • 28 days annual leave, rising to 32 days after 2 years, plus additional time off over Christmas
  • Flexible working options to suit you, your role, and your team
  • A double-matched pension scheme, up to 10% employer contribution
  • A family-friendly approach, with generous family leave policies
